I currently care of my two Great Dane littermates,Ryli and Wyni, and my kitty Sketch. I grew up with my Doberman, Sam. I also have experience caring for backyard chickens, ducks, and turkeys. Including feeding, watereing, collecting eggs, and safely putting them to bed in the evening to ensure they are secured and safe in the coop. I am currently home from college at UCSB for the summer. I will have plenty of time to spend with your pets! I can easily tailor my schedule to what works best for you and your pets! I treat every pet's home with the highest level of respect, care, and responsibility. I follow all instructions carefully, keep the home secure at all times, and that pets are safe and comfortable on their familiar environment. Trust, safety, and clear communication are my top priorities while caring for your pets in your home.
About: I have always been an animal lover since childhood and have taken care of a variety of pets of all sizes! I've helped raise puppies, taken care of senior dogs, and helped train good walking, bathing, and bathroom habits. Most animals respond very well to me. Also being a bigger person I have no trouble dealing with larger dogs. Very experienced in all areas of pet care. I am a college student at College of the Redwoods pursuing my degree in Social Work. I have a free summer and would love to spend time with your pets! Weekends or evenings are not a problem for house sitting. I love to spend my time with animals giving them quality care and attention. I am more than happy to watch your pets while you are away on vacation or gone for the day. I can do drop bys or overnights depending on your preference and your animals needs. I have a large fenced yard that is great for dogs if you need doggy daycare. I have reliable transportation to get to and from. I can take them on walks in your neighborhood or go to a local dog park if you prefer. Very open to working with what is best for your animal. I have my own dogs at home but will leave them with my sister while caring for your animal(s) unless you would like the socializing. We have two friendly larger male dogs that love to meet new dogs if you are interested in doggy day care. Our home has a large size dog door for pets to access the house at their convenience.

About: I am a former dog trainer at Dog Gone Amazing training and boarding in Reno Nv for the past 4 and half years. I moved to Eureka to have a new start and would love to continue to work with animals. I’ve worked with many different breeds and many different temperaments. I currently have two dogs of my own and a cat as well. I’ve grown up with all sorts of animals, such a horses, chickens, sled dogs and cats. I would love to continue working with new pets and their owners! I currently have 2 dogs and a cat. I’ve also worked as a kennel tech at a boarding/training facility and then moved on to become a trainer at that same facility. I always recommend crates for any situation but in my own home I would crate all dogs and rotate based on how they all get along. Feeding in the crate or separate from other animals. Daily walks or hikes depending on the animal. Cats would get daily enrichment. If weather doesn’t permit or the animal isn’t able to get that day I’d offer mental enrichment such as lick mats, food puzzles, play, training, etc.
About: I've owned dogs and helped in their care since I was young. I've pet sat for friends and neighbors as well. My current dog has been trained by me to be a service dog, so I'm good with puppy training, as well as patience. I also take care of our elderly pugs grooming needs, such as nail trimming and coat brushing. I am currently at home often, so I'll have plenty of time to take care of your pet. I'll be able to make many runs over to check on your pet, or be able to stay with little to get in the way. If there ever is anything in the way, I will always be straight forward and communicate. I have a fenced in backyard and 3 dogs who are all very friendly. I never leave them alone and will always have an eye on them, so nothing goes wrong. I'm able to dog proof areas that may have problems, and keep anything dangerous well put of reach. I'm also able to have secure spaces incase dogs need to destimulate away from others. They will never be left alone unless I'm strictly given instruction.

“Vanessa was amazing with my shy kitty!! Summer usually takes a long time to open up to new people but she loved Vanessa right away :’) highly recommend this sweet and responsible sitter!!”

About: Hello, my name is Adam. I have been living in Humboldt county for six years. It's a beautiful place to explore and learn about nature. I enjoy spending time with our furry friends. We understand each other and get along great. Dogs, depending on health conditions, want to run and play and establish bonds with their pack. They want guidance and discipline coupled with novelty. No matter the size your pet is a wolf inside. Excercise, specifically running in formation, and playful socializing helps their mental well being. Dogs experience anxiety and boredom just like we do. Behaviors like excessive licking and barking could be signs that something's up. Allow me to take your best friend on daily adventures while reinforcing the commands and desired behaviors that you have already established.
About: I have pet-sat and house-sat since I was 18 years old. I love working with animals and helping others by caretaking responsibilities. I am energized and playful with both cats and dogs. I have many references for housesitting and pet sitting. I enjoy caretaking and stewarding peoples homes. I also enjoy being a helper and lightning others’ loads. My family dog passed away one year ago and I love any opportunity to connect with more dogs. They bring me so much joy and happiness. I am very patient and positive. Easy to communicate with. I am currently self-employed, doing jobs like dogsitting, dog walking, doula support, meal prepping and personal chef work so my schedule is very flexible and I can cater to your needs. I am a very respectful guest in other’s homes. I love to leave places better than when I first arrived. I enjoy playing with pets with their favorite toys or throwing the ball in the backyard. I am very available and flexible with my schedule so that provides ample opportunity for potty breaks, walking, playing and overall catering to pets’ needs.

Jolynn was really good with my cat, Cassie. She took good care of her while I was gone, was complete4ly respectful of my home, and sent pictures and updates twice each day. My cat loved her, and clearly misses her. I would choose Jolynn again in the future and recommend her to cat owners.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Fortuna. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
