“Sarah did great with our cats…very reliable and a good cat photographer! She spent a good 30 mins each visit. Kept things tidy, even wound our grandfather clock for us. Would love to book her again.”

“Scott was fantastic while taking care of our cats for the weekend. He clearly has lots of experience with cats and animals of all kinds. Scott made sure to ask good questions regarding their care needs which made me feel very comfortable having him watch our cats while we were gone. I will certainly be having Scott watch them again!”

“Nadia was wonderful! She loves my cats as much as I do. She was very communicative. She took pictures every day. She deeply understands pet owners and their need to be connected - and having her 3-year-old daughter interact with the cats was also a treat! Top recs!”

“Donna was terrific. I got updates every day with pictures. She went over and beyond what was expected. I forgot to turn on lights for the cats and it was so nice to pull up late at night and she remembered to leave lights on for them. She also brought in my mail and dealt with some unexpected accidents around the house from my older cat Lou. Will definitely book Donna again from my next trip”

About: I have been dog sitting with Rover for the last few months. Clients have enjoyed my flexibility, attention to detail, and bond with their dogs. Additionally, I grew up with a family cat, and have had my own cat the last three years. I’ve also spent extended stays at family’s houses helping care for dogs, cats, and a parrot. I love learning and paying attention to the unique ways animals communicate their needs and wants. Friends and family can attest that I can “read” my cat like a book, and have even taught him tricks such as sit, shake, and roll over. The key for me is establishing trust with the animal. With trust and reinforcement, I have been able to brush, trim nails, and bathe pets that even their owners struggled to manage. *Message me about light cleaning and household chores as well! I always change pets water and tidy toys if needed, but we can also discuss additional services such as wiping surfaces, washing dishes, and taking care of other household chores. I’m currently looking for my next job opportunity, so I’ll have plenty of flexibility to meet your pets needs. I’m available for weekday and weekend visits, any time of day - including in the early morning. With my close attention to detail, I will notice and notify you about any changes in behavior, and be sure to address any environmental hazards. Having had multiple cats over the years, I know all about pets rushing doors, or opening them in my cat’s case, and affinities for cables and small items finding their way into pet’s mouths. I keep all of these in mind when entering a new space, including my own, as I have moved several times with pets as a college student. And I understand how difficult it can be leaving your fur baby with someone new, which is why I value open communication about visits and behaviors, and pictures!
“Amber was fantastic! She set up a meet and greet with my animals and they immediately loved her. She had excellent communication and asked for expectations. We went over medications and time frames and she was very honest with her availability and schedule. Not only that, I was a dummy and had requested wrong dates in the future when I needed her that weekend. She was THANKFULLY available and we booked! The animals were well taken care of, we got tons of photos of our babies, and updates on our escape artists (cats). Not only that, I’m pretty sure she washed a few dishes in our sink which was such an amazing surprise after driving home from our weekend hockey tournament. It was a great experience and I look forward to hopefully booking her again!”

“Jackie did a great job watching our cat! She came to our house in advance to meet our cat and get all the info she needed to make sure his needs were met while we were gone. We liked her immediately. Our cat, who is usually shy around strangers, was letting her rub his belly within 15 minutes! Jackie sent photos taken during each visit and provided updates on how he was doing. She’s extremely conscientious and we were confident our cat was getting all the attention he needed. I would highly recommend her and will definitely book with her again when we need a sitter.”

“Nicholas was great. We scheduled a meet and greet earlier in the day since one of the dogs is a challenge. We had a drop in scheduled for later the same day. We got updates and pictures putting us at ease while we were gone for the majority of the day. Thanks again.”

“Amanda is a pleasant individual with a servant heart. She is obviously experienced with cats by the way she picked up and interacted with Gracie during our interview. Gracie took right to her. Amanda's visits were on time and thorough. I loved all the pictures, especially the ones of her holding and loving on Gracie. Amanda was also kind enough to bring an unexpected delivery of several large and heavy boxes into the house. I highly recommend her for cats and I will definitely book again.”

About: I work part time and am pretty flexible with my schedule. My fiancée and I currently have 4 cats but I grew up with dogs. I love dog sitting for friends and family. My previous dog was diabetic so I have given insulin and have with experience with senior dogs. I currently work part time so I have a lot of time to play with your animals! Our cats love to cuddle and to go for walks in their stroller. I use automatic feeders for dry food and give them wet food once a day. I’ve pet sat where animals are free fed or prefer to be fed at a specific time.
“This was our first time using a pet sitter we didn’t know and Elizabeth made us feel very comfortable. She was great with the cats, great communication. I would certainly use her again.”

About: I have two fur babies of my own, so I understand that trusting someone else to care for your pet can be challenging. However, sometimes we don't have a choice. With me, you won't have to worry at all; I will love and spoil your furry friend just like I do with my own. I absolutely adore dogs and wish I could have more! You can rest assured that your pet will be in good hands and will have playmates to feel comfortable with. My female dogs are very loving and playful. Bella is 6 years old and weighs 33 lbs, while Chloe is 4 years old and weighs 68 lbs. I would love to care for your pet and provide them with a warm home filled with love, attention, and furry friends. I work from home several times a week. I am home on the weekends. While your fur baby is in my care, they will receive my full attention. While your pet is in my home, they will be loved and treated as a part of the family. They are welcome to sit or lie on the sofa, and I also have pet beds available if they prefer to use those or they can bring their own.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
