“Brittany is very professional and loved my kitty kat Tucker even though he is terrified of strangers and wouldn't visit with her when she dropped in during the vacation week! She did everything needed for Tucker to be on his own and we would have her back with no hesitation - Thanx Brittany!”

“Tiffany was super friendly and took great care of my dog while I was at work. I really appreciated the updates, pictures, and the peace of mind knowing my pup got some fresh air and attention during the day. Will definitely be booking again—highly recommend!”

“Lauren was super responsive and took great care of our very energetic 2 1/2 year old German Shepherd. Our dog was very well cared for and happy with two daily walks and feeding. I recommend Lauren and give her 5 stars for a green job.”

“Matthew came last minute for me and did a phenomenal job. I have a Cane Corso and German Shepherd and he handled both without any issues. Def will be using him again and highly recommend him.”

About: My whole life we had cats and dogs. I have house sat for neighbors and friends with pets since I was ten years old. I currently own a rabbit. I have also cared for all kinds of rodents, fish, and reptiles. I have trained puppies and kittens and a bunny. I also cared for my older dachshund and gave him shots and necessary medications. I work part time teaching yoga throughout the week and have lots of availability. I only have custody of my kids every other week making my week without them a great time for extra hours and house sitting. I keep pets from being hungry, thirsty, or bored. I keep pets nicely groomed and their areas and things nicely cleaned. I offer direct focus and affection. I can walk or run with dogs. I love doing yoga on the floor and watching cats or my rabbit climb all over me and get affection.
About: I have always had a pet in my house since the day I was born. Mostly dogs, but I have also had other smaller pets. I now have one 12 year old chocolate lab and one 6 year old black lab that I take care of everyday. Because of this I have experience with puppies and older dogs, along with dealing with more than one pet at a time. I currently have school from 10:30-2:15 but I am free anytime before then and after that. I also am available almost every weekend if needed. I have a fenced in yard with a doggy door to get outside and two friendly dogs to keep your pet company. I love to take my pets on walks or just play with them in the house or yard.
“I’m so grateful to have found someone I not only trust, but more importantly, that my dog trusts. My pup can be protective of his home, and Heather built trust with him right from the start. She took the time to understand his personality and made each visit a chance to build confidence, have fun, and sneak in a little training too. Now he waits by the door and watches out the window hoping Heather will be back soon! She’s incredibly communicative, lighthearted, and just so easy to work with. Finding someone who genuinely cares and connects like this is rare, and I can’t recommend her enough.”

“Ximena is wonderful! She gave us plenty of support and advice as we transitioned to becoming dog owners in December 2025! Our dog Daisy loved Ximena from the very first time she met her! Ximena is very intuitive with a dog or pet’s needs. She always used positive reinforcement to guide Daisy in commands. She is always patient, gentle and kind with animals. She even gave Daisy a gift when she had moved farther away. Honestly we were so devastated that Ximena would not be able to walk Daisy anymore. We have had other dog walkers but no one as consistent and sweet as Ximena. She always sends lots of photos and detailed messages about the walks. We wish she could still be walking Daisy! We highly recommend Ximena if you need care for your pet!”

About: I’ve been dogsitting throughout highschool while juggling sports, other jobs, AP classes and my own furry friends. I am able to set a goal and see it through whether it be training your puppy, playing with your cat or walking your fur babies daily. I have had experience with several different types of cats and dogs, including a huge German Shepard, 5 cats at a time and a very spoilt (with love) puppy. I am free during the weekends, and free for half of the day during the week. My senior year schedule allows me to leave school at around 11:30, giving me the rest of the day to answer to any pet needs. I intend to care for pets are their clients homes only mostly because I know these animals will feel safer and more relaxed in their own homes. I can and will care for them however directed in any way that makes them feel loved
“Sarah took great care of our 2 cats while we were away! She sent adorable pictures and a little summary each day, which was a great surprise! 100% would book with her again :)”

“My pups absolutely loved Bonnie. Even though we didn’t have a pre-meeting, as soon she met them for the first time, they were all over her and connected with no issues. Bonnie was very very patient and flexible with us and very much understanding to our situation. She helped us to watch 4 dogs while I had a serious surgery and my husband didn’t have enough information to provide to Bonnie what time to come and leave. As frustrating it was, Bonnie was very professional and showed understanding and dignity to our situation when my husband had to leave for the hospital. Moreover, Bonnie regularly posted updates and pictures to make us feel comfortable that everything is ok at home and our babies are doing great and under a wonderful care. We definitely recommend Bonnie. Thank you for taking care of our pups!!!”

“Thank you Dominika for all you do for Goldie! He is very happy when he has spent time with you! We also thank you for all the details and extras you take care of for us when we are away! You are amazing! L Kilgallen”

“When we arrived after our five day trip, we encountered our two furbabies freshly woken from a nap, without a care in the world, as if they also had taken a vacation! Wordda made sure our boys were looked after and satisfied. Thank you for everything! <3”

About: As the proud owners to two wonderful little rescue dogs, a cat, some chickens, guinea fowl, goats and sheep, we know how hard it can be sometimes to find care for your pets and farm animals while you are away. We will provide the same level of care and kindness that I would want and expect for our own spoiled pets. Trust is an important part of pet care and petsitting, and we want you to be able to confidently, and without worry, leave your pampered pups and kitties in our care. We live on a small farm in rural Western Maryland, about 20 minutes west of Frederick. We have experience with all kinds of animal care, from horses, cows, goats, sheep, and poultry. We are currently able to provide drop-in visits for dogs, cats, and a variety of farm animals, as well as house or farm sitting, and in home boarding, as well as hourly dog park style use of our large fenced yard. Your pets will be a happy addition to our family in our home! Our whole property is fenced by 4 ft or taller board and wire fencing, with smaller areas sectioned off in the front and back yards. The driveway is gated and secure. We want your pets to feel as safe as our own. Leah and Andrew are both available for petsitting services. We currently work only at home, tending our farm homestead, and have a flexible schedule. We are able to drop in one or two times a day, or less or more often, as needed. We treat every animal as if it were our own and provide a level of care that we would expect from our pet care provider.

As of August 2026, there are 1,302 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Gapland. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Gapland. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
