My dog also had a Minor injury and Chris went above and beyond to stay with him and keep an eye on things making sure he couldn’t make it worse.”

“Jennifer was great - she came to our home for 3 nights that we were going to be out of town to take care of our 10 lb. chihuahua mix. The house was left spotless and our dog seemed like she had a really great time while we were away (which isn't always the case). We'll definitely be booking again for our in-home pet sitting needs.”

About: I am a huge animal lover. I have raised six chickens and loved them like family. At the Pumpkin Wall Farm in Derry, I volunteer with rescued barn animals. I am more than welcome to keep your cat, teacup dog, or small animal company while you are away. Your little ones will be fed, played with, and cuddled. While I don’t specialize in grooming or medical administration yet, I am excited to learn and follow any procedures your pet requires. My schedule is astonishingly flexible. If you need someone at the last minute, I am here for a quick drop-in. I am available Monday through Friday. Note: My availability varies around Sundays and major holidays. Your cuddle-buddies will always be kept in a clean, safe, and enriching environment with me. Litter boxes and food stations will be kept pristine throughout the day. Places where your pet can easily get lost will be checked such as: cabinets, closets, tight spaces and wires. Pets are leashed and supervised on our fun outdoor trips.

“Allison was truly a blessing and if I ever need this service again, I will absolutely contact her! This was my first time ever leaving for multiple days and our planned sitter (a friend of ours) fell through shortly before our trip. Allison gave us the peace of mind that our dog's would be taken care of. She stayed with them for more time than I had even dared hope for and sent us regular updates. She was transparent, responsible, respectful and kind. Upon our return it was obvious that our dogs missed us but it was also obvious that they had been well cared for and treated with nothing but love and kindness. I can't possibly be even more thankful than I am.”

About: Hello! I’m a New Hampshire native who loves spending time with dogs and am looking forward to providing some extra pup companionship! 🐾 I have experience with large, medium, and small dogs, as well as walking, administering medications, and overnight stays. I’m very active and live near a great trail, so I’d love to take your pup for a walk, run, or adventure! But if relaxing is more your dog’s speed, I’m also an expert in lounging and sunbathing. I currently have a very flexible schedule and am available throughout the week and on weekends, including daytime, evening, and overnight care. I’m happy to work around your schedule and your pet’s routine. My goal is to make sure every dog feels happy, comfortable, safe, and right at home while they’re in my care. I’ll treat your pup like one of my own and keep you updated so you can enjoy peace of mind while you’re away! I have a very flexible schedule and am able to dedicate plenty of time to caring for pets throughout the week. I’m available for daytime visits, walks, evening care, and overnight stays, with weekends available on request. I’m happy to work around your pet’s routine and schedule whenever possible. My flexible schedule allows me to give pets plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, and companionship while they’re in my care. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a fenced-in backyard where dogs can safely get some fresh air and play, and there are no other pets in my home, so your pup can have my full attention. For car rides, I have a hammock-style seat cover and a dog seat belt to help keep your pet secure and comfortable. I am happy to follow your preferred method of car safety for your dog. I’ll always follow your instructions and your pet’s normal routine, and I want every pet in my care to feel safe, comfortable, and at home.

“Allison was absolutely amazing while watching Panelo. She is wonderful with communication, she sent me daily updates and pictures, which gave me a lot of peace of mind while I was away. She took such great care of my little guy, going above and beyond by not only meeting his daily needs but also taking him on fun outings and adventures that he clearly enjoyed. When I returned, the house was in mint condition. Allison is clean, respectful, and responsible. Most importantly, she was so kind and loving toward my dog. It was clear he was happy, relaxed, and well cared for the entire time. I would 100% recommend working with Allison and would absolutely hire her again. She made the entire experience stress-free, and I felt completely confident leaving my dog and home in her care.”

About: I’ve had dogs in my life since I was 9 and truly can’t imagine life without them. I grew up with a black lab, Zida, and my family also has Riley, who is now 16 and has given me lots of experience caring for senior dogs and their changing needs. I adopted my own dog, Sarabi, as a puppy almost 6 years ago and spent a lot of time training her and helping her work through shyness, anxiety, and separation anxiety. She’s now my best buddy! I have experience with dogs of all ages, sizes, personalities, and energy levels, from puppies and high-energy dogs to anxious dogs who need extra patience and seniors who need a little more care. I’m comfortable with feeding schedules, crates, oral medications, special diets, walks, basic training routines, and lots of playtime and cuddles. The biggest thing for me is meeting each dog where they are. When I meet a new dog, I let them approach me on their terms and never force an interaction. Some dogs want to be best friends immediately, while others need time and space, and I’m completely comfortable with both. I want your dog to feel safe and comfortable with me while you’re away. I work from home three days a week, which gives me plenty of flexibility to spend time with your dog throughout the day. For house sitting, I’m happy to work remotely from your home, so your dog can have company, regular potty breaks, walks, playtime, and attention throughout the day. I’m also available on weekends depending on my schedule. I know how important it is to feel comfortable with the person caring for your dog, and I’ll always follow your routines and instructions while in your home. I’m very attentive to each dog’s personality and boundaries and will never force interaction with a dog who needs time or space. I’m comfortable with crates, feeding schedules, oral medications, special diets, and dogs with anxiety or other individual needs. My goal is to keep their routine as normal and comfortable as possible while you’re away.

“I have used Rover for years, and Erin has been by far the best dog sitter I have had the pleasure to work with. She house sat my 14-year-old Yorkie, Molly, for a week. Molly, in addition to being an elderly little one that requires daily oral meds, suffers from separation anxiety. She’s an extremely picky eater that tends to mope around and not eat when I have to go out of town and can’t take her with me. Erin kept my little girl company and was as sweet and kind to her as if she had known Molly for ages! She medicated Molly as instructed, took her for her little old lady slow walks around the yard, and sent me lots of updates and pictures. Erin was not only amazing with my Molly, but she was also very respectful of my house and even offered to wait for me to be home before leaving in case there were any issues with my flights. She genuinely cared for my fur baby, and that meant the world to me.”

About: I have always been a pet owner, I have experience with small, medium, and large pets of all types and of all age ranges. I have recently moved to the Manchester area and no longer have a dog of my own. I would love to come and take care of your dog! I do work in Manchester full-time, but have flexibility to handle potty breaks, and midday walks. I am available to housesit, walk, give meds. I know this says boarding, but I cannot board in my own home. I do currently work full-time, but I am available for morning midday, and evening walks, hikes, rides, feeding, meds, and general company. I am also very comfortable and low for overnights in your home. I am CORI and background checked. I will not be boarding animals in my own home. I know that boarding is a service that it looks like is offered. I’m trying to figure out how to remove it from my profile now. I can only do houses sitting overnight right now.

Jeanne came to the house ahead of time to meet our puppy and understand our needs and Coco's routines. Korryn is fantastic! Our dogs love her and she was so good to them! Korryn is very punctual and responds very quickly to messages. She even cleaned the dogs treat dishes which we found so sweet. Sometimes it’s the little touches that mean so much. Very respectful of our home and we felt so relaxed while away. We will definitely be contacting her again for future sitting of our dogs.

This is about the third time Sandy has taken care of our kittes and home, and she always does an outstanding job. It allows me to fully relax and enjoy our travels because I know that our babies are happy. They used to get so freaked out when they saw the suitcases come out. Bu now they just look on as we prepare for our trip, knowing that their friend Sandy will soon arrive to entertain them.

FAQs for House Sitting - East Derry

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred East Derry walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in East Derry maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in East Derry choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
