About: I’ve worked with dogs professionally for the last 4 years. Have 3 years of pet CPR/first aid training. In my 4 years I’ve spent lots of time researching the best ways to bond with each breed using play and their natural instincts. I love working with the lower confident pets and helping them find their way out of their shells. I’m currently not working, doing dog training on the side. I am very open for availability for holidays, weekends, in home stays or even just to take your pup on a fun day trip! I live on 2 acres not fenced in. I utilize long lines and leashes for potty breaks and allowing pets to run and play. I have 6 very social dogs in the house who are open and ready to play if your pup is open to it, I have lots of experience in introducing dogs and cats to each other in positive ways. I love to take my dogs on hikes and would love to get out with some new buddies as well if they are up for the challenge!
About: Hi, I’m Alexys! I’m a registered nurse with a deep love for animals and a strong commitment to providing attentive, compassionate care. As a dog owner myself, I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pets. I currently have three dogs—Envy, our Great Dane; Jasper, a red heeler/Great Pyrenees mix; and Hank, a chihuahua mix—so I’m very comfortable caring for dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and energy levels. My experience with a variety of breeds allows me to adapt to each dog’s unique needs. Whether your pet needs a walk, playtime, or simply companionship, I’m happy to provide a safe, loving environment. I treat every pet as if they were my own, with patience, attention, and care. If you’re looking for a reliable and caring sitter—or even a friendly playmate for your dog—I would love to help! My schedule is relatively open, I am flexible to find a way to help you and your pet! I am frequently walking my pets and happy to have your pet tag along with our pack! If your dog fits in well with our dogs I am happy to have them over for a play date during the day, we do not have a fenced yard.
“Katherine was amazing!!! She took such good care of my dog and I could tell by the photos she took that he had so much fun on their walks. Highly recommend and can’t wait to book with her in the future, so glad I found her!! :) great communication and so friendly!!”

“Troy is awesome. He was very flexible and accepting of our dogs' needs and ours. He is clearly very passionate about spending his time with animals and loves dogs. We will continue to use him for regular, ongoing walks.”
“Michael was great! He came over to meet our pup Marley ahead of time, so she would know him when he came to take her out. Great communication and sent pics of her during their walk. Will definitely use his services again!”

About: I have a passion for rescue and believe pets deserve all the second and third chances! I grew up with cats and as soon as I moved out, I adopted a rescue cat who was destined to be an only child in her forever home. Now with 3 rescue cats and one young rescue lab with a past, our home is at full capacity, but I love meeting new furry characters through pet sitting. I’ve been pet sitting for friends and family for nearly 2 decades. Recently we were in a bind to find someone in our circle to care for our rowdy pup, so we turned to the Rover community and immediately found a fantastic local dog walker. I love that Rover provides a place for pet parents to connect and I’m now in the local network of pet sitters as well! I believe every dog is an individual and should be respected as such. Every challenging behavior simply reflects a need. I know how tough it can be to find a good match for a rescue pup with a past, and I’d love to provide help as a sitter/walker who is comfortable navigating challenging behaviors! I love a cat who hisses at strangers, and I love a pup who has enough wild energy to power a small city. I currently work full time with a somewhat flexible schedule. Usually not available on Mondays. I’m typically available for pet care mornings and evenings, and sometimes afternoons. Feel free to reach out and let me know what you’re looking for! I have a small 3bd home with a small fenced in yard. I live in a densely populated neighborhood with many dogs, and with a highly reactive pup I am very safety conscious and accustomed to providing vigilant supervision both when my dog goes out on his own to potty or while on walks.
About: I grew up working on a farm! Not only am I familiar with training puppies and caring for cats, I also know my way around a barn. I have time in the early mornings and evenings to visit your pets! I am also able to house sit and provide daily exercise to any extent you need! I love to go on walks and adventuring in parks. But I also love just sitting on the couch with a dog or cat :) I am flexible and ready to meet whatever your pet needs!
“Sophia stepped up on short notice and help get my sweet Topo some stellar exercise while I was away. Will reach out for support again! Choose Sophia for your doggy support needs :)”

“Lizz saved the day for us! We had a family emergency come up and had to leave town last minute. Lizz was able to cover all the walks in our absence. She gave us great feedback and won over our shy pup. Highly recommend.”

“Erin has been an amazing daily walker for our dog Penny! She is always very responsive and reliable, and super sweet with our girl. Penny also recently spent the weekend boarding at Erin’s house, and she was treated very well and made some new friends! We will definitely continue to use Erin for taking care of our puppy.”

About: I've had dogs in my life since I was 8 and all my dogs have shown great love towards me because I give them the full love back. I am known in the family as the family caretaker when our dogs get old and need special attention. The reason I take care of my dogs when they get older because I have the patience, attentions, and most of all, love in supporting them through their elderly stage. All pets deserve the best and I am more than happy to provide that! I am currently taking the year off from work to travel the world but in between my trips I have a lot of free time and feel it can be better spent taking care of pets while other people can enjoy trips or another activity that requires them to leave their pet at home. I have a 5-year old Havanese and I take him on walks daily, I make sure he is bathe at least once a month, and try to take him on as many trips so I can, so he can enjoy the world as much I as I do.
About: I'm in college, studying to be a Veterinary Technician. I've had many types of animals and I've been caring for animals as a way to make money for several years- predominantly dogs. I am free on weekends. I'm usually free on Wednesday and Monday. I'm available at 1pm on Tuesdays, and I'm available on Fridays and Thursdays after 4pm. My cat is indoors, and I make a great deal of effort to keep her that way (she tries to escape a lot). I make sure to keep her happy and entertained, just as I do with my client's pets. When I am in a client's home I ensure adequate care and their animal's safety.
About: I've had all kinds of pets from Henrietta the beta fish I tended to in middle school, Poppy an adorable Havanese dog that I cared for from ages 9-21, Rice Krispie a pit bull mix and Misty a mix, both who I fostered in college, and last but certainly not least Jinx and Binx two dapper tuxedo cats I lived with fall through winter quarter of my senior year! Even as a child, I've found myself drawn to animals and would love to show some affection to your pet! I currently have very open and flexible availability, allowing me to tailor my schedule to you and your pet’s needs. I am willing to work with any availability spots suggested. I have a large, fenced yard with plenty of space to play and explore. My neighborhood is pet-friendly with plenty of bushes and trees to mark as territory. A lovely location and my extensive experience caring for cats and dogs will be perfect for your pet!

About: I’ve taken care of all sorts of pets for neighbors, friends, coworkers and everyone in between for about 6 years now. From rats, dogs, cats, reptiles, I’ve done it all to make sure everyone’s favorite animals are safe and happy. Though I work full-time, I’m work from home. There will be days I have to travel out of town, but for the most part I’ll be home. Anytime after 1-2pm I’m completely free for pet care. At home, I have a very sweet dog that roams around the house and two curious cats that generally keep to themselves unless they’re hungry. There’s a baby gate up that just keeps the older cat away from eating the younger one’s food.
About: Update: Based in Bellingham Washington, currently looking to board/housesit for aniamals in Bellingham. I am a full time dog trainer and animal caretaker. I am also available for hire for canine training. I am in the process of receiving my national professional degree for Large and Small Animal Accupressure. I am also available for hire on the northern coast of Oregon, available for animal sitting in-home. Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up caring for neighborhood pups, giving them daily walks and love which fueled my admiration for them. I love spending time with animals because of how much we learn from each other. I spent summers working on a farm where I learned to work with all animals - great and small. From draft horses to cattle to chinchillas to fish to llamas to birds and bunny rabbits - I have worked with many types of animals. With dogs, I have cared for and train dogs from dachshunds to Great Pyrenees and so many breeds in between. I have worked with animals for over 15 years time as a caretaker. I volunteer at an animal shelter where I get to work with lots of different breeds. I have experience working with dogs which need a little bit of extra help on their manners or that have come from an abusive situation, creating a calm and trusting atmosphere for them where they can thrive. I find that not just do I love spending time with animals but that I grow as a person working with them. I am also available for pet sitting of animals other then dogs, as well. So please, go on your next vacation with your mind at ease, knowing your pets are well cared for and are on a vacation of their very own at our beautiful farm in northern Bellingham, complete with acerage, rolling fields and plenty of room to run and play. Wishing you a beautiful day!

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Everson
We are ecstatic and relieved to have found Troy! He is experienced, prepared, reliable, and communicative. He's fantastic with our special-case dogs and we truly trust him to handle them, which is rare. We have one dog who is reactive toward other dogs while our other dog is terrified of humans. This can make walks difficult, frustrating, and a test of patience and physical strength. Troy took every direction we gave him and applied them with his own steady and gentle demeanor phenomenally. Our dogs feel safe and confident with him and love to go on walks with him. Troy is also incredibly kind, easy to work with, and even did additional research and planning to ensure he would handle our skiddish dog the best. I would recommend him to anyone. I especially recommend Troy if you have a reactive or skiddish dog.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
