About: Hello! My name is Izzy, Iâm 21 years old, and Iâm going into my senior year at Penn State while working at Ritaâs Italian Ice in Cranberry Twp. Iâm so excited to start my Rover journey! Iâve grown up with having dogs in my household all my life, from a 4 1/2 lb. Chihuahua to a chunky Toy Fox Terrier to a mighty but loving Rottweiler-Black Lab mix. Iâve also been tasked with taking care of my neighborâs and friendâs dogs over the years, whether that be stopping over to give them food, bathroom breaks, and cuddles, or even staying overnight over the span of a week so the dog(s) donât feel alone. Therefore, Iâm hoping to be the best fit for you, too! Outside of dogs, I love to be in our pool when the weather is warm and being able to do so with my family, pick up new crafting hobbies like scrapbooking or embroidery, and go to concerts of a variety of artists (43 concerts and counting!), most recently being 5 Seconds of Summer. I canât wait to start this opportunity and hopefully bring some relief to someone in need of dog-helping needs! Iâm currently working part-time at Ritaâs Italian Ice in Cranberry Twp., and the schedule always fluctuates between 4-6 hour shifts. I donât have set days, but Iâm typically scheduled one weekday and the Friday-Sundays, However, I have plenty of time outside of those shifts and always accommodate around them to ensure that all the dogâs needs are met. At home, I assist in letting our dogs play in our fenced-in backyard, giving them treats when theyâve behaved or done a trick weâve taught them (sit and âpawâ), taking them on neighborhood walks when itâs nice outside, assuring that their food and water are filled, and playing with them to get their zoomies out before everyone starts winding down for the night. Outside of my home, if there is not a fenced-in backyard, Iâve taken the dog(s) outside on leashes for bathroom purposes, as well as do all actions mentioned above from what I do at home. Some houses have also had puppy pads when necessary, and I always take appropriate measures to clean up any messes and re-lay down a fresh puppy pad.

âWe hired Erin to care for our three-year-old tuxedo cat, Lilly, for six nights. As first-time clients, we appreciated how regularly she kept us informed. She often shared photos and videos, and her strong communication skills made us feel completely at ease while we were away. Although she works primarily as a dog sitter, it was clear that she and Lilly quickly bonded - the photos showed the feeling was mutual. Erin also helped with a few household tasks, including setting out the garbage and watering our plants while we were gone. We returned to a tidy, well-kept home and a happy, well cared for cat. We wouldnât hesitate to hire Erin again. In fact, we think Lilly already misses her. Thank you, Erin!â

âLeslie did a wonderful job with my big guy over the weekend! He adored her and he got lots of snacks and play time. She sent lots of pictures and I was able to enjoy my weekend away knowing my dog was in good hands.â

âMila far exceeded our expectations. She did a wonderful job with our fur babies and communication with us was phenomenal. We would use her services again without hesitation.â

âAyla was quick to respond to my booking request, attentive to all my requests and my dogâs needs, and was great about sending updates throughout her housesitting stay. I plan to book with Ayla again later this summer.â

âAnna took great care of Finn while we were away! He got more exercise than usual, and we know he misses her! She was a great companion for him and was very respectful of our home. We appreciated the daily updates and excellent photos - we will request Anna again for future trips!â

âIzzy took care of our two dogs and four rabbits while we were on vacation. She was very attentive to the needs of all of the animals and communicated with us before we left and throughout the six days that we were gone. It was such a relief to not have to send our dogs to the kennel like we did a few times in the past before connecting with Izzy on the Rover app. Izzy is very professional, punctual, and reliable. She even sent us photos of the dogs.? We will surely be using Izzy in the future.â

About: I have had dogs and cats my whole life, my parents have a blue heeler/husky mix currently that I take care of weekly, walk and love. I have had experience with puppyâs, abandoned dogs, foster dogs and senior dogs. As well as over 20 different breeds. I have walked my neighbors dogs my whole life and want to help out others and give pets the love and care during the day that they deserve! I do have a full time flexible job that is work from home. I am able to set my own schedule and I am able to help those and their pets who donât have as flexible of a schedule and thatâs what I am here to do! I have a safe neighborhood dog walking friendly. Or usually choose to walk dogs where their owners usually take them so they are comfortable while walking or being taken care of by a new face! Try to keep everything as normal as the pet is used to by their owner.
âBacchus is a senior dog who loves to stay in his own home. He does not do well staying over at someoneâs house or kenneled. Kaitlyn stayed at our house while we went on vacation and provided all the love and care needed for him. She sent us daily updates and pictures. And always responded if I had a question. She had no problems following Bacchusâs schedule of daily treats ( heâs a treat boy!). We came home to happy dog and a spotless home! She even cared for my outside flowers which was a challenge in the hot temps. She did a great job both inside and out! I definitely recommend Kaitlyn and will ask her to pet sit the next time we need her.â

âBrianna is a godsend and a true joy! So knowledgeable, patient, understanding, & kind. My 1 year old lab has lots of puppy energy and she is well versed in handling all doggy personalities. She is timely with responses and bookings and truly goes the extra mile with everything she does from understanding your dog's needs to taking care of your home in your absence. She keeps you informed with updates and photos of your fur babies and ensures your home is clean & tidy. It was wonderful returning to my house completely in order and my doggies relaxed from playtime. Wholeheartedly recommend and am looking forward to having her as my go-to for sitting with my babies!â

âIf you need a house/dog sitter, look no further! Lauren was absolutely awesome. We have a 100lb Doberman who is very sweet but he is high energy and can be a lot to handle for people not used to large high energy dogs. Lauren took care of him with no issues at all while staying at our house for 5 nights. She gave him regular walks and spent a ton of time with him. She also was great at sending pictures and updates. Finally, she took great care of our house and respected our rules. She was great all around!â

âLuke is a very kind, and professional. He took care of our 3 dogs while my husband was having his lumbar surgery and I stayed at a hotel. We kept in contact with each other. When I returned the house was in the same condition before we left and the dogs were in a calm state of mind when we returned. Royce kept looking out the sliding glass door for Luke to return. I'm so happy they got along for Royce don't take to just anyone but they both found a forever buddy and we hope to have Luke around again for his services. I had no worries. He showed up on time and was ready to work very early. Thanks Luke for all your help, Lee and I and the dogs are forever grateful for your help. Thank you, Tammy, Lee, Royce,Ruby and WeeWee.â

âNicole watched our dog for 8 days in our home and did an amazing job! She is awesome with our anxious Shorty girl! She is also very respectful and thoughtful while in our home and goes above an beyond. We highly recommend Nicole :)â

About: I have been taking care of dogs for years as Iâve trained my own dog to be a service dog when she started as a rambunctious puppy. I have had dog aggressive dogs who Iâve helped them be able to overcome those issues. I as well am able to be very active and can handle large dogs as I have a mastiff and Great Dane of my own. I currently work part time in retail. But would love to get out and get another job that I will enjoy. So I will have a functional schedule that I can always work around with to cooperate with my clients. I will only be going to my clientsâ homes which will make sure that your pet is comfortable and I can work with those who may have dog aggressive dogs. I have experience with them and use positive reinforcement with treats for bad behavior.

About: I have grow up with multiple dogs of all sizes, ages, and temperaments my whole life and also have cared for others pets for several years! I currently have two fur babies of my own, Mylo and Jazzy, whom I love dearly! Mylo is a cuddly King Charles Spaniel who I have raised from a puppy and Jazzy is a beagle mix who I rescued when she was 3 ! I am currently working from home which gives me ample time to provide your pets with the care they need! Anna was fantastic! She was very accommodating, professional, and a joy to work with during our time together. Our fur baby doggie loved her. She followed our schedule to a T and sent pictures and updates daily. My husband & I had zero anxiety while she was dog sitting for us. Five star for sure!!

Mila is wonderful and worth every penny! She stayed in our home for several days and took great care of our dogs while sending regular updates. The pups clearly loved her despite forcing her to give them several baths due to their rough housing in the backyard. She kept an eye on the house, packages, plants, you name it. We will certainly use her again and highly recommend her as being trustworthy and thorough.

FAQs for House Sitting - Fernway
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Fernway on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 1,404 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Fernway. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitterâs presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fernway walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your homeâs security or appliances.
Itâs helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fernway maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate theyâll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your petâs profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fernway choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Roverâs commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justiceâs National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Fernway. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 91% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
