“First off, I am Shari’s husband, but I am writing this from an objective point of view, not because we are married. When we were stationed in Texas, I suggested she work somewhere close to Hood to make it easy for her since we lived on post. Shari insisted on finding a job she cared about, specifically she wanted to work with animals. She interviewed at a dog grooming and boarding facility called the Dog Spot in Salado, about 45 minutes away. Very soon after starting work there, she was promoted to manager. It was obvious to the owners Shari was passionate about animals and went above and beyond in her duties. She streamlined the front office procedures to have extra time for making the stay as enjoyable as possible for the guests (the four legged ones). I would accompany her on Saturdays so we could spend time together but instead she put me to work, I have a pretty demanding job but let me tell you I was exhausted when we would be done for the day. I noticed how the pet parents would interact with Shari, they would treat her like family. We left Texas in February of 2017 to PCS to Bragg. To this day we receive holiday cards from folks that boarded their dogs at the Dog Spot, this is how much of an impact Shari had made while there. She treated all the dogs (and cats, they would board all types of animals) like they were her own. We volunteered with the Austin Boxer Rescue while there and some folks that boarded with the Dog Spot ended up adopting some of our fosters through Shari because of the work she did while managing the business. I can say with full confidence your fur children will be in great hands with Shari, she is one of a kind.”
