“Kayleigh was so great with my dogs and she went above and beyond to care for my senior dog. Communication was top notch and she kept me updated about everything. She’s great and we can’t wait to see her again.”
“Michael was so amazing with our dog & cat. He sent us lots of pictures of our fur babies while we were away, took our dog on walks, for car rides & administered her daily medication. Michael was so flexible & understanding of my obsessive dog mom requests. We are so grateful to have had his help & will absolutely be having him sit for us again!”

“Natalie was AWESOME with Grey! She came to meet him a few times, before she stayed with him, to insure he was comfortable with her. She was very good with Grey. She played with him more than we do, I am sure. She sent us pictures and videos multiple times a day. She contacted me if something arose that I had not mentioned or explained about his idiosyncrasies. He loves her, and so do we. We were concerned that he would want to go with her, when she left / went home from the stay!! That is how much she did for him.”

“Autumn did fantastic staying in my home with my dog and cat! She was on time, checked in with me, sent lots of pics, and was very responsive the entire time. I felt comfortable with her taking care of my house and pets. My cat got her medication as needed and my dog got plenty of walks and attention. I booked her again shortly after the first stay. Highly recommend Autumn to take care of your babies!”

About: I’m Emily! A little about me: I love to run, lift, paint, and read. I am currently a student at the University of Pittsburgh studying Speech Pathology and Audiology who’s home for the summer! I've been a pet owner myself for about 5 years now. My family currently has three cats and has had a dog and another cat in the past. Within the last seven years I have dog and cat sat for a lot of my extended family and friends. I'm currently on the hunt for a part-time job for the summer, so I have plenty of time on my hands to look after and care for pets. I also have my own car and am hanging out with friends a lot, so I am always around. I am very diligent with making sure doors and windows are shut and locked to ensure that your pets do not go in or out (if they're indoor pets/ not on a leash) as I have to do that with my own pets! I also realize as it grows hotter, animals become dehydrated and hot as well, and I am careful to make sure water bowls are filled, and there is water during walks as well.
“Sandra is INCREDIBLE. I am so incredibly happy we found her for our first trip away from our pets in 3 years. She came over prior and arrived early before we left for the airport to go over everything thoroughly. We have 3 dogs (one senior, one young and high energy, and one 12 week old puppy), 6 chickens (1 that needs oral medication twice a day), and 2 other birds. She sent me updates frequently and was very communicative. We have a Ring camera outside and it was clear that our dogs loved her by their wagging tails. We got photo and video updates as well. Cannot recommend her enough!”

“This was our first booking with Kristin and she was fabulous! We were gone for 16 days and she took care of our two dogs like they were her own. They are still missing her! She left the house in perfect shape! She also kept our gardens watered and my houseplants thriving. We will definitely ask her to come back again and we highly recommend her to everyone!”

“Jacen did a fantastic job!!! We booked for 6 separate nights for stay overs at our house and everything went smoothly. Jacen is flexible and even watered our plants and took down some trash while we were gone. The cats were well taken care of and the communication was excellent. Highly recommend Jacen!”

“Gabrielle took great care of our cats and was in constant communication with us about how they were doing, including cleaning up a plant that one had knocked over. She also sent lots of pictures which was appreciated.”

About: I have over ten years of animal care experience. From senior dogs and cats to puppies and kittens, I am patient, responsible, and fun. I would love to give your fur baby some love and appreciate your trust in me. I am free on all weekends and holidays. I do work an 8 hour shift monday through friday, 6:45am to 3:15pm. I walk daily so having a companion with me fits in perfectly. I have a fenced in backyard and a very friendly cat. I go on daily walks myself so having a fur companion with me would be something I would love!

About: I’ve always been a dog lover and both me and brother rescued Labrador early prior to the covid year. We love him so much and since I moved countries he now lives with my parents in India. I wear a paw on my necklace which is a memory that he is not far away and will always take care of my parents behind me. Zorro now sits on the dinner table and enjoys all family meals. As someone with medical training and a responsible active lifestyle, I am calm under pressure, highly dependable and attentive to routines, medications, special care needs and feeding schedule. Whether your pet is playful or prefer quiet companionship I’m happy to adapt to their personality and needs. Looking forward to meeting you and your furry family 🐾 I relocated to Pittsburgh from Boston for my medical training this year. I thrive on a schedule and can work if we plan the days well in advance together. I will be open to taking care of your pet as needed and happy to coordinate a schedule for walks/boarding at my house with you. My partner and I are trustworthy, active, and organized, and we genuinely care about making your dog feel safe and loved while you're away from home. 🐾 I live in an apartment with my spouse who has grown up all around dogs as pets since he was a kid so we both love dogs but don’t have one of our own currently. Your pet is allowed on our sofa and enjoy the area of a one bedroom. If I am at your home, I will aim to make your pet feel as comfortable and stress free as possible while the owner is way by keeping a normal routine in their own home environment. I will carefully follow your instructions and communication is very important to me, so I can provide regular updates , photos and check-in to help the owner feel reassured. As someone with a medical background I am very attentive to details and safety.
“Bryan was a super dog sitter. Very friendly, good communicator and easy to work with as far as scheduling and meeting. He (and his wife) took wonderful care of my dogs. They played in their large backyard and enjoyed plenty of space in their nice house. Dogs came home happy. I highly recommend and would love to use them again!”

About: Reliable boarding, house sitting and check-ins with lots of love and attention. Why pet parents love booking with me • Work from home—pets get lots of attention • Quick responses and easy communication • Daily photo & video updates • Reliable, dependable care • Comfortable with dogs and cats • Plenty of walks, playtime, and affection • I treat every pet like family Whether your pet is staying in my home or I'm caring for them in yours, my goal is simple: I want you to enjoy your trip knowing your pet is safe, happy, and getting plenty of attention. I've been around animals my entire life and have experience with both dogs and cats. As a cat owner myself, I understand that every pet has a unique personality, routine, and comfort level. Because I work from home, pets in my care aren't left alone for long periods. They receive frequent potty breaks, walks, playtime, cuddles (if they enjoy them), and lots of supervision throughout the day. When you're away, you'll receive regular photo and video updates, quick responses to messages, and the reassurance that your pet is being cared for like one of my own. I'm committed to keeping your pet's routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I know how much trust it takes to leave your furry family member with someone else, and I don't take that responsibility lightly. I'd love the opportunity to care for your pet! I only care for a limited number of pets at a time so each one receives plenty of individual attention. Please contact me for any questions or to set up a meet and greet! ❤️ Since I work from home, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to give pets plenty of attention throughout the day. I’m available for boarding, walks, drop-in visits, or pet sitting in your home depending on your pet’s needs. I also enjoy getting my steps in and staying active, so walks and playtime are something I genuinely look forward to while making sure pets feel comfortable, safe, and cared for. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my priority. In my home, pets will have a clean, calm, and supervised environment with plenty of attention throughout the day since I work from home. I do currently have two cats, so I ask that dogs staying with me are cat-friendly. In a client’s home, I respect your pet’s routine, follow feeding/walking instructions carefully, and make sure they feel comfortable and stress-free while you’re away. I believe pets should feel safe, loved, and treated like family in any environment. I have a pet-friendly backyard space for supervised outdoor time, walks, and play. Since the yard is not fenced in, safety and supervision are always a priority.
About: I have taken care of animals and pets since I was young. Growing up, we had puppies, dogs, cats, rabbits and chickens. With my children we had guinea pigs, hamsters, and cats. I currently work full time but I have a full hour for lunch to stop by and care for your pets. I can do drop ins or stay at your house, whatever is needed to make sure your pet is safe and loved. I have two cats at my house. They are well loved and follow me everywhere. I make sure they have nutritious food and clean water always. I have helped with dogs, making sure they are safe when out walking. I make sure they are given the right amounts of food and always have water. As a pet lover, I want to give them companionship, love, and security while their "parents" are away.
“Lyla went above and beyond for our two dogs (mini poodle and pitbull mix) while we were away for a long weekend. She came to meet them a few days before we left and took them on a walk so they could acclimate to her. She kept us updated with messages and pictures, took them on two walks per day, did tricks with them, and kept them safe and entertained the whole weekend. We'll absolutely be booking with her again!!”

“Lauren took amazing care of my pets and always kept me updated! Loved receiving photos of my babies while I was gone. She truly listened to me about their little quirks, medications, and what works best for them while we are gone and really followed through! Super easy to talk to and get a hold of! Would 100% refer and will be booking again”

About: I've cared for dogs and cats for most of my life. For 50 years I've been involved in the love and care of animals. I volunteer at an animal shelter and have a family member at the vet's office. I've been told by professionals committed to humane animal rescue that I am a confident, calming presence to the animals at the shelter. And that's always my goal. I work for myself, from home. I also volunteer at White Oak Animal Safe Haven. My schedule is uncommonly flexible, and I commit much of my free time to providing love, care and affection to animals in need. I have a fenced yard, near a park with walking trails and an off-leash area for dogs. I am not currently hosting dogs in my home because of the amount of cat traffic -- both feral and domestic -- and a lack of certainty about how a new dog would react to so many cats hanging out, or passing through. The safety and happiness of all the animals is always my greatest concern. Your dog(s) or cat(s) are as important to me as my own. In your home, I will provide all that your baby could ever want, apart from having you there with them.

Bridget is an excellent house and pet sitter and highly recommend! She is very easy to communicate with, sent us lots of pictures for updates and did great with taking good care of all of our pets and our house. Would happily have her pet and house sit for us again!

Alexia was wonderful about communicating with us while we were away and sending photos of the dogs throughout the day. She was patient and understand when the dogs were unsettled from a storm and kept in contact with us throughout. She made sure they got their nightly treats and medications. We will definitely continue to utilize her services when we travel.

FAQs for House Sitting - Export
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Export on Rover is $27.75 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 1,376 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Export. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Export walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Export maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Export choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Export. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 91% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
