“We had the most pleasant experience! This was our first time ever using Rover, and they made it such a positive one. They kept us updated throughout the day with pictures and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was obvious that our dogs were receiving lots of love and attention! We honestly felt like they were being spoiled the entire time! They truly went above and beyond for our pups and treated them as if they were their own. Their care, communication, and kindness made all the difference, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We highly recommend them and would absolutely trust them with our dogs again. ❤️🐾”

“My baby travels with me 98% of the time, he has frequent flyer miles! I am not blind, he's a spoiled (I hand feed him) only child (lives to be held, and needs attention). So when I had to leave him for 48 hours with someone I did not know, I was a little anxious, Amber really put my mind at ease within a few hours. She sent update pictures (which I loved the proof of life) of him chilling, sleeping and begging for treats. Then showed him getting some male bonding time with her husband. She kept me up to date on how Gizmo was eating and how he was acting. When I picked Gizmo up he was tired (in a good way) and I could tell he was well taken care of. He wasn't shaking from trauma, he was happy to see me, but content in this home. I will definitely use her again.”

“One huge advantage of having a sitter with kids is they're super chill lol..... Ashley has great flexibility and excellent experience with dogs. Loved her whole family. Milo came home played out and content.”

“Roger is a keeper, a gem! I told Roger Fudge has separation anxiety and can’t be left alone. Roger is very considerate and not just drop your dog and leave. When I dropped Fudge, he asked that I bring him to his backyard to keep him at ease and comfortable. Fudge sniffed around and marked his spot :). Then he showed us his home where Fudge will be staying for a week and introduced us to Cam gorgeous whippet. Roger kept us informed, walks him every day and never missed to send us pictures of Fudge’s day. When I had a conflict at work and had to asked last minute for Fudge could stay one more night, Roger was very accommodating. Roger gave Fudge a great home and attention, which puts as at ease that we know Fudge is in good hands in a good home. Thanks Roger for caring for Fudge.”

“Bryanne was amazing! She took very good care of my pup Apollo and he definitely seemed to have lots of fun! Very responsive and provided updates! We will definitely come back to her!”

“We are so thankful we found Kathy to watch our beagle,Kona. She is absolutely the best! We felt comfortable from the very first time we met Kathy during our Meet and Greet. She watched Kona for two days when we went out of town. Kathy kept us updated and sent pictures. Communication was awesome! She loves dogs and treats them like one of her own. Kona loved going for walks and playing with her dog Charleigh. We already have dates set for Kathy to watch Kona during our upcoming trips. She is truly amazing!”

“Rebecca was great! Her home is super nice and spacious! She let me have some updates on how Flynn was doing and let him run in her backyard. Flynn was super tired when he got home and if anyone can tire out my rambunctious puppy, then we will be booking again! Thank you so much, HIGHLY RECOMMEND! ☺️”

“Thank you Ainsley - it was wonderful to have complete peace of mind while we were away for more than a week from our anxious/nervous dog. He ate, slept, and exercised well and even got to socialize and learn from his role model, Ted! We can't wait to board again with Aisnley and Ted!”

“I received regular updates during Jayda’s stay. She was reluctant to leave me at dropoff but energetic and happy throughout the stay as evidenced in her pictures. Jessica and Nathan were welcoming and friendly. They were flexible with drop off and pick up times. I would 100% recommended them to anyone needing care for their fur baby! 😊”
“Our dog had a wonderful time with Danielle and her family over the Christmas holiday! She made him feel right at home ☺️ We would be happy to have him stay there again in the future!!”

“Jaclyn was absolutely fantastic! She took amazing care of our dog, kept us updated with photos, and went above and beyond - he even got a bath! Our puppy loved her, and we felt completely at ease while we were away. Highly recommend!”

“Ryne is fantastic! My two boys knew exactly where we were when we pulled up for drop off, and I know they are in good hands with each stay. Ryne will definitely be our first call for boarding moving forward!”

“Amanda and Ray were so kind and welcoming! They took such good care of Kobi and I could tell he had a good time! Their kids were also very loving towards Kobi! I will definitely be booking again in the future and recommend them to anybody!”

“Ashlee was great! Our sweet Raven warmed right up to her and her family, and was treated like one of their own fur babies. Ashlee was wonderful when our trip got extended by almost a full day, and kept us updated with pictures and videos. Would love to let Raven stay again in the future!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Fort Calhoun home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Fort Calhoun.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Fort Calhoun sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NE ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
