Candice was so communicative and made me feel at ease before she even arrived at the house. This was my first time using Rover and first time having someone walk Mocha without a previous introduction. It was so nice to know that Mocha was in good hands and Candice went above and beyond in making sure she got a good walk in and had time to pee/poop. I'm so appreciative of Candice and would recommend her to anyone!

About: My husband and I live in a comfortable home with a yard, providing plenty of space for dogs to relax, play, and feel at home. We recently lost our beloved dog a few months ago, and we deeply miss having a dog around. Caring for your dog would be very meaningful to us, and we would treat them with the same love, patience, and attention we gave our own. I have years of personal experience caring for dogs, including feeding, walking, training, administering basic care, and making sure they feel safe and comfortable. I am also a Registered Nurse, so I am dependable, attentive, and accustomed to caring for others. My husband works from home, which means someone is usually available throughout the day to provide supervision, companionship, and regular potty breaks. We enjoy taking dogs on walks, spending time outdoors, and making them feel like part of the family. I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, and I will gladly provide updates and photos during their stay. I look forward to meeting you and caring for your pup! Natacha A. Pet care fits well into our routine because my husband works from home and is available throughout the day for supervision, companionship, potty breaks, and playtime. I am a Registered Nurse, so my schedule varies, but I dedicate my free time to caring for the dogs staying with us. Together, we can provide plenty of attention, daily walks, outdoor time in our yard, and a comfortable home environment. In our home, pets are treated like part of the family. We provide a safe, comfortable environment with plenty of attention, playtime, outdoor time in our yard, and daily walks based on each dog’s needs and energy level. I follow each pet’s usual feeding, sleeping, medication, and care routine as closely as possible so they feel comfortable and secure. I am also happy to provide regular photos and updates throughout their stay.

About: I have taken care of animals for as long as I can remember. I grew up with cats, but most of my family had dogs, so I have always been around them. This love for animals also got me into the veterinary field, which I have 6 years experience in. I have years of experience walking, handling, and playing with dogs and now have the experience to give oral medications or injections if needed. I currently don’t have any dogs, but I do have 2 cats. During my day I always make sure I wake up early enough to feed them and clean the litter box. After coming home from work, I feed them dinner and spend some time brushing and playing with them. I then clean the litter box before going to bed and repeat the next day. In my home, I have installed screen doors on the entry doors to prevent my cats from escaping but so they also can see the outside activity. I have socket covers to prevent them from playing in it and make sure to cover all wires so they don’t think they are toys.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Jacquelyn! She has gone above and beyond in caring for my elderly dog and cats, providing them with not just the essentials but genuine love and attention. From the very start, she has been incredibly kind, communicative, and dependable, always keeping me updated with messages and pictures that give me peace of mind. Caring for senior pets requires patience and extra effort, and Jacquelyn has shown both in abundance. Whether it’s taking extra time on walks, administering special care, or making sure my cats feel just as loved, she has exceeded all my expectations. It’s clear she truly cares about the well-being of the animals she looks after. I wholeheartedly recommend Jacquelyn.

About: I’ve grown up with dreams of becoming a vet since a child but turned to another career path that grabbed my heart strongly. I still love animals and baby sit my friends pets anytime they need being that I work from home. I’ve been a dog owner of a lovely female yorkie for 5 years and a female pitbull for 10 months. They aren’t my pets they are my children! I do care for dogs in heat as well being that I have a female pitt as well & have extensive experience. Dogs are such loveable companions and smart as well. I wish to share my services of care and play with others as well as providing a safe space for pet owners in need of baby sitting or care when life gets busy. I currently work from home so pet care is never overlooked in my home. My dog is my #1 priority the moment I open my eyes. Any pet in my care is treated and loved as my own. I have a very loving & forgiving female pitbull who is properly caged trained as well. Pet care and safety is my top priority next to an enjoyable experience in my care.

This was our first time using Rover in several years and since moving back to NYC from another state. We engaged Doris to stop by our apartment to walk our two large dogs in the middle of a weekday when we both had to be out of town and it sounds like everything went great. One of our dogs, Molly, can be very shy and skittish, so we left Doris detailed instructions about how to deal with her. Doris gave us specific feedback about how Molly did with her (quite well, as it turned out), which made us feel more comfortable about the next time we will need to employ someone to help with the dogs.

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my ability to adapt to each pet’s unique needs. I have experience with everything from energetic puppies who need consistent training and playtime, to senior dogs who require gentle care, medication, and patience. I focus on making pets feel safe, loved, and comfortable—whether it’s a long walk, structured routines, or just extra cuddles. You can count on me to treat your pet like family while keeping communication open and consistent. Being in college means I’m away from my own dog, who I cared for every day. Pet sitting helps fill that gap—I get to give other pets the same love, attention, and consistency I gave my own. I plan my days around classes so I always have plenty of time for walks, play, and cuddles. Caring for animals isn’t just something I do on the side—it’s something I genuinely miss and enjoy, which makes every visit special. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I make it my priority to keep their routine consistent and stress-free. Whether that means regular walks, feeding on schedule, playtime, or administering medications, I follow your instructions closely so your pet feels safe and cared for. I’ve always been a dependable and trustworthy person—throughout high school I was an honor roll student and someone people could rely on. Now in college, I bring that same reliability and dedication to pet care, treating every pet like they’re my own.

Alina did great with my dog, Nova! She arrived on time and soothed my worries by taking lots of pictures of Nova, who looked like she was having a great time. She was even amenable to my crazy work schedule and was nothing short of amazing about helping me out last minute two days in a row. Definitely going to request her again in the future! Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
