“Melissa was outstanding with Luna!! We had a meet-and-greet before our first day to make sure Luna was comfortable. She immediately gravitated to Melissa, who was diligent in asking questions and making sure she would be as prepared as possible. Melissa was a fantastic communicator, quick to respond and provided amazing updates with lots of great pictures! We will absolutely be working with Melissa again and have already requested her for another visit for Luna!”

“Michelle was wonderful!! She took great care of our doggies while we were away. It was so nice knowing that they were well taken care of! I plan to book her (if she’s available ?) the next time we go out of town!”

About: Hi, I’m Toccara! I’ve been surrounded by animals my whole life and can’t imagine a home without them. I’ve cared for pets of all kinds like dogs, cats, birds, bunnies. I have officially been pet sitting since I was 16 and have also been working at a dog daycare for the past four months, where gained lots of experience with pups of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. I am currently working part-time at my job. On days that I am off from work I usually have a very open schedule past 10am and can always make discussion on what you prefer!! I follow their usual routines with feeding, walks, and playtime, and I pay attention to their individual needs and personalities. I treat every dog like they’re my own, giving them plenty of affection and care. I am gentle, patient, and attentive and have especially learned these things from working with dogs. and would never do anything to harm an animal. Working at a dog daycare also helped me learn about different sickness and what to look out for dogs when something isn’t right or if they need medical attention.
About: I have grown up my entire life with a household full of dogs and cats, so I know what it takes to care for them and bring them happiness. I have a puppy of my own right now and know how particular I can be about certain things, so any special requests or needs will be met by me. I am an advocate for training and can ensure you I will follow your instructions carefully. I love going on walks and am an active person, no better companion than a pup. I give my undivided attention to each pet and will make sure you feel at ease while you are away. I have experience with puppies and senior dogs as well as shelter pets through fostering. I am free on the weekends to help take your pet out on a walk or a visit while you are traveling/busy. I enjoy being outside, why not include a furry friend! I will take them on long, but safe walks and provide a lot of water. If I'm visiting a home, I will be sure to always follow the owner's guidelines and make sure I leave the place better than I found it. Everyone will be happy!

About: Hi, my name is Gavin Schroen! I’m a 20-year-old sophomore Film Student at SCAD and a proud dog owner. I’ve cared for my dog, Calvin, for 14 years—from his playful puppy days to his senior years now—so I have hands-on experience with every stage of a dog’s life. That means I know how to handle high-energy pets who need lots of attention and exercise, as well as senior dogs who need extra patience, comfort, and care. What sets me apart is the level of dedication and understanding I bring to pet care. I know that every pet has their own personality and needs, and I make sure to give them the same love and attention that I give to Calvin. Whether it’s long walks, cuddle time, or just making sure they feel safe and comfortable, I’m committed to keeping pets happy and cared for while their owners are away. I currently have a very flexible schedule and plenty of availability for pet care. Living on my own allows me to dedicate time and attention to pets without major conflicts, making me reliable and adaptable to your needs. I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life, so providing consistent care, safety, and attention has become second nature to me. I understand the responsibility that comes with pet ownership and make it a priority to create a safe, comfortable, and trusting environment for every pet I look after.

About: I’ve had my own cats since I was 9 years old, as well as my families dog that I would frequently take on walks and watch while my parents were at work when I’m back in town. Growing up I was always the go-to pet sitter for my cul-de-sac as pretty much everyone me knew how much I loved animals. Nowadays I help out my friends with their pets when they need it (cats, dogs, fish, and reptiles of various ages). I am a quick learner and always aim to make sure the animals feels as safe and comfortable as possible. I am currently a full time student, however I still have plenty of time to take care of your animals. I am available Friday-Sunday most weeks, before 11am or after 2pm on Tuesdays/Thursdays, and before 11am or after 5pm on Monday/Wednesday. My schedule is also very flexible if we need to work something out! I unfortunately am unable to keep animals at my residence, but I am more than happy to come by your place and recreate your typical care schedule!
About: I have cared for both cats and dogs my entire life and genuinely love spending time with animals. I’m comfortable with pets of different ages, personalities, and energy levels, and I always make sure they receive plenty of attention, care, and affection. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, happy, and comfortable while their owners are away. As a fully online student, I have a very flexible schedule and can easily work pet care into my daily routine. I’m especially flexible with house sitting and can accommodate different schedules and routines. For check-ins and visits, I typically prefer times between 8 AM and 9 PM, as I generally avoid very early mornings and late nights. I’m happy to work with pet parents to find a schedule that works best for everyone! I always prioritize your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness. I follow each pet’s individual routine and care instructions, including feeding, walks, medication, and playtime when needed. In a client’s home, I treat their space with the same care and respect I would my own. I provide plenty of attention, keep pets in a safe environment, and communicate with owners so they can feel confident and reassured while they’re away.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
