“Christina is such a sweet and caring person whom I trusted completely with Harley. She took care of him for 3 separate days. She was prompt and followed my instructions and sent updates and pictures throughout the day. She was available for all the days I needed her for. She was courteous and kept everything in my home neat. She is such a pleasure to work with, and I know Harley was so happy to see her. I definitely plan on hiring Christina again when I need someone to take care of Harley. Thank you!”

“Amazing sitter! This was our first time having Veronica sit with them and our babies loved her. She was very attentive and communicative all day, sending pictures and updates on one of our older girls who has an injury currently. We absolutely would use her again and recommend her highly!”

“First off, let me say from a very anxious dog mama to leave her babies, Rover made this entire experience seamless and very professional. Kasper was a godsend. Kasper took the time to meet my dogs prior to the booking. Kasper took every concern I had and made sure it was addressed. Not only did Kasper communicate through the whole booking, I received pictures upon pictures of my dogs. There was not one point in my time away when I didn’t know what was happening at my home and felt 100% secure. Kasper was beyond kind and loving to my dogs and I will definitely be using Kasper again. Anybody that needs someone to come and stay with your dogs in your own home, Kasper‘s the best. 150% satisfied and 200% endorse booking with Kasper!!”

About: Growing up in an animal loving home, I have had the responsibility of taking care of dogs, cats, fish, hermit crabs, birds, turtles, mice, Guinea pigs, and an iguana. Friends and family have relied on me to walk, feed, brush, clean, bathe, and play with their animals. I treat them as if they were my own and as if they were human. I currently work Monday to Friday 8-4:30pm and I am home on weekends. I am able to walk, feed, play, and follow potty schedules as you do in your home after work, on the weekends, or in my home for boarding. I do have owners who are ok with their dogs being in my home while I am at work but it is all about whatever you feel comfortable with! I have a fenced in yard with three house trained, dog friendly doggos. They get a walk everyday and let out as much as they need. My husband and I love to go in the backyard with them and run around or take them on adventures in the car. My dogs do sleep in our room, either in their beds or on our bed, whatever they prefer and that is the same option I will always give your dog. I can crate if needed/requested. Wally and Reed are fed three small meals a day, once in the morning, afternoon, and evening, but I know not everyone’s food schedule is this way. All feedings are separated from your dogs. My older dog has allergies and is given allergy medication daily as well as ear drops which makes me capable of following a medication routine. We also have a Furbo indoor camera that has all eyes on the dogs at all times and baby gates to separate large areas of our home just incase anything were to ever happen. There are times where I will be sitting other dogs as well as yours. All dogs are slowly introduced on leash in the backyard in a safe environment. I allow the dogs to take the time they need to settle in and get a feel and sense of smell of their surroundings. If an owner feels as though the stay will not work out, I am completely understanding. I would never want an owner or dog to ever feel uncomfortable in my home. If you are unsure of your dogs feelings toward other dogs, especially males, I always recommend a meet and greet in advance. I have never cared for a special needs animal, but I have taken care of very sick animals and making sure they are comfortable and accommodated for. If you have a special needs dog and are considering me, I would make all the accommodations necessary to make your pet feel right at home and comfortable.
About: My love for animals has always been very strong since I was little. I have experience with watching puppies and dogs, I also have a pup and will willingly provide care to your pet as if it were my own because pets are family. I’m currently working a part-time job and go to class Mondays/Wednesdays during the day. I can do overnights in your home, but we can work it out to what works best for us and your furry friend! I have a fenced backyard for your pet, i have a crate whenever you would like me to. I also have a camera in my home if I need to run out quickly, I am able to check on them.
About: Growing up, I have had so many family pets! I now have 3 dogs, 5 cats, and a bunny. All of which I love dearly. I can handle dogs over 100 pounds and any small dogs. I used to be a seasonal kennel attendant for an animal shelter, so cleaning/sanitizing, playing, walking, feeding, etc, is absolutely no problem. During this work, I was also rewarded with the responsibility of socializing stray animals as I was told I had a good approach with it. Nothing makes me happier than being able to care for animals, as it comes naturally to me at this point. Hello, my name is Catalina but I mainly go by Cat. I work as a part-time barista and do school fully online which allows me to have plenty of time for your furry friend! Mondays and Wednesdays I am completely free all day. Everyday besides those two I get out of work at 2:30 so if you need me all day on those days, advanced notice would be really appreciated. Safety and trust is the most important component to me when it comes to caring for animals. I will always care for any animal as if they were my own. My fur babies are big cuddle bugs and follow me everywhere I go. Sometimes they just like to chill out and other times they are quite crazy but I always have a great time with them either way!
About: Professional Athlete by night…Professional Belly-Rubber by day 🤪 I’ve spent my entire life around dogs and have extensive experience caring for both active dogs and seniors with special needs. I know how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, so I provide dependable care, lots of attention, regular updates, and plenty of love while you’re away. Whether your dog wants to play, walk, nap, or simply have a companion nearby, I’m happy to make them feel right at home. I had a family dog until 2019 and then rescued my Shiloh two months after. Shiloh had fear aggression and separation anxiety for the first year with me but i learned A LOT from that experience. Shiloh passed away June 6th, 2026 and if you knew her then you would know she went from being fearful to knowing she was safe. Shiloh was almost 11 and i had adopted her when she was 3. She was the only fur baby that was my own but i learned more from her than my family dogs! My dog walking availability is typically between 6:00 AM and 3:00 PM, making me a great option for morning walks, midday potty breaks, exercise sessions, and companionship while you’re at work. I am also available for doggy daycare and overnight stays on a limited basis depending on my training and competition schedule. My home is clean, pet-friendly, and designed to provide a safe, comfortable environment for visiting dogs. I have a large yard that gives dogs plenty of space to explore, play, and burn off energy while being closely supervised. I only accept a limited number of pets at a time so that each dog receives plenty of individual attention and care. Dogs will always have access to fresh water, comfortable resting areas, regular potty breaks, and lots of affection. Whether your dog enjoys active playtime outdoors or prefers a quiet place to relax, I strive to create a calm, safe, and stress-free environment where they feel right at home.
“Cat did an excellent job taking care of our two dogs! She is kind, patient, and you could tell she truly cared for them. We plan on using Cat again in the future. I loved the photos of my dogs she sent us! Thank you Cat. Susan Pierson”

“Five stars is not enough Leanne is a godsend. Our sitter canceled after we were 7 1/2 hours away. We were stuck with no one to care for our pup. Luckily, I found Leanne and she most graciously agreed to do it at the last minute. We got daily updates and our pup came home happy and healthy. I would recommend her to anyone worried about leaving their pet.”

Isabella was super friendly and my dogs loved her! My one dog has to take medicine every day twice a day at the same time and she made sure she gave him the meds at the right time and even texted me to let me know that they were given. She made sure to send me updates throughout the day to ease my anxiety about leaving them for a couple days. I will 100% be booking with her again if I go away for any reason. She was a delight!

Catalina is amazing! It's always nerve-wracking leaving pets with someone new. She came to meet them before we booked and made the transition as smooth as possible to my somewhat last minute sitting request and my pups loved her! We felt very comfortable leaving for our trip knowing they were in good hand. She dropped-in the morning we left before going to work, stayed the night, and dropped-in again after work the next day making their schedule as normal as possible and was great with them! She sent daily updates with pics, and was reachable during our entire trip. It gave us so much peace of mind. We would highly recommend her for anyone looking for a reliable pet-sitter and will definitely use her again in the future!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Forked River walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Forked River maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Forked River choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
