“Isabella came on short notice and she is such a gem! She set up a meet and greet and i knew she was going to be great with my Dedra which is a rescue and has a hard time meeting new people. Isabella was always on time and kept me updated the whole time. I will definitely be using her again.”

“Thad was wonderful! We were able to do a meet and greet before our trip and I had no worries at all leaving our dogs for him to check in on. He also sent pictures which we greatly appreciated!”

“Requesting Jane for our dog sitting services was an easy choice after the outstanding experience I had the first two times. Once again, she exceeded all expectations in caring for my pups and cat. Her consistent communication, through updates and photos, reassured me that my pet was in the best hands. It's clear Jane doesn't just see this as a job but as a passion, treating my dog as if it were their own. The bond they've formed with my pet is heartwarming and the peace of mind I get from using their services is invaluable. I wholeheartedly recommend Jane to anyone seeking a reliable, caring, and professional dog sitter.”

“We have used Rachel to drop in and administer medication to our cats on a few occasions now. She has been great each time and has been super flexible when our travel plans change. We will continue to seek her out first whenever we need someone to care for our cats.”
“Annetta was fantastic! Quick to respond, easy to talk to and great with our pets. She took a lot of pictures and helped us out when our heater was acting up. Highly recommend!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Enterprise
Rachael is awesome! She cared for our cat while we were away for almost 2 weeks. Her communication and pictures kept our minds at ease. We knew she was attentive and loving with Jinx, and he clearly loves her because we could hear the purrs in the videos she sent. She followed every instruction given for his care. I highly recommend Rachael as a pet sitter.

She was absolutely wonderful! Before the visit, she took the time to make sure she had all the information needed to properly care for my pets, which gave me so much peace of mind. She showed up right on time for every visit, provided thorough report cards, and kept in great contact throughout. What really stood out was how thoughtful she was—she even left the sweetest little gifts for my dog and cat. You can truly tell she cares. I’m so sad she’s moving because I would hire her again and again without hesitation. It’s truly a no-brainer—your pets will be safe, secure, and genuinely loved in her care.

Megan watched my two mature cats for five days, and I couldn't have gotten a better person! She followed all instructions, including giving my male his daily insulin shot. She loved on them as if they were her babies. I was given updates at each visit and adorable pictures. If you need her to take care of your fur babies, know that she will be a great sitter. I only wish she weren't leaving our local area next month.

Carolyn was an incredible sitter and I would book with her time and time again! She was so wonderful and sweet with our cat and went above and beyond to make sure we received updates and pictures. Carolyn left our house spotless and is trustworthy and communicative. Thank you again for a great Rover experience!

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
