Did a trial run for our Yorkie, Max, with Amy today and I think he had a good time. He didn't look stressed coming home. We will definitely bring Max back for future boarding and day care. Thank you Amy for taking care of Max.

About: I’ve been dog walking almost all my life, growing up with dogs. Since 2023 I’ve been dog sitting neighbors dogs and taking care of their house while they are gone. I am currently a student at MJC, so my schedule is busy in mornings but avalaible after my classes. I will make my time avalaible devoted on what is needed for the dog. I have a beautiful neighborhood perfect for walking a dog. My house is safe with no where for the dog to run away or harm itself.

About: I’ve had dogs as pets since I was a baby. I have two chihuahuas that are 10 and 11 years old. I’ve had them since they were 8 weeks old and they are my babies. They are so spoiled and loved and my whole world. I’m currently a stay at home mom to my step daughter. We usually have her Wednesday-Thursday, Friday-Monday. My day depends on what I have scheduled, it’s very fluid and open. I start my day by scooping the cat litter box, letting my dogs outside to potty, taking care of and feeding my beta fish, opening windows and watering plants, and then making meals for my two cats and two dogs. Our step daughter loves animals and loves to help care for ours. I am at home majority of my day and spend a lot of time with my animals. I walk my two dogs everyday and make them meals. I brush my two cats everyday and give them enrichment activities. I spend the day cuddling with my dogs too. At my clients home, I would follow the directions provided to me as well as using my own discretion when necessary to provide the ultimate care. Your pets will be treated and loved like they are my own.

About: I have had dogs of my own since I was in high school (10+ years). I have pet sat for family and friends multiple times throughout the years (both cats & dogs). I currently work from home full time so I have a very flexible schedule that would allow me to be around your loved one at all hours of the day. I have a big backyard (10,500 sqft) that is fenced all around. Your dog(s) will have ample space to run around and be free. I do not have pets of my own yet because I travel out of the country 3-6 months out of the year!

Your dog will be in a calm, clean, and structured environment with: • A fenced yard for safe play • Daily walks and exercise • Lots of attention, love, and supervision • Experience with potty training and leash training I also have knowledge from veterinary assistant training, so I’m comfortable with medications and special care if needed. I understand how important your pet is to you, so I always keep communication open with updates and photos for peace of mind. My goal is simple: To make sure your dog feels safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I’m currently an Esthetician that works from home so I’ll have plenty of time to spend with your pups. Plus my children and I take walks twice a day in my neighborhood. I have a fence in yard and a min dachshund to play with your furry friend. Can crate dog if needed. About: I’ve been a nanny and pet owner for over 15 years. Animals are a central part of my life and I’m constantly seeking ways to support the greater community. I raised a pure bread Doberman that was ACG certified. We went to the best trainers in California for 7 years. I’m a nurturer by nature and am eager to shift the perspective and community of bullied breeds. I’m currently transitioning and looking for my next full time corporate career. I’ve been a talent leader in tech for the past 8 years - taking a pause and getting into some work that fulfills me. We live in the country in Modesto with plenty of indoor and outdoor space. We’ve always had well trained animals in the house, but also love for them to feel a part of the family. We give them the best food, best care and of course the best cuddles. We’ve worked with rescues, less able animals and strict disciplined ones. We cater to whatever the animal needs most.

About: Hello! My name is Patricia and I love dogs! I have a 6-year-old Corgi, and when dogs stay at my house, they are treated as my own. We have a big fenced-in backyard, complete with a dog agility course! We love to go on walks in our neighborhood and on the Virginia Trail. Sometimes we will stop at Yogurt Mill for a pup-yo! I also have plenty of treat puzzle toys to keep your dog entertained and mentally stimulated throughout the day. I only watch dogs from one family at a time, so you know your pup will be getting lots of attention from me. REQUIREMENTS: In order to stay with us, your dog must be crate trained and must be able to demonstrate some basic obedience commands (for example: sit-stay, down-stay, place, on-leash heel, and recall). I currently work from home, so I will be home most of the day with your pup! If your dog is staying with me for a weekend, there is a good chance we will take them to a park or on a short hike. I have a fully fenced in yard and air conditioning indoors for hot days. I always provide plenty of fresh ice water, and I will always keep your pup on a leash when going for walks outside the backyard.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Empire on Rover is $26.75 per day (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Empire commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 234 sitters in Empire, 85% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
