“Anthony was fantastic! He was able to accommodate a long trip last minute and went above and beyond to take care of my pup. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable sitter.”

“This is our second time having Katie watch our cats. I am a nervous wreck about leaving them but both times we have used Katie she has made me feel so comfortable and at ease. I have one cat who has been through cancer treatment so I particularly worry about him but Katie made me feel confident that she would be able to recognize if he needed anything and sent me pictures and updates every day. We will absolutely be calling Katie for our next trip.”

About: Asst in training service dogs, have had dogs for the past 25 years. I have also had cats but do not have one currently. I watch my neighbors' animals, to include a bunny and other small animals as well. I currently work from home most days and am able to work from anywhere with my laptop if I am needed to stay at your home. This also gives me the availability to leave for breaks to take your animal out for small walks or potty breaks during the day. I have always had 3 dogs at a time, but I just lost my last fur baby in January 2026 so we just got a puppy in April as I just can’t be without a fur baby. I care for my animals as family, not pets, they sleep with me and my husband and go with us when we are able to take them.I provide more of a motherly service and will care for your fur baby as if he/she were my own. This includes playing and snuggling.
“Sarah was great to my 2 dogs. One dog is very senior, and the other has health conditions. Sarah made sure she understood each dog’s needs, and asked questions when needed. I would highly recommend Sarah, and will be using her services again in the future.”

About: I’ve been dog sitting for family, friends, and neighbors since i was 12. Ive had experience with puppies as well as older dogs that need more help with things daily. I will always play or run around with dogs if i’m not petting them. I am currently working a part time job which leaves Thursday’s to Sunday’s open! Starting mid September I will be going to a school to get my CDL license, this will take up Monday-Friday mid day, but weekends and afternoons I will be available! I’ve learned how to deal with crating dogs if needed, as well as worrying about a dog jumping on me or barking. If an older dog ever needs any assistance and requires me to pick them up for help with stairs or a porch I’m willing to do so.
About: I’ve been around and have loved cats and dogs for as long as I can remember. I also have 4-5 years of experience caring for farm animals, as well as small animals like rabbits, quinea pigs, and hedgehogs. I’m currently not working a day job, so my schedule is wide open to fit your needs! This may change in the future, but not without a plan to continue the care of your pets first. I currently don’t have a fenced in yard so I would prefer to watch your pup at your place! I’m very comfortable in new settings and will have no issue following our plan for your pet.

“Nicole is a gentle and kind care giver who help our family by talking care of our beloved dog, Maggie while we were out of town for a memorial service. Normally, we take Maggie with us when we travel but this time it was not possible. Our daughter recommended we use Rover to find a sitter for Maggie and that's how we found Nicole. We arranged for Nicole to drop in during the day periodically to ensure Maggie was taken care of. Nicole was always on schedule and sent us photos of Maggie everyday. Nicole's daily reports gave us peace of mind and comfort knowing Maggie was doing well. We highly recommend Nicole. You can truly trust Nicole to provide a high level of quality care for your four legged family members when you are away from home. Our sincere thanks to you, Nicole.”

About: I have been taking care of the pets of friends and family for years, ranging from dog-walking to week-long pet sitting. Experience with a wide range of breeds and ages. I am a substitute teacher with a very flexible schedule, so I can take care of animals pretty much any time during days when I am not subbing. For sitting at other’s’ home, I try and keep the pet’s schedule as close to normal as possible! I prefer sitting in other’s’ homes just to keep things simple for the furry babies.
About: I’ve taken care of animals for as long as I can remember. I started working at a veterinarian clinic when I was in high school and eventually became a veterinary technician. My time working has allowed me to gain multiple skills from caring for senior animals to administering many different forms of medication. Whatever care your pet needs, I’ll be able to handle it! I am currently a student, so I am mainly free on the weekends. Depending on your location, week nights can possibly work for me as well! When I am with your pet, they will have my undivided attention. Whether they are a youngster who needs a lot of play time, or an older pet who just needs some extra cuddles. I have worked with a wide variety of sizes and types of animals so I can handle just about anything!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
