“Christi took exceptional care of my puppers while I was out of town. She was fantastic. The check in cards were a great feature, Christi gave updates and photos during visits. Knowing my fur family was in good hands provided the peace of mind I needed. I would choose Christi as my pup sitter any day!”

“Dominique was wonderful! She truly is a treasure. She gave loving and conscientious care to my cats; and, especially to my special needs girl. I am lucky to have found her!”

“Kierra is the best pet sitter I've ever had. She sent me lots of photos of my babies through out the week. I have a skittish kitty and Kierra took the time to be patient with her and my kitty was able to open up to her on the first day when she normally hides for a week at first. One of my kitties was having some stomach issues throughout the week and Kierra worked hard to keep the environment safe and clean for them and always kept me in the loop with what was going on. She really took care of my kitties as if they were her own and I could not recommend her enough.”

About: I have had dogs my whole life and they bring me so much joy. I’ve had experience with dogs of all ages and sizes and I’ve found that I enjoy them all. I’ve had experience with training, potty training and have helped family and friends with dog walking. I currently go to school online so I am home most of the day. I have an older dog of my own so I am used to a routine of being able to be home to let me dog outside and take him for walks at least once a day. I have a fenced in backyard so that your dog can be outside as much as they like. I also have a dog that absolutely loves other animals. My son is a big fan of helping out with animals and we both enjoy snuggling up with our dog at the end of the day. I do allow dogs on furniture and in all rooms of my house, however I will respect if this is something you do not wish your dog to do.
“Sarah is the very best! She is caring, thorough, patient and professional. I am always confident she will handle every aspect of my puppy and kitty’s care with love and professionalism. I give her my highest recommendation.”

“Michelle continues to take wonderful care of our girls and they love the attention and care she gives. Thank you Michelle for the great updates and photos and taking care of our fur kids!”

About: I have lived with dogs my entire life, all shapes and sizes. I currently own a Husky, his name is Rollo, and a Chihuahua named Yoda. Both of them are age 6 and have been solely in my care since. I understand that every dog has their own personality, especially breeds like huskies. I’m comfortable handling their energy, attitude, and unique needs while making sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for. I’m dependable, attentive, and treat every dog like they’re part of my own family. I'm currently working part-time but am also in between jobs so my schedule could change. However, I am currently available Sunday-Saturday from 11am-6pm. I live in a safe quiet environment that offers lots of nearby maintained county trails for dogs to walk in, including enclosed dog parks. My two dogs get along with others extremely well to provide company if wanted.
“Shawnia was amazing! Always gave great photo updates and even walked up our snowy driveway to make sure our cats were taken care of when we got TONS of snow while out of town. 5/5 would recommend!”

“Camrynn did a great job with Gator, she came when she said she would did everything as promised and I couldn't be happier. I will definitely book her again in the future.”

“Farrell came and helped take Jaxon out and care for him while I was away and she did a fantastic job! Great at communicating, sharing photos and updates. 100% would book her again!”

“Camryn responded immediately and came out to meet my doggies beforehand. The dogs like her! She came out with her little one, but the dogs weren't quite sure about the baby carrier with the fan on it :). They were really curious though. Camryn took good care of my fur-babies, fed them and made sure they went potty before she left. I will contact her again.”

“Harper didn't warm up to her, but that's because of him not Ashton. He's only ever warned up to one other person. She was very respectful of his space and comfort level and sent pics from every visit. Highly recommend and will definitely use her services again.”

About: As a pet owner (cats, dogs and hamsters), I am offering the same care I looked for when I had pet sitting needs—dependability and love for pets. I work full time remotely so I’m flexible during the week. I do travel with my job and many of my weekends are full. I will keep my schedule updated so times are known when I can help. I am willing to watch your dog or cat at your house. I currently have a friendly cat but he doesn’t understand not all dogs love him. If I watch your dog at my house, the dog would need to meet my cat first to make sure they are ok. I do have a fenced in yard.
“We had a fantastic experience with Chelsey! She was reliable, communicative, and took great care of my cat Fauna. I received regular updates and photos, which gave me total peace of mind while away for the holidays. Fauna was happy, relaxed, and well cared for when we returned. I appreciate Chelsey’s attention, kindness, and professionalism, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring cat sitter.”

“Nicole was absolutely amazing with our two dogs, Tucker and Ruby! They each have very different personalities, and she handled them both with such care and confidence. I felt totally comfortable knowing they were in her hands — and it was clear they were well cared for and loved. Communication was great, and everything went smoothly from start to finish. I would absolutely book with Nicole again!”

About: Hello! My name is Arica. I have been taking care of pets for many years. I love animals, especially dogs. I don’t have any kids and most of my time is spent at home. I do have a job but it is all remote and I can control the days and hours I work. I will treat your fur babies like my own and will make sure your house is looking as good as you left it. If you agree to let me take care of your babies I will do the best in my power to make sure they are safe and comfortable. Message me if you have any questions. Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Galesburg stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Galesburg. On Rover:
- 98% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
