“Our mini golden retriever stayed an overnight with Kari and her sweet family. Cookie was embraced and became part of the family. She received great care and was very comfortable Cookie gave this dog airbnb a 5 star review. Thanks to Kari and her family. We hope to return again soon.”

“Alliyah was wonderful. She handled my 6 mo puppy great! Lovey became part of the family, she’s very social dog so that made me really happy. Her communication was consistent and very appreciated by me. Please do yourself and your pet a favor - call Alliyah!”

“A super great experience in a friendly and loving environment. Brenda and Chief seem to love each other and have a great time together. Thanks again, Brenda. See you next time!”

“Despite me having such a wonky and changing schedule, Wendy worked with me on times so awesomely. She sent me pics of my dog and i feel like he was taken care of amazingly. This was my first time doing something like rover and if I ever need a dog sitter again, I'm for sure coming back.”

“Joleen took care of our dog very gracefully. I booked at the last minute and our dog was greatly welcomed by Joleen, husband and their two dogs which were very friendly and playful for our dog. Our booking was for 9 days and received checkin texts and pictures on our pup with out being having to prompt Joleen to do so. When I had a question, Joleen was very expedient in answering my text. This was my first experience with Rover and it didn’t disappoint. Joleen and her husband are very nice people and enjoyed meeting them. Their house was very dog friendly by having pretty of room to run and play in the fenced in backyard. When we picked up our dog his demeanor was normal and showed he also liked being around Joleen. Would highly recommend Joleen as a sitter.”

“Marketa and her family were so sweet to Snickers and treated him wonderfully. He came home happy and healthy! I loved all the pictures and updates sent throughout the week. Definitely will use again in the future!”

“Very highly recommended! Chantal and her husband were great caretakers for our two dogs for a week’s time — even more than we could have expected. They have a beautiful, spacious, safe place — both indoors and for when they had to go outside. My husband and I felt 100% comfortable leaving them there while we were away. From the beginning during our meet-and-greet through pick-up at the end of our trip, we saw just how kind and calm they were, treating our dogs just like their own dog and providing lots of interaction and play. Also, Chantal was extremely accommodating of our 7 month old puppy’s “puppy behavior” and attentive to the need to go outside more frequently. She provided updates every day (and was very responsive to other questions) and we could see just how relaxed our pups were, as if they were staying with family. We are definitely planning on using Chantal’s services the next time we need to go out of town.”

“Layna was a great sitter for my dog. He is still young and active, and he came home ready for a restful evening after quick run around home. Upon returning home, I think my dog may have missed having another dog to occupy his indoor time. I will definitely use Layna for future bookings.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Forest
Kari and her family did an exceptional job of watching over our dogs while we were on vacation! We introduced them and got to see where they would be staying beforehand. We got daily updates and they helped break down and pack up everything neatly upon pickup. Our dogs were wore out and somehow even more well behaved afterwards!

We are so happy to have found Emily- I am no longer concerned about leaving our dog when we go out of town, because Emily sends regular updates and pictures, and we know she's in great hands! Drop off and pick up are a breeze, and our dog wags her tail every time we pull up to the house.

Second time using Krystal, and if I have my way about it, I will never use another dog sitter! She is far and away the BEST sitter we have ever used!!! The way she goes above and beyond to give our pooch extra love and affection and attention...it's absolutely amazing!! We love getting picture updates, and she and her family are always walking him, doing tricks, snuggling, playing! He LOVED going back there, and that just speaks volumes!! He was so excited when we pulled into their driveway!! It means so much to me that we don't have to worry about him at all when we are away! Krystal, you rock!!!! 🩷

Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
