“Megan was awesome with Wanda. She loved her time at camp playing with friends. Meagan kept us up to date sending us photos of our baby every day. Coming back we got stuck in heavy traffic and she was so understanding about it. We will definitely rebook! We felt so much better knowing that she was cared for while we were away.”

“Once again Gillian and family went above and beyond taking care of Cooper. He was there for almost 2 weeks, with eye medication and a limited appetite; Gillian didn’t hesitate to say yes to watching Cooper, making him his own meals some days, rinsing his eyes and figuring out the best way to put the eye drops in. I always know that Coop is getting the best care and being treated just like part of the family. Thank you so much Gillian, Mitch and all the pups that make him feel at home. 🩷”

“We were so blessed to find Sue with such late notice. Our little bear means so much to us but the Airbnb we were staying at didn’t allow pets. Sue took him in without hesitation and opened up her home with so much love and kindness for our senior pup. He felt right at home doing all of his normal habits as if he were staying with family. We loved that she sent us videos and pics through out his stay to ensure he was taken care of. I highly recommend Sue and if you are looking for the best sitter to look after your fur baby. She is clearly an animal lover and will only provide the best service! If we are ever in the area and need help looking after our little bear we know who to call. Thank you for everything Sue we are so grateful for you!”

“Kathleen took excellent care of my chihuahua, Cody. Over the course of a month, I boarded him with her a few times each week, and I always felt confident he was in great hands. She was responsive, kind, and incredibly patient, not just with my (very energetic!) chihuahua 🙃, but with me as well. I’m so grateful for the care she provided and would highly recommend Kathleen to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter.”

“Natthinee B is definitely a 5 star. This was my first time leaving my fur brother with anyone while we went away. We received updates twice a day along with beautiful pics. The meet & greet was very good!….. I knew from then it was going to be a lovely experience for my fur brother. Thank you, Natthinee for making fun and feeling like a home for my Frisco.🧡🦋…. Props to your husband as well!🧡”

“Tiffany was wonderful with our dog Wyatt. We could see how much he loved being at her home and she took excellent care of him. She was frequently communicating with us as how he was doing which we greatly appreciated. I think Wyatt really enjoyed the big fenced in back at her house. We will definitely be using her again. We highly recommend Tiffany!”

“This is our 3rd or 4th time booking with John and he never disappoints! He is always such a pleasure and was even able to help us out last minute AND over a holiday weekend! He takes such great care of our elderly dog who usually doesn’t do well in new environments. We are so thankful to have found John :)”

“Mary was amazing to work with! She is very accommodating, even on short notice. Our dog had a comfortable stay in her home and seemed very happy in her care! Highly recommend using Mary’s services!”

“Tatiana was great with our Bandit. We're always uneasy about leaving him with strangers, but Tatiana put any fears away. She made us feel comfortable from the start, and Bandit seemed to have enjoyed his stay. We would highly recommend Tatiana and hope she is available next time we're in Schenectady.”

About: Had 3 jack russell terriers growing up, now I have a black lab/terrier puppy. I have a lot of experience with dogs. I have plenty of dog toys to play with and a nice grass yard out back. I work full time but come home for an hour in the middle of the day for lunch. I am free weekends and take my pup on walks on the nearby canal frequently I have a fenced yard out back of my house and a very dog friendly living space. My dog gets along great with others and loves to play.
“Ginger was amazing with Otis. It was our first time leaving him but she assured us with daily updates, pictures and videos. He had a wonderful time playing with Ranger and really settled in nicely. Definitely recommend Ginger and will book with her again in the future.”

“Lianna was amazing. This was my first time using Rover and Lianna helped relieve any anxiety I had. Great communication, pictures sent multiple times a day, and answered any questions I had in a timely fashion. I 100% recommend her for your next fur baby stay.”
“This was my first time using a dog sitter. Kimberly exceeded all my expectations! She checked in and sent pictures of our dog multiple times during his stay. I felt comfortable that our dog was safe and well taken care of. I will definitely be booking again!”

“Amelia was simply amazing. This was my first time using a service like this and she put my heart at ease. My dog connected with her instantly and Amelia showed her unconditional care. Amelia stayed in contact with pictures and updates every day, was quick to respond and treated my baby like a princess. She went above and beyond. I HIGHLY recommend her. She is trustworthy, communicates well and genuinely cares about your pet. Thank you Amelia!!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Sammonsville home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Sammonsville.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Sammonsville sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
