“It has been quite a few months since I last traveled for work and it made me so happy to see how excited Buddie was to see Mike again. I am so grateful to have Mike, Amy and Bear to leave Buddie with because I know he is getting way more attention and love than he ever would at a conventional boarding place. I used to worry every day I was gone when I left him at boarding that wasn't getting enough attention or maybe he was cold at night when he was trying to sleep in a kennel, but those days are over.!!! I already have planned my business trips for the next six months based on when Mike is available. 100% recommend💜🐾”

“Megan was amazing with my pets, she make them feel save and comfortable just like back home. She kept me updated every single morning by sending me pictures. I'm very pleased with her services. I would recommend her 10 of 10. Thank you so much..!!”

“I can't say enough about Gillian and Mitch. Left my puppy fur almost a week during a move. She had so much fun with new friends and was so well taken care of . If you need someone please use Gillian and Mitch!”

“I'm thrilled that I found Maegan to care for my dog Finnigan when I go away. Finnigan's first overnight with Maegan was a complete success and I didn't have to worry about a thing! Finn loved her and he loved being with other dogs. I most definitely recommend Maegan as a caregiver for your fur baby!”

“I booked with Natt for a last minute thanksgiving trip and I’m glad I was able to have her watch my dog Coco for me while I was gone. The communication from start to end was great all the daily updates on my dog and the picture mail was amazing my dog was well taken care of I appreciate and thank you for everything. I will be booking again in the future.”
“Samantha and her partner were absolutely amazing. They are the best sitters I have met by far. I 10000/10 recommend. Samantha updated me throughout my dog's stay. I will definitely rebook.”

“Brad and Mery were so great ! Cinco walked right in and relaxed. When I picked him up he was the same ! Brad and Mery were responsive during the booking process and were”

“Kara was amazing with my two fur babies, while I was out of town. I didn’t have to worry leaving them and she checked in frequently and also sent me pictures. I highly recommend her and am very grateful and pleased. Thanks again”

“This lady and her husband are the best kept secret of Rover! My dog has typically refused to eat for the first day or two of boarding, but with Sue, she ate the first night, her tail was high and wagging! She was a happy little camper. I would recommend Sue, without any reservations. She truly cares for her boarded dogs- they do know who loves them. She will always be our first choice!!”

“I am so happy that I chose Jack for boarding my dog. I know my dog was well cared for and had fun with the other dogs in Jack's care. We had Jack do pick up and drop off. Jack was on time for both and it took the stress out of us having to do that part. It was totally worth the additional fee! I will use Jack again the next time I need to board my dog and am interested in using g his daycare options as well.”

“Mikayla was very good with communicating and sending pictures or videos daily. My pup seemed so happy during her stay and I can tell she was well taken care of. She was very attentive and helpful as well.”

“We needed a sitter on short notice and Anna was quick to reply! Our pup had a blast and she even gave us a cute goodie bag upon pickup. Provided timely updates and photos. Would book again!”

“Jillian is the only person outside my family that I can trust with my eldest border collie. He's a high maintenance dog who just needs that extra. It's nice to be able to travel without having to worry about him. She keeps me updated with photos and videos of the shenanigans. In addition she is kind, prompt and knows her stuff. Thank you so much Jill!!”
“This was our first time using this type of service versus a boarding facility and I wish I had known about Rover in the past. After reading reviews on so many we decided to board with Tiffany and we are so glad we did. It was a nice feeling while away, we knew our two dogs were safe, were not locked in kennels and were able to run around and play with her dogs like they were part of the family. Being in a home setting versus a kennel, I'm sure was much less stressful on them as well. Many times at boarding facilities there is constant barking and chaos, so a home setting is the way to go. I'm also sure our boys received some one on one attention and petting from Tiffany and not for an extra fee like the facilities charge. As long as Tiffany will have them back, her home is the only place I will take them when we travel.”

“Ginger took excellent care of Millie during our vacation. I was very nervous as this was her first time away from home. We were looking for someone who would love Millie as much as we do, Ginger is that perfect person! She is kind and loving and treated Millie like her own. We had a meet & greet with Ginger and Ranger (Ginger's sweet dog) prior to our boarding. This helped put my mind at ease that our pup would be well cared for. During the boarding Ginger provided me with daily updates and pictures. Millie was very happy during her stay and well cared for. I will definitely be using Ginger again in the future, she is just wonderful.”

“David was incredibly responsive, kind and easy to work with! He took on my elderly 16 year old pup within a 24 hour notice after we found out our Airbnb didn’t allow dogs :( He took great care of her and sent daily updates which we really appreciated! She felt right at home with him and he made us feel very comforted knowing she was in good hands! Will definitely rejoin with him in the future :)”

“John was amazing! Super responsive, even to a last-minute/ day-of booking! He took wonderful care of our lil Roxy, and sent lots of updates and photos throughout the days, which we so appreciated :) She’s 15 years old and can sometimes be a little skiddish, but she took right to him and he made her feel right at home. He’s a great dog sitter and was very kind and caring, will definitely be booking with him again!”

Every sitter on Rover has their own rhythm and routine, but most will follow the flow that keeps your dog happiest. Sitters can give meals on your dog's regular schedule, provide a comfortable place for sleep, and plenty of one-on-one attention.
97% of Fonda sitters also include daily walks in the neighborhood during dog boarding stays. You can also request photo and message updates throughout the stay so you can see which Fonda landmarks or neighborhoods your dog is enjoying.
If your dog is a little shy, consider booking a one-night trial stay! This practice run can boost your and your dog’s confidence before your trip.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Fonda home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Fonda.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Fonda sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
