“After a late cancellation by our usual dog sitter for reasons beyond her control my son suggested Rover. In doing a search I found Nina who was close to us and thankfully available. We have a 4 year old German shepherd who is somewhat protective of my wife and I as well as our home; we also have a 1 year old Golden Retriever who is exceptionally shy. During the meet and greet it took all of 2 minutes for our shepherd to walk around the house licking Nina’s hand, Nina is a natural with dogs. It took a little longer for our shy little golden girl to warm up to her but it came through time and positive attention. Nina provided us with regular updates and excellent care for our beloved pups, we couldn’t ask for any more! On our return home the house was immaculate, the dogs were happy and well cared for, Nina was a star and set the bar so high that in the future we’ll be making our vacation plans around Nina’s availability! Rover provided us with a great communication platform and peace of mind for our dog’s care in our absence. Do we recommend Rover: Yes, do we recommend Nina: absolutely!!”

About: I have been fortunate enough to have had animals most of my life. These have ranged from dogs, rabbits, chickens, horses, cows, and fish. I have volunteered time at a wildlife rehab and also worked a few years at a dog daycare facility that would average about 50 dogs a day. I have a bachelors degree in Animal behavior, ecology and conservation. I have always had a special place in my heart for animals. I currently have 2 rabbits and a dog. I am a substitute teacher so my schedule is rather flexible. It allows me to arrange my week how I need it. My afternoons are usually pretty open. About: I was raised on a small family farm, and have cared for goats, chickens, ducks, pigs, and more while a part of that. As a child and teenager, I trained dogs through my local 4-H program, and later on started petsitting for family friends. I've cared for puppies, senior dogs, cats, chickens, cows, pigs, goats, turtles, geese, canaries, ducks, and so many others, and I'm always willing to learn something new! I work full-time, night shifts during the week and mornings on weekends, but I'm typically only gone 8 hours max, so there's still plenty of time for me to provide plenty of care and attention to the pets! I typically stay overnight, and will either crate the pets if needed, or let them sleep with me, I wake up with them and spend my day hanging out with them, playing or just relaxing. I do my best to care for each pet as their owner would, to help minimize stress.

About: Everyone will say that they love dogs but not only do I love dogs but all animals. I have worked in 4 AZA accredited zoos as well as Walt Disney World. I have worked with dogs, cats, lizards, snakes, donkeys, llamas and many more animals. I am able to communicate well with people about their animals as well as recognize the body language of dogs to understand if they're feeling tired, anxious etc. I also understand the patience that comes with animals, especially dogs that may feel timid around new people, and the need to calmly wait for them to accept you. I am mainly available at night on weekends and weekdays but am available anytime during the day on Saturday and Sundays. I am energetic and can keep up with many dogs by running, playing, walking long distances and more! Pet care fits into my routine very well. About: I’ve been a dog owner since 2020, when I got my first dog as a puppy. Since then, I’ve learned firsthand what it takes to raise, train, and care for a dog from a young age. I wake up and the first thing I do is feed mouse (our cat). Then I bring the ducks (blueberry, broccolini, Beansprout, bubbles) out to forage. Throughout the day I play with mouse as she expresses a need for it and the ducks are allowed to forage as long as they behave. Mouse then gets dinner around 4 and that’s around when the ducks go in for the night, sometimes let out later for an evening roam before bed. I keep Metal’s (bearded dragon) food and water bowl full and he gets weekly showers, he has become less energetic with age so he has less interest in roaming outside his tank than in his youth. I talk to them like they’re children, as many pet parents do. They recognize some words I use regularly, mouse (our cat) has learned “sit” for when she’s begging for food. The ducks (blueberry, broccolini, Beansprout, bubbles) know “very good” as positive reinforcement for good behaviors. They also know wow and stretch as admiration for their regular preening and, well, stretching!

About: I have worked professionally with dogs for over 8 years in both a daycare setting and a veterinary clinic. I was a manager at a daycare for over 7 years and in my time there cared for up to 95 dogs a day! I am extremely comfortable and familiar with all sizes, temperaments, breeds as well as behavioral issues. I am also experienced and comfortable working with cats, reptiles, birds and rodents! I am currently a full time student at Buffalo State. I work part time at a veterinary clinic and have plenty of time between work and school to care for your pets!
