“Karina was amazing. She was available short notice and took such great care of my two cats. I think one of them likes her better than me now. Haha. I highly recommend her for any of your pet sitting needs.”

“Gillian took great care of our dogs in her drop ins. She kept us updated, sent pictures, and made sure they were well taken care of. We will be using her in the future.”

“This was our first time using a dog sitter and Nicole exceeded our expectations! She was wonderful with our dog and updating us on how the time went while she was there. She even played fetch with Willow which was not expected at all but very much appreciated. We highly recommend Nicole and will definitely book with her again.”

“This was our first time using Rover and we count ourselves lucky to have had Nadia to take care of our two Siamese cats in our home. She was terrific in communicating how things were going each day and kept us updated (and stress-free!) with photos from her visits. She even cleaned up the occasional kitty barf and litter mess around the pan! Aside from doing all of these wonderful things to keep our pets feeling cared for in their own home, she is a lovely person to work with. We hope she'll want to work with us again!”
“Best sitter we've had from Rover so far. (We have talked to several sitters, we liked and were highly qualified). Scott was above and beyond. He had Gremlin be a lap kitty (which he isn't usually, unless he'sstressed) and gave him extra love. It was Gremlin's first time w/o his people since he lost his housemate Dany. Will definitely be our first go to from now on.”

“Mary took such good care of our gang of quadrupeds. We booked last minute but she was still able to schedule a meet & greet with the crew prior to caring for them. One of our dogs (ok, 2) struggles with new people, but Mary was patient and took her on a little trust walk to get acclimated, which meant a lot to us. She was a dream and we highly recommend her to care for your loved ones too!”

“Donna was prompt and did everything I requested of her, including playing with my little dog to motivate him for treat rewards; which is his favorite thing to do. She sent adorable pictures of him enjoying her visit both inside and outside and kept in contact with me for any questions she that came up. I would highly recommend her!”

“Sarah did great with our cats…very reliable and a good cat photographer! She spent a good 30 mins each visit. Kept things tidy, even wound our grandfather clock for us. Would love to book her again.”

“Julianna came and did some drop-off visits for my malinois and pug, she was very communicative and punctual. My dogs were well taken care of and I really appreciate the peace of mind while we were out for the day.”

“Elizabeth was wonderful - she was very prompt with all the time frames and took great care of our feline overlord! Lots of pictures, and we could tell that our cat enjoyed her company, would absolutely recommend her services!”

“Wonderful! Marlow did a great job taking care of our 4 cats while we were away. They all have their quirks, including special directions, foods, and medications, and Marlow was on top of it all! They kept us updated at every check in and you could tell that they took the time to give them a bit of attention at each visit. We also got picture updates which were always appreciated! Great at communicating and very responsive. Our cats were happy and healthy when we returned - highly recommend having Marlow take care of your pets!”

“We were so worried about leaving our new rescue alone for more than 5 hours and then we went to rover and I found Madeline 10/10 she is so caring and loving to the dogs it clearly comes natural to her she followed everything down to the last detail perfectly. Our dog used to bark for hours when we left … after she is with her my dog seems so content and happy. 1000% recommend!!!”

“Whitney does such a great job with our pups! We love having her watch them because she is reliable and I can also tell they truly enjoy being with her! Thank you, Whitney!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Aqueduct
Kathryn was great and I highly recommend! I came home to two very happy cats. My outgoing cat immediately took to her once they met! She made sure to check in on my shy cat and give him attention too. She was very responsive and gave detailed updates while checking in on my cats.

I seriously cannot recommend her enough. Kimberly is a LIFE SAVER. We were out of state and stuck due to a snow storm. Not only did she go over extra to make sure our cat’s feeder was working, she made sure he was safe and sound during the storm when we couldn’t get back in time. Our cat wants us to go on vacation more often so she can come see him!

Marlow took such amazing care watching our cats, especially with some snow hitting while we were out of town. Marlow was responsive, quick to schedule a meet and greet with the cats, and provided detailed daily updates with photos. I would absolutely use Marlow again for pet sitting!

Whitney has always treated our cat Poppy with a great amount of care and respect! Poppy has also warmed up to Whitney in a beautiful way which we have rarely seen with others. We trust her in our home and with our sweet kitty and are so happy to have her nearby to help out :)

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 564 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Aqueduct. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Aqueduct. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
