“This was our first experience with the Rover app and Shannon taking care of Maggie. It could not have been a better experience! Shannon was great with communication and very timely. We had boarding arrangements elsewhere and they canceled at the last minute. Shannon was quick to reply to my inquiry and helped me navigate the Rover app. The "Meet & Greet" went very well with Maggie meeting Shannon's personal K-9 companions. Right from the start, we were very comfortable and confident that Shannon would take great care of Maggie. She was very personable and kept us informed during our travels with pics/updates. When arriving to pick her up, Maggie was happy & seemingly didn't care that we had returned. It was very obvious that Maggie was well cared for and SPOILED! We highly recommend Shannon and won't hesitate to use her again. (6+ 🌟)”

“Heather was an absolutely amazing sitter for our dog. She gave great updates and we loved our dog like he was her own. She handled our senior dog well with his medicine needs, we wouldn’t hesitate to use Heather again in a heartbeat!”

“Corinna did a terrific job with caring for Rizzo and keeping us aware of how he was doing with text and pictures. We would definitely use her services again and would recommend her to others.”

“Jake was great with Dexter. He responded quickly and maintained great communication. He was also very flexible with my hours of availability. Dexter enjoyed his time with Jake and seemed very happy. I would definitely bring him back.”
About: My household has had dogs for the past 12 years. I have watched dogs for other families while they are away several times over the past 10 years. I work very well with energetic and stubborn breeds. Frequents walks. Almost always home. I am a stay at home mom of older children. I am almost always home, and will ensure a fun and yet peaceful environment. Thank you for your consideration. I do have a fenced in yard that is smaller, and live very close to a dog park if desired. I can seperate our dog on a lower level if there is ever any issues, or space is need.
“Emily did a great job caring for our dog while we were on vacation for a week! She sent pictures and updates daily and was very easy to communicate with. She treated our dog like one of her own, even letting him sleep in her bed when he didn’t want to sleep in his kennel! We would definitely use Emily again!”

“Nina loved staying with Marissa who was very quick to respond and consistenly sent Nina's photos an updates two times a day. Nina always looked happy and relaxed. We will definitively use Marissa again.”

“My little Wrigley can be a handful and doesn’t like to be away from her mom. But Carol was amazing! Appreciated all the pictures and communication that was sent to us. Made us feel at ease.”

“Mary is literally the best pup sitter. She takes such care of our pup like he is her own. You can tell her heart belongs to the dogs she sits for by how she takes care of them. You won't be sorry for choosing Mary.”

“I highly recommend this couple. Emilie and Michael cared for our puppy while we were away and they did an amazing job. Good natured couple. Also their dog Lila is a gentle giant. She got along very well with our puppy. We will definitely use their services again. Five Stars.”

“Sierra was a wonderful pet sitter. Both of my kitties loved her which is a rare occurrence. She kept quick communication with me the entire stay and went above and beyond to help my kitties feel comfortable and loved.”
About: Senior care experience! I've adopted multiple dogs at 10+ yrs old from the local pounds and made sure they had the best senior care experience possible. I currently have 2 dogs, both spayed and absolutely love other dogs. A Corgi (Ruby) who is 9 and a Maltipoo (Joplin) who will be 2 this year. The poo was adopted from a kill shelter in TX (and one before her from the same area as well). We've lost 4 dogs in 2 yrs due to old age, 3 within 6 months. Hard pill to swallow but I love them all and would LOVE to love yours too! I am a stay-at-home dog mom. I have all the time in the world to take care of your babies! Believe me when I say they will come home all tuckered out :) I have a fenced in back yard and 2 VERY friendly dogs to keep your pups very much entertained! In your home (if a dog sitter in home is required) you can expect all of their daily schedules to be fulfilled.
“Nyjeah W. Took good care of my Schnoodle Dog Hosanna and my cat Shylynn she was very responsive with updates, very reliable. I would recommend her if you need someone to watch your loving pets she's the best.”

“I was really impressed with the way Taylor made arrangements so quickly after another sitter canceled a week before. The dogs were well taken care of, cage free, fenced in back yard, and they even had a playmate. Several pictures daily. I felt really comfortable. I was starting to Miss them, The last day. Very good communication, compassion and care all around.”

Darcie watched our energetic 4 month lab puppy for 6 days. I have never used Rover but was very pleased and felt comfortable while I was away. She is well equipped with crates and fenced in back yard. Overall great experience and I’ve already booked 2 more times. Thank you, Darcie!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
