“We will definitely be using Ashton again. We wanted someone we could trust in our home, to care for our Olde English Bulldog, and make him feel the least amount of stress while we are away. Our Winston gets separation anxiety. Ashton was professional, communicated often, and above all cared for Winston like we would. When your dog looks sad that their sitter has left, is when you know you’ve found the right person. Thank you, Ashton!”

“She was wonderful with my dogs. We got her for a last minute booking and am so happy I found her. Hopeful to use her again in the future. Dogs were happy when we got home and house was well maintained. Thank you so much Lauren.”

“Joseph was a wonderful sitter for our puppy! He learned about and followed her routines, spent lots of quality time with her to build a relationship, and even worked with her on training. We’ll definitely book with him again!”

About: I’ve taken care of family pet since I was 16 and could drive. I would pet sit/house sit for my grandpa and her 2 dogs, I also dog and cat sat for my aunt I only work a couple of days a week and I’m wide open besides that for the moment. I am starting college in the fall but there shouldn’t be to much difference in availability. I love all pet and understand the importance of treating a pet with the utmost love. I will follow any instructions you as the owner puts in place, you can rest assured that your pet will be taken care of!

“I can’t express enough how grateful I am to Alexis for taking such incredible care of my dog, cat, and home while I was away in Mexico. From start to finish, she went above and beyond. Alexis sent wonderful pictures almost daily keeping me updated and giving me peace of mind, knowing my fur babies were in such great hands. It’s clear she’s an animal lover and it was so heartwarming to see how she enjoyed spending time with my sphinx cat, who can be interesting for most people who have no experience with them. Alexis made it look easy and I could tell she genuinely connected with both of my pets. I came home to happy animals and a spotless house, which is more than I could’ve asked for I highly recommend Alexis to anyone looking for a reliable, caring pet sitter.”
“I NEVER leave my dogs with anybody, not even my own family or friends. Kay made my anxious dogs feel right at home and my reactive dog who doesn’t like anybody even lets Kay pet and love on her. Today was the first of many bookings we plan on using Kay for. We will be taking a 5 day vacation in May and I wouldn’t trust anybody to stay in home and love on my babies besides her. She’s a must book!!!! She listens well, pays attention to what your typical routine is with your pets, and makes them feel just as loved as you do all at the same time.”

“Anna was very communicative & professional. My puppy can be a timid when meeting new people, and she took the time to make him feel comfortable. She sent video and photo updates throughout her housesitting. I highly recommend Anna.”

“Austyn is amazing! She took such great care of my cat and two dogs. She is very communicative and sent lots of photos of my babies while I was gone. I will definitely hire her again!”

About: I have been dog-walking and pet sitting for nearly half my life! In my home town many locals knew me for my dog walking ‘business’ and helping out those in need. I am a student at central and I would love to add time with nearby furry friends into my schedule. I am confident in my ability to work with clients on this. I am used to working with clients on what specifically their pet needs. For some it’s longer walks and for others it’s a special treat before bed. Whatever your pet needs I will be there to give to them.
“Mikaela was amazing, she was very well informed about dogs and she was able to care for our pet in the best way possible - including walking her, playing with her and feeding her. We would definitely hire her again.”

About: Hello! I have experience with dogs of all sizes and breeds. For every dog sitting and walking adventure I offer, your pup is treated just like one of my own! Living in the beautiful Cascade mountains there are many fun walking and hiking opportunities I can offer. Being an active outdoor enthusiast I can take on the most ambitious of fur friends! I am able to visit your permanent or vacation home and administer any special food/medication needs multiple times a days if necessary. If there is specific training you are working on I am more than able to stay consistent with their needs. I have shown in obedience, agility and showmanship and have attended numerous obedience classes. I am a firm believer of positive reinforcement/encouragement types of training. Whatever level of experience your dog is at, I can accommodate. Willingness to clean up any messes/accidents your pup may have. (Cleaning supplies not included) I have bred and raised puppies, so any puppies are more than welcome. I personally have two dogs at the moment, a 3 year old Pitbull and a very exuberant 5 year old Australian Cattle Dog/Border Collie mix. My past pups were Yorkshire Terriers, a German Shephard, Pit Bull and a Dalmatian. The range of dog attitudes I've handled makes me the perfect fit for any of your fur babies! I recently have become a cat mom as well. Two years with our current indoor cat and lots of experience feeding out outdoor barn cats/kittens. If you happen to live on a farm, I also have tons of experience with raising goats and chickens as I have my own. I look forward to your meeting you and your animals companions!
“Annie is wonderful! She is very timely and follows our dog’s routine wonderfully! She takes him for long walks and even spends extra time in the yard with him. Would recommend her 100%”

About: I am a stay at home mom of two(ages 9 and 7). I have owned and taken care of animals my entire life. I do have a large (unfenced) yard to run around and play in. We are an active family and love going for walks, hiking, going to the dog park, and being outdoors. I am currently working toward becoming a dog trainer. I have a flexible schedule and willing to accommodate for any pet. If your pets don't get along with other animals or children, we do have the space to keep them seperated. We treat animals like family in our home. I will send pictures updates throughout the stay. I am flexible so if you end up needing a last minute sitter I can usually accommodate for that. If you're looking for someone to spoil your pet while you're away, I would love to be that person. I can do extended stays, just send me a message and we can discuss details. During their stay, I will treat you pet exactly like I treat my own, they will get plenty of play time and alot of love. If it's an extended stay, I may have to leave to run an errand once in awhile, but I will never leave them unattended for longer than 2 hours. I don't leave at all during the first 24 hours to give them time to adjust and settle in. I do accept dogs of all personalities, breeds, and sizes. I have dealt with aggressive dogs and behavior issues in the past, so if you're dog has any behavioral problems, just be up front about it and I can work with it. I love all animals. I will do everything to make sure your pet has a comfortable, fun, and more importantly a safe stay while in my care. In the event that someone else is doing the drop off, I will need there name beforehand. If someone else will be doing pick up, I will need a name and photo or description of them. I treat all 4 legged friends like children and want to keep them safe. I'm a stay at home mom so I have plenty of time to care for pets and give them all the love and attention they deserve. On a typical day, we go for walks, play outside, occasionally go to the dog park or hiking(depending on the pets in my care), and go swimming when the weather is nice. If a pet has a specific routine, we try to stick to it as much as possible. Every stay varies depending on the pets needs and likes/dislikes.
About: I recently lost my senior dog at 15 years old. I’m looking to provide that same love, patient, routined care to others pets. I work remotely and have a flexible schedule, allowing me to focus on the care your pet needs. I have experience in specialized diets, medications, and mobility support. I also love to walk and would be happy to take your pet for sniffaris. My current full time job is remote work, allowing me plenty of flexibility, particularly if your pet stays in my home. If need be I can also work from others homes, if pets prefer to stay in their home. I live on the second floor of a quiet fourplex, my apartment is accessed via 14 steps on the outside of my building. I care for pets by bringing them on neighborhood walks, and live across the street from a park.
About: I grew up in 4-H and FFA raising and showing all sorts of livestock. Dogs always being a major part of it. I have had the pleasure of taking care of dogs from puppy stages to an acient 16 yr old pug and understand the different responsibilities that come at each stage. I love all animals and will do my absolute best to build the necessary bond with each and every pet I come across. I currently own a border collie who is amazing! I work full time M-F 8am to 4pm with necessary breaks to take my dog out. I work from home most of the week. I am also very flexible, let me know what you need and I am sure we can figure something out. I have a large unfenced yard. I take my dog out at least once a day for no less than an hour. I have parks near, a great neighborhood to walk and a couple nice trails near me. I find it imprtant to switch things up so the dogs do not get bored. I have one dog, a border collie and chickens fenced in my backyard. If your dog is not chicken friendly let me know and maybe we can find a way to make it work. I currently work from home 4-5 days a week and am home most weekends. I am available to let dogs out as often as they need during the day. I have a fenced backyard that is full of dog toys and a possible agility course. My dog and I take an hour walk daily but can adjust to your dogs needs.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Ellensburg
Megan was a phenomenal caregiver for our 2 year old English Lab Everdeen. She had a great sense of humor and and grace for our dogs quirks, took amazing care of her, and our home for 11 days! It was not an easy task, and she did so with flying colors. She was easy to communicate with and followed our guidelines to a T. Trusting her with Everdeen was an excellent choice, and I encourage others to do the same!

Carissa was the best! Super communicative and handled our anxious pit amazingly for his first time home without us. I was not worried at all while the was with him! We came back to a happy healthy dog and a tidy home. The only reason I wouldn’t want to leave 5 stars is because I don’t want her to be booked up next time we need her, but she deserves all the stars! Highly recommend!

Austyn was a perfect fit for us. She took care of everything we needed done (including meds for one of our dogs) and most important, gave so much attention and cuddles to our fur babies while we were gone. Will most definitely be using her again when we travel. Thanks Austyn

Victoria is an amazing pet sitter! She is responsible, communicative, and caring. She handles giving out medicine no problem and I never have to worry about a thing when she’s watching my dog. Now my dog loves her so much and I wouldn’t have anyone else watch him!

Amber did a fabulous job taking care of my two dogs while I was out of town. I rarely travel without my dogs so leaving them is difficult, but she made it easier by providing updates and pictures. I also came home to very happy pups and a very clean house! I definitely recommend Amber. Will book again!

Lacey was a great housesitter for our two high energy dogs! Our second dog has "stranger danger" and big feelings about anyone new but Lacey handled it all like a champ, helping our baby come out of her shell on her own terms over time. Lacey is experienced and leads with a fear-free approach, and is very communicative and professional. We knew our girls gladly have Lacey stay with our dogs again in the future - thank you, Lacey!
Ruby just watched our 2 dogs and 1 cat for 8 days while we were on vacation. She took great care of our pets even though 2 of them are skittish. The house was immaculate when she left and I had full confidence in her while we were gone. Hope to use her again in the future.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Ellensburg on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 242 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Ellensburg. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ellensburg walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ellensburg maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ellensburg choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ellensburg. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
