Brooke is an absolute peach. She is very friendly and kind. We have a rescue dog that can be very difficult to work with and she was able to connect with him very easily. She did everything we asked for and more! You can tell that she absolutely loves animals and truly cares for their well being. We will gladly have Brooke come back if we need help! - Barbara and Jon

About: I'm new on Rover, but over the past 15 years, I have provided dedicated pet sitting services for a wide variety of families, including those living on military bases. My experience spans everything from large, powerful breeds to timid rescues to small dogs with big personalities (yes, "little dog syndrome" included!). This extensive background, combined with owning a high energy Brittany Spaniel and a gentle Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, has given me a deep, well rounded understanding of different breed temperaments, sizes, and personalities, from confident big dogs to nervous rescues to feisty little ones. I know how to build trust with a rescue that needs extra patience, redirect a small dog's big attitude, and safely manage a large dog's strength and energy. Whether your dog needs vigorous exercise, specialized attention, or careful adherence to specific neighborhood boundaries, I bring the experience, trust, and reliability needed to keep your pets safe, happy, and completely at ease. I operate on a highly flexible schedule, allowing me to adapt completely to whatever your pup's routine looks like. Because I work with a highly flexible schedule, I am able to dedicate plenty of time and structured care to your dog. Whether they need energetic play sessions, a long walk to explore, or just a cozy spot on the couch to relax, I adapt completely to whatever your pup's routine looks like. When your pup is with me, you can expect regular text updates and plenty of cute photos so you can have total peace of mind! Safety is my absolute top priority, and I treat every guest pup with the exact same vigilance and care that I give my own two dogs. Because I have 15 years of pet sitting experience including caring for pets throughout different communities I am highly disciplined, respect home rules, and am deeply familiar with maintaining strict safety guidelines and neighborhood boundaries. In My Care & Environment: 📍 Supervised and Secure: Pets under my care are never left unattended in unsecured areas. I am extremely mindful of door safety, ensuring pups are secure before any entryways are opened. 🐾 Tailored to Their Needs: With a high energy Brittany and a gentle Cavalier of my own, plus years of experience with large breeds, rescues, and small dogs with big personalities, I know how to keep energetic dogs safely stimulated, help nervous rescues settle in and feel secure, and give small or sensitive dogs the patience and structure they need to feel completely protected and relaxed. 📸 Clear Communication: I believe trust is built through transparency. You will receive regular check ins, updates, and photo updates so you always know your baby is safe, happy, and thriving. 📋 Strict Adherence to Routines: Whether your pup has specific dietary restrictions, precise medication schedules, or distinct boundary training rules, I follow your instructions down to a T. My goal is to provide a reliable, peaceful, and incredibly safe environment so you can travel with absolute peace of mind!

About: I love all kinds of pets and am local to cape cod. I am an engineer in Falmouth and would love to watch your pets while you are away. I have had dogs for 15 years and have watched cats for weeks at a time. I work in falmouth so I can come home on lunch breaks and stay full time other than that. I normally walk dogs in the morning before work and on lunch breaks, then take them to the park after work. I will work with pet parents to come up with a plan that works for each pet! I have a big house and a nice big yard. I live near a big field and the beach they can go to as long as its not the high tourist season.

Leaving our elderly dog, Lulu, with Eva was like leaving her with a family member. She is by far the best and most trusted sitter we have EVER had. Special feeding instructions and care instructions were no problem for Eva. If you’re looking for a fantastic, attentive sitter, look no further. Thank you, Eva!!

Melissa is our German Shepherd’s new best friend! She made sure he was loved while we were away and stayed with him at our house, sending us pictures and updates daily. We were so lucky to have her around to care for our pup in the comfort of his own home because of his age and separation anxiety. She truly helped put him and us at ease. Thank You Melissa!

Natasha took gentle and kind care of my 14 year old cat. I was very nervous about leaving him for the first time but she kept me updated with photos and texts of how he was doing. Would definitely have her watch him again if I plan on going out of town. Plus, my kitty really loved her!

Kathleen is an absolute gem! Our elderly Maltese dogs had never had a stranger as a sitter but we found ourselves with no one to watch them and we wanted to visit our new grandchild in Colorado. From the moment we met her at a 'meet and greet' we found her to be friendly, caring and experienced. We booked her for 5 days to stay at our home and it was the best decision! Our dogs, being older , have their quirks but Kathleen made us feel comfortable about leaving them. She sent us daily photos and videos telling us how well they were doing. I felt at ease and confident she would do her very best to care for them-- and she did. It was just like having a family member care for our dogs. Our house was immaculate when we returned and we couldn't be happier with the entire experience!

I also have one cat who is a little prickly so I am experienced with difficult cats. My mom says I have a “way with animals” and I would love to meet yours! I am a recent college grad so my schedule is pretty open as I look for a full time job. I can work weekends and weekdays- day or night! Pets in my care are always guaranteed a fun time! I am energetic and love to play. I always stick to regular feeding and bathroom times to ensure the best care!

About: Hi there! I'm Ellyn. I have a magnetic, intuitive connection with animals that seems to form the moment we meet. During a recent backpacking trip in the Grayson Highlands, I had an experience that perfectly illustrates this: a fellow hiker’s black lab approached me with such immediate, heartfelt recognition that the owner was completely taken aback. It felt as though we were long-lost companions reuniting. She came rushing to me, whining and crying with pure joy, and when I came down to her level, she immediately laid on me, whimpering and cuddling. 🥹 This is the energy I bring to every interaction. While I began my journey as a pet sitter years ago while living in California, I am now returning to this work with a deeper perspective. For my canine friends: I am a big believer in the power of a 'sniffari.' I love taking dogs on walks where they set the pace, allowing them to explore and sniff to their heart's content. I believe this is the most mentally enriching and effective way for a dog to walk, and I am always happy to facilitate that. For my feline friends: I am a true cat lover at heart! I understand that cats require a subtle, patient approach. I’m excellent at reading feline body language and providing the kind of quiet, respectful companionship that makes cats feel secure and relaxed. Why you can trust me with your pets: Beyond my natural rapport with animals, my professional background as a Registered Nurse and my practice as an energy medicine practitioner mean that I am observant, responsible, and highly attuned to the non-verbal needs of those in my care. I bring a professional level of health-conscious care to pet sitting. I am comfortable with: -Administering medications as prescribed. -Managing specialized feeding schedules or dietary requirements. -Tracking and reporting on any health symptoms or behavioral changes. Whether your pet needs active outdoor time or a calm, quiet presence at home, I am dedicated to providing reliable, compassionate care. I would love to meet your companions and see how we connect! I currently work part time 3-4 evenings a week so have lots of time to care for long sniffy walks or quality time playing/snuggling with your pets! Trusted background as a registered nurse, willing to follow the schedule/flow you keep at your house. Am able to crate and take to appointments, as needed.

Laurel watched our 4 1/2 year old beagle and house-sat while we were away on an international vacation. This was our first experience on Rover and with someone staying at the house to watch our dog (our previous sitter got a new job). Laurel was amazing! She was very responsive from the beginning and was more than willing to come to the suburbs for a meet and greet. While we were away she took excellent care of our little guy. She took him on plenty of walks, played with him, and sat with him in his favorite spot in the yard. She even left the house in great shape! It was as clean as when we left!! Overall Laurel was a great sitter and we would highly recommend. We will definitely use her again!!

FAQs for House Sitting - Falmouth

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Falmouth on Rover is $48.14 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 587 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Falmouth. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Falmouth walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Falmouth maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Falmouth choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Falmouth. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
