I'm a retired veteran from the US Army and a full time stay at home mom. My day to day is getting kids ready for school, drop off, pick up and homework time. In between all that, Im doing chores or watching some episodes of my favorite shows, so I will have plenty of time to be with your pet. My kids are 5 and 7, so most of the day they are at school. When they are home they help out with the animals and give them even more attention and love. John, my husband, works full time. With our schedule, if there is ever a time I need to step out, he is always here to help.

Safety, trust & environment

I always prefer a meet and greet before we set up anything so the animal can acknowledge who I am or where they will be staying, even when doing drop ins. This makes the transition alot easier on both sides. We stick to one client at a time to keep the house easier to maintain and also for the safety of your pet and mine, as well as the family. We have a large fenced in yard to keep your pet safe but have plenty of room to run and play. We also have a crate for crate training or sleeping if you so prefer. We allow pets on the furniture unless you say otherwise. We will always follow by the owner's rules and ways of doing things in our home.

Information Rachael J. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your dogs has any medical concerns or needs that I can assist of. I understand certain medications and diets due to our baby having a few. Please include or send a copy of vet records with shot record and rabies shot. I want to make sure our home is a happy but healthy home for everyone. Please also send a copy or include personal information of the owner and the veterinary clinic they are seen at. A back up plan is also a good thing to have because no one expects the unexpected

A typical day

I love hanging out for sometime just petting and talking to your pet. Playing games that mentally stimulate and help them get adjusted better. We play fetch in the back yard and depending on weather, we have walks or the park down the street. Everything is at the owner's discretion.

Pet care experience

Hello there and welcome to my Rover site! Thanks for taking a look and I'm hoping to be able to be your animal's friend during the time you're away. I have been with dogs since I was a baby as well as taking care of them since I was 12, when I got my own first German Shepherd. Been there for many animals from puppies to senior and everywhere in between. Many friends, family members and neighbors have come to me to watch their babies while gone, to check in on them or take them on walks. I have dealt with most breeds and understand basic needs, medical concerns and safety of everyone.

Rachael is awesome! She cared for our cat while we were away for almost 2 weeks. Her communication and pictures kept our minds at ease. We knew she was attentive and loving with Jinx, and he clearly loves her because we could hear the purrs in the videos she sent. She followed every instruction given for his care. I highly recommend Rachael as a pet sitter.

Was great with the dogs and they enjoyed having the kids around to cuddle with.

I needed a last minute pet sitter for a drop-in visit and Rachel was available. She was very kind and understanding and took great care of my dog. Definitely saved my bacon. Now I’m not worried about my pet while I’m at work all day. She would send me updates during the visit which I greatly appreciated. 10/10 ❤️
