“Kendall loved my fur babies over the weekend and I couldn’t be more pleased! This was my first Rover experience and it was absolutely awesome! Kendall will be who I’d love to watch them again for sure.”

“Stephanie had such a winsome way with my cat who was shy at first. When I returned from being away a few days, Minnie was just her sweet normal self: evidence of being well cared for in my absence. I also appreciated Stephanie's notes and photos which she sent from her every visit to my house. Thank you, Stephanie, for your excellent "Minnie Minding." :-)”

“Maria was fantastic! Very communicative with updates about our kitties and included lots of pictures. She was very professional and was best friends with our more timid cat by the end of the week. Highly recommend!”

About: I rescued Griffin in 2016 from a shelter in North Carolina. Since then we’ve worked a lot on his fears and training - all self-taught/trained. I have experience both with oral medications, and injections (although the only injections I've ever had to do were on cats). I worked at a vet clinic briefly for a summer helping out with the animals that had to stay overnight. On the weekends, your pet will get plenty of play time with me. During weekdays, I am available to stop by for quick 30 minutes walks, letting your pet out for the bathroom, and feeding. I work 9am-5pm Monday through Friday so services will be worked around that or during my lunch hour. I love animals, especially rescues, and look forward to meeting your pet! I work full-time for the State but I work remote 2 days per week and have a flexible schedule to allow me to be home on days that aren’t my normal 2 work from home days. Weekends I am around and will be able to give your pet all the care they need. I want your pet to feel as comfortable as possible so I always let them check out my place before releasing my dog from my bedroom. I’ll set up your pet’s bed or they can use any of the ones I have for my dog. Nothing is left out that your pet could be injured on as I have a dog of my own.

About: I have 9 years of experience caring for animals and have worked at two boarding kennels for over 3 years. I have experience caring for dogs of different ages, sizes, and personalities. I am comfortable with feeding, walking, bathing, cleaning, giving attention, and keeping pets safe and comfortable. I work part-time, but I have a flexible schedule and can make time for pet care. I’m available for drop-ins, walks, and boarding depending on my work schedule. I graduate in December so my schedule will free up even more! I have over 3 years of professional experience working at boarding kennels, so I understand how important safety and supervision are. I provide a clean, calm, and comfortable environment and treat every pet with care and patience. I unfortunately cant really have pets over at my house due to having a reactive dog and a bird
“Ann Marie has been a life-saver! She has been checking in on my dog Ruby for weeks now and has always been so flexible and communicative with me! Definitely recommend! 🙂”

About: I’ve always loved animals and have three dogs of my own. With 5 years of care experience, I understand how important it is for pets to feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I’m comfortable caring for dogs with different personalities, energy levels, and routines. I’ll follow your instructions, keep your pets happy, well cared for, and provide updates while you’re away. I am currently in college. I have multiple days that I’m capable of visiting and taking care of your beloved furry family member. I’m completely capable of working around your schedule to fit mine as well. I’m available all weekends! Im routine oriented, and very adaptable, I will care for your pets the same way you would like me to, the same hour they are normally feed will be accomplished, your priorities will be mine. I will ensure to send photos to keep you at ease and ensure your beloved babies are safe and taken well care of.
About: I have loved, raised, and responsibly cared for dogs for over 30 years. I also served as a dog trainer and K-9 officer in the United States Marine Corps. I work from home, being attentive, providing loving care is very important to me. With someone always present, I am able to provide companionship, supervision, and a calm, comfortable environment where pets feel safe and cared for. Our home features a secure fenced yard with ample room for exercise, a well-socialized dog and cat, and crate accommodations for overnight stays. Dogs that enjoy water can also benefit from supervised pool time for low-impact exercise and enrichment.
About: I have been obsessed with dogs since I was little. Always wanting to have one, pet one, and just interact with one. I currently have a GSD, who is a handful, that I love dearly. I’m currently working 12 hour shifts with a rotating schedule. My available days change every week, but I know my schedule very far out in advance. I am very mindful of doors being closed all the way before and after taking your furry baby for a walk. Will provide them with water and treats before and after. I can also put them back into their crate before leaving if required.
About: My name is Josh Clemens and I am a dog person. I have had animals my entire life, and I personally trained my own service dog. I truly believe animals are better than people and I love spending time with them. For me time with your pet isn’t a chore, it’s an opportunity to make a friend! I know each pet is different and I work hard to meet each client’s specific needs. I love animals and if you choose to work with me, I believe you’ll see, they love me too! I only care for pets in client’s homes, not my own home. I specialize in custom in home service. I want your pet to feel like nothing has changed. I care for all the animals I work with as if they were my own, and I’m willing to do whatever is necessary to make my customers happy. Every first visit comes with a free toy! I work part time remotely so my schedule can be changed and worked around so no change in your pets’ schedules will be needed. For them it will be as if nothing has changed. I care for pets in my clients homes not my own home. I will come to your house and stay there essentially 24/7 to make sure your pets have optimal care.
“Audrey was so helpful with our fur babies!! Very thorough, kind and communicative. We’ve got elderly pets, so there’s feeding and medication specifications and she handled them so well and gave us wonderful updates. Highly recommend!!”
About: Ever since I was a little girl I’ve always prefer preferred animals over humans! I’ve had cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, and I’ve never met a species of pet I don’t like! I’ve cleaned litterboxes, taken care of sick cats and dogs, walked and bathed dogs, and am constantly doing research to know more about our four legged family members! I currently work for myself and make my own hours, so I’m very flexible during the week! I have four cats of my own and one beloved nephew-puppy I often help care for. I’ve taken care of pets my whole life! I can provide a clean and safe environment for animals such as puppy proofing, litterbox cleaning, dish cleaning, and accident clean ups while also providing other services to keep your four legged friends happy and healthy such as walks, play time, and whatever you feel your pet may need.
“Amanda was really sweet with Ozzie. She walked with him and snuggled with him while she was here. Amanda showed up on time and followed instructions. Will definitely use her again.”

About: I’m the go to dog sitter in my social circle! As a designated dog-mom, I’m always trying to give each dog the best care I can from different enrichment activities like lick mats or puzzle toys to long 3-5 mile walks through the neighborhood or through a park. I do have my own dog, who loves to play but will also enjoy quiet naps with any visiting dogs. I am lucky enough to work from home so pets are not left alone for the work day. They would have access to a fully fenced yard for outside time several times a day. When a pet is in my care, I do my best to keep to their routine while keeping mine and my own dog’s routine. While with me, they’d have opportunities to not only play with my dog, but to run outside in a fully 6’ fenced in yard, different enrichment activities and to work on any training their pet parents would like us to work on.
About: I have my own dog. I've grown up with dogs. I worked at a pet store when I was a teenager, and have house/pet sat before. Although, I'm not a vet, I'm observant and will keep an eye out for issues that concern you. Pet health is important. That includes nutrition and grooming. I know some think there is such a thing as over involved pet parents, I think they're family and should be treated as such. I volunteer at my church every Thursday, Backpack Program fifth Wednesdays (when they occur) and Orphan Grain Train every other month on the third Thursday. Otherwise, I take care of my dad who has COPD. I have to be home to cook for him. And take care of my own dog. Eventually, I will allow dogs to stay with me overnight, but I want to make sure my dog and said dogs get along. So that is my availability. I have a pitbull mix. She is very good around other dogs. Especially after she gets to know them. She's not aggressive, just tends to hump when excited. All dogs will need a leash if they are coming with me. I have walking trails in my community. I have no problem walking your dogs in them. Please make sure they have up to date tick meds. Also I live with my dad he will be petting and loving any pet that spends the night. My house is two story, so if you have a senior dog that needs help just let me know.
About: I’ve owned several dogs over the years, and have helped family and friends with their dogs as well. I adopted a reactive pit bull and trained her, making great progress in her ability to meet new people, animals, and have new experiences, and want to help care for other animals now that she has passed. Happy to work with all kinds of dogs! I work from home so I am available during the day for quick walks and potty breaks, with time for a longer walk at lunchtime. In evenings, I often have theater rehearsals or recreational sports leagues, but am able to come home within a few hours. I am very comfortable in any environment, and I am willing to work in whichever way will make you more comfortable for your pet’s needs.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Fayette
Maria was an absolute joy to have as a cat sitter for our boy, Sprout! We highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to care for their pets while they’re away. She took such great care of Sprout, sent us the sweetest pictures, and kept us completely at ease during our trip. It meant so much knowing Sprout was in such loving and capable hands. We’ll definitely be reaching out to Maria again! 🐾❤️

Stefanie was amazing!! One of my cats usually eats a daily crushed steroid in wet food with no problems, but he got ornery while we were away this time. She went above and beyond with her time and efforts to take care of my furry boy and get him to eat his meds. Thank you so much, Stefanie!!! 😻❤️👏

Stefanie is incredible! We were on vacation for 10 days and we have 4 cats! Not only did she take such wonderful, loving care of our furbabies but she did an excellent job watching over the house. She took out the trash without even being asked! She also noticed some ants on the kitchen counter and she cleaned off the honey she thought they were after and put a trap down for us. She brought in all the mail and packages and did everything we asked her to do. I would highly recommend Stefanie! 😊

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
