“Diana looked after our kitties when we went out of town. She made sure they had food and water, cleaned their litter boxes, loved on them, and helped take care of the house when our mini ac unit was leaking. She did more than was required of a pet sitter ❤️”

“Elizabeth was really communicative during her drop in and proactive about finding out what things I'm working on with Baka in his training. It definitely helps me to feel confident leaving him in her hands! Thanks for your help!”

“I couldn’t be more grateful for Emily’s drop ins during my 1st time away from my pack of 4! It was evident that everyone was well taken care of and I loved receiving pictures/videos for my own peace of mind. Emily went above and beyond and her ability to understand the various personalities of my pets was so impressive!”

“My cats have been noticeably less stressed since having Nina drop in when I’m outa town. Nina stays sometimes longer than contracted and sends updates and tons of photos, makes my time away from home that much more easy. 100% would recommend giving Nina an opportunity to take care of your pet children!”

“Jenny is very reliable and my kitty, Squirrel loved her. Upon returning from a weekend away, Squirrel was very content and comfortable. Jenny shared lots of photos and updates and went above and beyond what was requested of her.”

About: As a lifelong animal lover, I’ve had the incredible privilege of caring for a wide variety of pets. From a hamster, gerbil, guinea pig, and rabbit to ducks, four cats, and three amazing dogs, my home has always been full of furry (and feathered) friends. Two of my beloved dogs, Frank and Ginger, taught me the importance of patience and attentive care, as they both required daily medications—Frank for a heart condition and Ginger for allergies. It wasn’t always easy, especially with Ginger's picky eating habits, but with dedication, we made every day count. I’ve also spent countless hours volunteering at animal shelters, including walking dogs as well as working with cats. These experiences have deepened my passion for ensuring animals feel safe, loved, and well cared for. Currently, I’m a proud dog mom to Tanner, a four-year-old rescue from Desert Hot Springs and Tiki, a three-year-old local rescue. They are my loyal companions, road trip sidekicks, and hiking partners. In addition to my hands-on experience, I’m also certified in small animal massage from the Northwest School of Animal Massage, which I completed in February 2023. I’m excited to bring this holistic approach to pet care, ensuring your pets feel relaxed and nurtured during their time with me. I look forward to caring for your pets with the same love, dedication, and expertise I’ve given to my own. I am available for drop-in visits to care for your pets on most days. Whether you need someone to feed, walk, or simply spend time with your furry friends, I am here to help ensure they receive the love and attention they deserve while you are away. I am excited to share that I reside on a fully fenced 2-acre property in Landers, which provides an ideal environment for pets to run and explore. With ample space, it truly feels like an amusement park for dogs! The open layout features very few obstacles, allowing them to run freely and safely while always remaining within my line of sight. Additionally, the pets in my care will have open access to both residences located within the fenced area, ensuring they have a comfortable and secure environment. This setup not only promotes physical activity but also allows for plenty of social interaction and playtime, making it a perfect place for your furry family members to enjoy their time while you are away.
“We were in Joshua Tree for a few days. LeeAnn was punctual, flexible with our changing schedule and, most importantly, was great with our shy dog. We appreciate her willingness to work with us!”

“I absolutely loved Salina and would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone. Even when she had a hiccup in her schedule, she let me know right away, we worked it out, and she always made me feel like I had the best caretaker for my lil beebs. Heck yes and please book her!!”
About: I have experience caring for dogs and cats, both young and old. I have lovingly cared for dogs with blindness, diabetes and thrombocytopenia, and my last personal cat who lived 19 beautiful years. I have two dogs at home that I walk daily. I am a licensed cosmetologist, a watercolor artist and an avid reader. I have flexible availability to care for your pets. I will care for your pet as if it were my own. I will follow all of your feeding and playtime rules and make sure you pet feels safe and comfortable.
“Katie is an awesome caretaker! She set up a meet and greet right away, and was kind and attentive to our two older dogs, one of whom is blind and needs extra assistance and love. We were super grateful she was able to accept our emergency request for drop-in visits, and we will certainly invite her back again next time we need a sitter. Thank you so much!”

About: I’ve taken care of animals since I was 13. I’ve volunteered at no kill shelters and kennels for 5 years. I currently have two fur babies now (both rescues) and my mother always had about 8 in her home. I’ve taken care of dogs from tea cup to Great Danes. I also have cared for dogs with diabetes, who were blind, and have cerebral palsy. I work full time (Mon -Fri) in the lower dessert, live in JT. I’m home around 4/4:30pm each day. Of course your baby will be the first one that I see once I’m off of work and before I go into work. As a dedicated pet caregiver, I prioritize each animal's well-being and comfort while following your specific instructions. I ensure they receive regular feeding, fresh water, and ample exercise through walks or playtime. I’m attentive to their unique needs, whether it’s administering medication, maintaining a routine, or simply providing companionship. I also keep their environment clean and safe, giving you peace of mind while you’re away. Your pets are not just animals; they’re family, and I’ll treat them with the love and care they deserve!
About: I have taken care of pets since an early age. We have had surgeries, Iv care and shot and medication experience. I have trained puppies and dogs and shown dogs that have won titles. I currently do pet and people portraits while I’m pet sitting and the dogs are napping. I have an elderly dog and two younger Labradors that live here. I also have vegetable gardens, gardens and lawn I water every 3-4 days. Taking care of cuddlers is my life💕 I have 7 snake wire fenced yards. Two have lawns. One yard with a large patio and dirt and shade and the other areas have sawdust so the dogs won’t burn their feet. I also have three larger areas for winter runs. The fencing is 6’ high except in the large lawn area. It is 4.5’.
About: Hi I’m Serena! I’m currently in my master’s program at CSULB! I work hard and give so much love to every single one of my client’s fur babies depending on all their needs. I've grown up with 5+ dogs in my lifetime and taken care of dogs and cats of every kind and size since I was 10. Neighbors, friends, and family have trusted me with their pets while they were on vacation to walk, feed, and administering their medication (both orally and injections) to their pets. I've taken animal CPR and have lots of experience with senior care with three senior dogs. I’m current attending college at CSULB but I am available in the mornings and evenings for drop in visits. For overnight or extended stays I am available Sunday-Saturday. I will care for them in your home and follow the instructions given to feed and drop in visits. If they are allowed outside, I will go outside with them and keep an eye on them both day and night. I will never let them outside on their own due to safety reasons. If discussed and allowed to housesit, I will keep your pets company for hours doing my quiet hobbies (Reading, drawing, etc.) since my pets tend to dislike being alone in the house for long periods of time.

About: I have a wide variety of experience. Fostering shelter animals, caring for day old baby kittens. I've had ferrets and most everything else. Except I'm not fond of snakes. I will leave the area better then when I arrived.

Can not say enough amazing things about Emily. She is caring, attentive, and overall an amazing human. My dogs have some quirks (also read I have anxiety about their quirks), and Emily flawlessly eased all of these with her communication and thoroughness during the initial visit and every single check in. 11/10 would recommend!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
