“Phineas did a great job watching Dude. He spent ample time with him, and played fetch consistently. Dude has been looking for him since we got back. Highly recommend Phineas for dog/house sitting. He communicated well and we felt confident Dude was well taken care of. He left our house clean and our dog happy. Thanks Phineas!”

“Ashley was absolutely amazing! She took the time to come meet my wife and me (and the dogs!) ahead of time, asked great questions, and showed real enthusiasm about caring for our pups. She kept us updated with photos and messages the whole time, and we felt completely comfortable knowing they were in great hands. She even grabbed our mail and packages for us. Highly, HIGHLY recommend!”

“Daniel was so helpful during his stay at our house! He helped bring the garbage in, collected our packages that were delivered while we were gone and even helped water our plants. We recieved daily pictures and updates about the animals and even an update of wind damage our property endured while we were hone. We will happily have Daniel help us again with our future trips!”

About: I have lived with many different dogs over the years and like being around them. I currently don't own a dog because I live in an apartment and want to have a yard if I plan on owning one. So walking and caring for them gives me the experience I need for my own someday. Right now it's just part time but by summer I am hoping for full-time. I can take Dogs for walks or spend time playing with them. I am also more than willing to pet sit if needed. I also enjoy just chilling with cats. I currently do not own any pets although I have owned cats and horses in the past. I am currently just enjoying taking care of others peoples pets as that fits my lifestyle best at the moment. I am more than willing to give meds if needed and if I am sitting with take time to walk dogs or cats if they need it. I also don't mind grooming daily if needed as well.
“Yasenia was amazing! She was so great caring for my dog and cat while I was gone. She communicated well, sent me videos and pictures to ease my anxiety of leaving my pets. She even taught my dog a new trick! I would 100% use her again.”

“Our meet and greet went well and Autummn inquired about various things to ensure Leo would be well taken care of. He was a happy tired our pup when we got home. Definitely recommend!”

“Michael has watched our dogs (a pitbull and a corgi) twice now, and he's been great with them! We just got back from about a week of vacation, so it was nice to come home to happy dogs and a clean house!! Thanks again, Michael!! Highly recommend having him watch your pets!”

“Hannah watched our two large dogs while we were away for the weekend. They were tired and happy when we got home as she ensured lots of exercise and activity. She gave frequent updates!”

About: Growing up my family always owned one or two golden retrievers at a time and instantly fell in love with the breed. I worked at a dog boarding/day care facility for about 3 years. I’ve worked with many different types of breeds along with all sorts of temperaments. With that came taking care of dogs of ALL ages. I’ve handled up to 15 large dogs at a time, also handling cats. Absolutely loved my job and hope to continue working with animals:) I work at a School in Grand Haven, Monday-Friday till around 4p.m. (Sometimes later) So, my evenings are open to walks & drop-ins. My weekends are still available for house sitting, drop-ins, and walks! In the summer there is lots more availability! I was lucky enough to grow up with a mom that did full time pet sitting at one point and got to tag along on all her trips. I also pet sit for family and friends. Including overnights, walks, and administering medications, eye drops, pills, ect. So, I know how important it is to be mindful of someone’s else’s home and their four-legged (sometimes three) loved ones.
“Good communication. Clearly loves animals and gave our babies lots of love while we were gone. Stayed overnight and left the house in good condition. Would definitely have them again!”

About: I take care of dogs and cats of all ages! Before booking, I love to schedule a meet and greet so that your pet can get comfortable with me and provide the opportunity to ask me any questions related to pet caretaking. I will be happy to match your pets’ typical routine, diet, habits, and learn their personality! As a pet parent, I understand the need for assurance when my pet is in someone else’s care. I will send daily photos/videos to update you on your pet’s behavior, activity, and well-being, while you’re away! I have lots of experience handling high energy dogs (as most of the dogs I care for are Golden Retrievers). Also, I am able to give your dog or cat oral medication. I value communication, so I try my best to respond to you as soon as possible. It is my mission to make your pet feel comfortable & loved… Just like their humans never left! I’m currently available full time which allows me to give my full attention to your pet. I enjoy daily walks- So taking your pup on a walk or incorporating play time would not alter my normal routine. Our day starts with breakfast, followed by a nice walk. My dog loves playing fetch, so we often add that in for extra engagement and exercise. When needed, I give my dog a bath and a good brushing to help manage shedding.
About: Hello and welcome to my profile! My name is Miranda. I am 28 years old and am a college graduate. Currently, I am between careers and am off to provide quality care for pets in the meantime. I have had pets all my life, mostly cats and fish. I care for my boyfriend's dog on a daily basis, giving her treats, cuddling, walking, and playing with her. Sometimes my grandma has me come over to take care of her cats and dog. Her dog is aggressive towards people he does not know, but is okay once he gets to know you. Her cats used to take oral medicine, therefore I have a bit of experience administering it. Animals are a must have for me. Outside of their sleep, pets deserve a lot of attention and that is something I am willing to provide. From energetic pets to laid back pets, I will be able to fit to their needs. I can provide great service to the pets I care for and their owners. Depending on what day it is, I am available to do a meet and greet with you and your pet to discuss its needs and what you, as the owner, expect from me. Do not hesitate to message me with any questions you have! Currently I am off work and have more time to offer my pet care services. If I have something going on, I’m able to be flexible with both my plans and services. Right now, I am just applying to work, interviewing, and doing online assessments. This doesn’t take away too much time to care for pets as these things are flexible with timing!
About: I have 10 years experience watching hobby farms. Most of my time is spent watching pigs and chickens. I worked at a horse farm this past year handling 40+ horses a day. I frequently administer meds to various animals. I have a very flexible schedule to ensure your pets needs are met. I currently work for myself and can adjust my schedule according to your needs. I typically do 2-3 visits for daytime and need up to 6 hours at any point in the day for work. I prefer to spend as much time as possible with your pet to ensure their routine does not change and can adjust my schedule accordingly.

About: I’ve taken care of cats and animals my whole life. Growing up I always have had animals in my house. I love them and care for any animals deeply. I have cared for puppies, older dogs, etc. You name it! I would love to be apart of your furry friend’s life and give you an extra hand. Pet care is part of my weekly routine through feeding, walking, playing with, and caring for pets while owners are away. I balance responsibilities by staying organized, dependable, and attentive to each pet’s needs. I provide pets with a safe, comfortable, and fun environment by giving them plenty of attention, exercise, and playtime. I have a large yard, kennels if needed, and lots of toys to keep pets active and happy while following each owner’s care instructions.

Walking them when needed, and ensuring my services are quality and live up to what we promised to offer.
“Jessica was so good with Tork. He can be a little shy but he took to her right away. I appreciated how she gave me regular text/photo updates while I was away. I would definitely recommend her to my dog parent friends.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Ferrysburg
Ashley was wonderful! She sent me photos of her and my cat Virginia hanging out together. She assured me daily that everything was going well. I would highly recommend her to anyone that loves their animal as much as I love mine. My home looked great as well. It was nice to come home and just relax!

Phineas did a wonderful job watching George and the house. George is a senior dog with some with some medical issues that challenge his mobility. Phineas moved the furniture and spent time sitting on the floor to give George attention and break down his reticence towards new people. He also displayed that patience with him on walks and playing fetch.

Cassie was fantastic. We have an Australian Shepherd who can be selective with people, and Lucy bonded with Cassie almost immediately. She was attentive, responsible, and genuinely cared for Lucy the entire time we were away. We were upfront that we have security cameras in the house, and everything we saw only reinforced how great Cassie was. She spent real time with Lucy, took her on walks, cuddled her, and treated her like her own dog. Cassie was very responsive, sent frequent updates and great photos, and gave us complete peace of mind. Most importantly, Lucy was calm, comfortable, and clearly happy. We would absolutely trust Cassie again and highly recommend her.

Emily went above and beyond with my kitties, Marv and Maisy. First time I’ve used Rover and I was relieved at how much of a good job Emily was doing and giving me amazing daily updates. I haven’t been gone that long and my cats are as normal as they can be when I got home rather than being stand-off ish and hiding. Highly recommend Emily to take care of your pets.

Devastated that this is the last 5 star review we can give Maria as she is wrapping up as a dog sitter. She has been our go to sitter for several years now, and our dogs absolutely adore her and her boyfriend. Congratulations Maria, and good luck on the next phase of your life!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ferrysburg walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ferrysburg maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ferrysburg choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
