20. Andrew L.

“The short version: Drew is an absolute gem & I will rebook with him any and every chance I get. Above and beyond. I was a bit nervous about leaving my Aussie, Jasper, who is high energy and a velcro dog. All of my fears disappeared when I found Drew. Jasper ended up making a wonderful friend; he had a fabulous time playing and socializing with Drew and friends. He was even a little sad to have his vacation at Drew's house end. Your dog will have such an amazing time and you will be able to be away from your pet with peace of mind. The long version: My Aussie Jasper and I have not spent much time apart and he is very much a mama's boy. I had attempted boarding Jasper with my vet's office doggie day care facility, but it proved too overwhelming and overstimulating for Jasper. He had a terrible time and it left me feeling even more anxious about leaving him again. Summer came and I had a trip planned with a friend. I was a wreck thinking about what to do with Jasper, procrastinating and imagining horror stories. After exhausting friends and other people who felt "safer" than someone from the internet, I found Rover and I'm so glad I did. Rover introduced me to Drew. He already had great reviews and everyone boasted about what a good time their puppers had while vacationing with him. As I looked over his profile and read more reviews, I quickly placed him at the top of my list and I contacted him along with a few other people. I felt like I had impossibly high standards for anyone watching my fur baby, but Drew made them all look easy breezy. From the very beginning Drew was kind and welcoming and calm. He responded to my request quickly and provided a timeline for when I could expect communication from him. He obliged my desires for a meet and greet, which, admittedly, I wanted more so to get to know Drew better than to introduce him to Jasper, though that was also part of it. As we walked around Drew's neighborhood, I was delighted to learn we shared a similar work and activity flow, which meant Jasper would remain on a very familiar schedule. He asked so many thoughtful questions about Jasper and our routine, all with the intention of understanding what he would need to do in order to provide Jasper with a similar experience as he would have at home. I could feel just how much Drew genuinely cares about his role as doggie vacation guide and also his genuine love for dogs. I could've cried tears of joy. I couldn't believe I had found the perfect person to watch Jasper. Jasper was so excited to see Drew again. He was ready to hang! Drew sent me updates and photos every day, which was so reassuring. With me, Jasper gets quite a bit of exercise every day and I worried he might be too rambunctious with someone else. Drew took Jasper on long walks and scheduled doggie play dates providing Jasper with lots of physical and mental exercise. Jasper stayed on his regular schedule and transitioned seamlessly between houses. Drew kept all of Jasper's things organized, even going as far as cleaning and sanitizing some items. Drop off and pick up were so smooth, it was like we had done it 100 times before. Jasper came home exhausted after all the fun he had at his new friend Drew's house and, believe me, he would have stayed longer if he could. I will book Drew every chance I can. He is a wonderful person, so genuine and caring. He will think of your dog like they are his own family. You couldn't ask for better.”
