About: I’ve always been an animal lover since I was little. Throughout college I have done all sorts of pet/house sitting for friends, family, coworkers etc. I have house sat for a family friend that required feeding and watering horses, milking goats, reptile care, rabbit cleaning care, medicating cats/dogs if needed, you name it. I currently have a Corn Snake, a Western Plains Hognose Snake as well as a Crested Gecko. I have been a Veterinary Receptionist for over 5 and a half years now. I was also an Animal Keeper for about a year with native Illinois Wildlife (including black bears, cougars & bobcats). I am currently transitioning to being a Veterinary Assistant so I am gaining new skills weekly! Currently working a max of 30 hours at my day job as a Veterinary Assistant but recently have been working less. Typically I have Sundays and Wednesdays off during the week but sometimes get another random week day off depending on how busy we are at the clinic. My shifts can vary from 8am to 2pm; 8am to 4pm; 9am to 3pm; 9am to 5pm or even 8am to 6:30pm. The earlier I’m off during the day I am able to help after that too. Your home is their home. I will cater to your pet based on what they like or need. If they just need someone to keep them company I’m there. I will treat your space with respect and follow any instructions given. My pets are family and are treated as such so the same would go for your kiddos.
“Amanda was wonderful! I reached out short notice while I was out of town and my wife had a longer day at work than usual. She did a drop-in visit for our two dogs and everything went smoothly. We’d happily book again!”

About: I have been in love with cats and dogs for as long as I can remember! I grew up with 2 cats and 1 dog in my household as well as chickens, a bearded dragon, a turtle, fish, guinea pig, and a rabbit! Currently I have no animals but I still have the same amount of love for them! I have taken care of my friends and families animals and I’m always happy to meet some new animal friends!! 😍 I am currently a musician part time which means my schedule is flexible and I’m happy to visit your animals whenever is best for their schedule! I will happily send you picture and video updates for your animals! I love to play with them using their favorite toys and don’t mind spending some extra time for some snuggle sessions while I’m there :) I am a musician which means work comes and goes and I make my own schedule so I am extremely flexible and happy to visit whenever! We always had an "electric" fence for our dog which would gently vibrate her collar if she got out of the boundary. She was well trained and very attentive. Our cats were indoor cats and we made sure they knew they shouldn't try and get outside or on counters. The chickens and rabbit were fenced in outside in a giant chicken coop and since I was handling animals at a young age I am very familiar with how to gently care for them.
“Aubrey was available on short notice and did a great job taking care of our cat. She was attentive to his habits and notified us when something deviated from normal so that we could take action to put things back on track. I hope Aubrey will be available to care for our cat again!”

“I can’t say enough good things about Jocelyn! We were out of state for a wedding and the communication and pictures were top notch! My dog loves her and I’ll be sure to use Jocelyn again in the future!”

“We can't recommend Keri enough. Leaving our fur baby is always stressful but knowing Keri will be there always puts our minds at ease. Sending daily updates and photos helps us know our pet is safe and well-loved. We will absolutely be booking with her again.”

“Cassy is really great! She was very patient with me because this is my first time using Rover. She even helped us do extra work like cleaning the litter and cats’ throw-up on floor. Really sweet. We are 100% satisfied.”

“Samantha did a wonderful job caring for our 3 cats while we were on vacation! She even kept our escape artist cat from getting out. I would definitely hire her again!”

“Mark K. is dependable and highly qualified as a Dog care giver. Our Bordoodle gets walks, playtime and his medication right on time during his visits! We highly recommend Mark😊”

“Myra did a last minute drop in visit for me! I have 3 dogs that can be alot especially getting to know their routine and food schedule. She took it on like a champ!! Thanks for the help again myra! Will definitely be booking again”

“Sara is reliable and great with my dogs! Shes good about being descriptive of how the interaction went and sending pictures while taking care of doggos. Our go to sitter!”

“I couldn't be happier with Serenity's care for my dog! She was attentive, reliable, and treated my pup like her own. It was clear she has a natural love for animals, and I felt completely at ease knowing my dog was in her care. Serenity sent regular updates, which made the experience even better. If you want someone who will be excited to care for your dogs, THIS GIRL IS THE ONE FOR YOU! Not only does Megan give my dog all the love and attention he needs, but she’s on time, responds fast, and is great at updating during visits to give owners peace of mind. Will definitely be contacting her again for walking, dog sitting, and the like!

Rita was so good to our puppy! She took Ruby for a walk and handled her high energy expertly. She is extremely responsible, making sure all directions were followed. Rita was a past student of mine, and besides being extremely bright, she has a sunny love of all animals that is obvious in the way she cares for Ruby. I highly recommend her as a pet sitter with no reservations. I am sad that she will be heading back to college soon, but I know Ruby has a new friend for the future.

She took notes during the meet and greet, which gave me confidence. She left detailed notes after each visit, which lowered by anxiety greatly. She let me know when she was going to be late, something I had approved of before hand as long as she told me in advance. No cat sitter is perfect but of everyone ive worked with, she is the closest

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
