“Wonderful, caring, considerate, and responsible family boarded our two pomskies. Responsive and communicative - sent pictures and updates. Dogs got walked and played with. Medicine was successfully administered. Generous and flexible- dogs were able to stay a few extra days to accommodate some changes in our plans. Dogs were well taken care of, would definitely book with Matt B again.”

While at my home your pet is my only priority and I am happy to suit any needs they have.

“Ricky was excellent! He took care of my 85 pound Hound/ Husky. I always am a bit concerned when leaving my dog with someone but when I need to do it again, Ricky will be the first person I contact.”

“Tina and her daughters took amazing care of our dog Zoe for two nights! Zoe is picky about people, but she was immediately comfortable with Tina in her loving and cheerful home. Tina was communicative during Zoe’s stay, sending pictures and updates each day. Thank you Tina!!”

“I was extremely nervous leaving our 1 year old with someone other than my family as she hasn't left us since we adopted last July. However, my fears were calmed leaving Demi with Nuno. My husband had a great meet and greet and then she stayed with Nuno for a couple nights. Nuno has a wonderful friendly dog, Bisca, and a large yard for the dogs to play. He also has children who showered Demi with love also. ❤️ Great communication while he watched her and I'm already booking him again for our next weekend away!”

“Christle was wonderful! Our 3 dogs were well cared for, we appreciated her sending a picture and letting us know they were all happy! We will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Katie and her family took incredible care of my little fur baby. It was the first time that Bodhi was left with anyone but family and Katie took incredible care of him. I would definitely use Katie again.”

“Shelby was great for our young puppy. We were worried because she’s super young and not even 4 months yet and we just got her a few weeks ago. But Shelby took care of her perfectly, followed her schedule and she had a great time. She kept us up to date with videos and photos, and our dog even got to get some socialization by becoming good buddies with her dogs. Definitely recommend her and will use her in the future if we need to!”

She understands and listens to you, your dog, she tends to every need, goes above and beyond on communicating with you before during and after the stay. I highly recommend her as my pup was so happy and comfortable with her; I'm very pleased to have found her! Thanks for everything you do Rebecca, Tesla & I love everything about you.”
“Cailey took care of my senior cat for an extended time and took great care of her. Cailey kept me updated on how my cat was doing, including for a period of time where my cat wasn’t eating as much. My cat will do this on occasion so I wasn’t concerned, and appreciated Cailey noticing and checking in with me about that. I would absolutely work with Cailey again, thank you!”

Brittany and her family (dogs included) always make my dogs feel right at home!! She has a great yard that my dogs love to spend time in, and she even takes all the dogs for little “pack walks” around her property. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
