Dog Trainer in Training!
I have raised dogs, cats, bunnies, hamsters and even a beautiful conure bird. My husband and I have been sitting since 2019. I was lucky enough to discover my passion while working at the Lynchburg Humane Society as an adoption counselor in 2018. At LHS I learned how to handle animals of all shapes and sizes! In the years following, I have completed a basic obedience training course through Penn Foster Career College, as well as engaged in an internship program with Dog Days Pet Services inc. under certified behaviorist Ron Herbert. I’ve dedicated my career to helping other people rebuild their relationship with their best friends. Sitting has been a wonderful way for me to connect with others while gaining hands on experience with so many different pets. Also I mean, who can resist a job where you get to play with tons of animals all day? It’s a dream! I have two young boys at home, Parker was born in March of 2022 and Oliver was born in August of 2024. While I am home with them, sitting has become my full-time job. I have been absolutely blessed with the opportunity to spend my days doing what I love! These boys have become my partners in crime (and unintentional interns).

We do like daily check in's with pics of Remo’s interactions with other dogs but I admit I did fail to mention that to Alliyah. It was fine, my dog was fine and was well taken care of, but I'd mention it to anyone booking a long trip, just so you know to set expectations upfront. Everything else was great and I would absolutely book again with Alliyah.
Alliyah took good care of my senior dog Zelda and called me with concerns about her not eating. I gave her a few tactics I use to get her to eat and she applied them and got her eating.

Our two Golden Retriever boys had a blast at their 4day sleepover at Alliyah’s! She kept us in the loop on how they were doing and was accommodating and flexible when we were able to get back into town and pick them up at an earlier time. We feel good having a great place to send our pups when they can’t join us!
Alliyah is wonderful! Ashe comes home happy as can be and obviously well cared for. I would gladly leave any of my animals with her without a second thought.
Aaliyah was amazing! She is incredibly knowledgeable, experienced, and so sweet. She was very attentive and immediately picked up on Reconquista’s behavior, which really impressed me. You can tell she truly understands dogs and genuinely cares about them. I felt very comfortable leaving Reconquista with her and will do so in the future! Highly recommend Aaliyah!!!!!

Schedule
I spend the majority of my free time studying dog behavior and training as well as spending time with my two pups at home! I would love to gain more hands on experience while also helping others. If I leave the home, it is typically for no more than 4 hours a day.

I own two, four year old dogs at home. I rescued them both when they were about 4 weeks old. I bottle fed one of the puppies and aided the delivery of the other puppy. I have potty trained, socialized, and taught basic obedience to both dogs throughout the last four years. We also have overcome a handful of medical issues.

A typical day
My daily activities mostly revolve around dogs! I personally take my dogs on walks 2 times a day if possible and frequently visit the Lynchburg dog park. Our favorite walk spots are Blackwater Creek trails and Percivals Island in downtown Lynchburg.
