“Was so great with my kitties! She sent me updates every day and that made me feel much more comfortable about leaving them with a sitter for the first time! Super appreciate that she was willing/able to watch them over Christmas! If I ever need another sitter I will definitely be asking Emily!”

“Jasmine did an excellent job with our animals. She quickly understood just what was needed, handled everything we discussed, and went out of her way to make sure everything was taken care of. Our dogs were content and happy when we got home. We will definitely book her again!”

“Savannah took care of our 4 dogs while we were gone on vacation. She kept us informed and sent many pictures. Savannah displays a love for animals and our dogs really like her. Our scared yorkie even warmed up to her and that is a real accomplishment. We will definitely book her in the future.”

“Kellie did a great job! She updated us every day about our cat. The cat can be a little difficult when it comes to taking her meds but she was able to give it to her every day! Thank you!”

“Morgan took great care of my two cats when I was away! Sent photo updates every visit, played with them, gave supervised outdoor time on the balcony, and also watered our plants. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve been a lifelong dog-lover who hasn’t had the chance until now to pursue my dream of working with dogs full-time! My love for dogs has always been a big part of my life. In college, I worked for an animal boarding and daycare facility, I’ve frequently dog sat for friends and family, I worked with a nonprofit who trains therapy and medical dogs in college, and I had a sweet Brittany Spaniel growing up and have been living life with my hound dog Maci for the last 11 years. I’m excited to see how I can be of help with your pets! I am currently free and flexible to care for your pet anytime of the week! I am available for boarding periodically throughout the week and weekends. I prefer to care for pets in their known environment, but I do have a fenced yard and am able to crate a dog if needed
“Our family had a medical emergency that lasted 4 weeks. I had never used a pet sitter before. Sarah took such amazing care of my fur kids, I am so glad I found her on Rover.”

I have knowledge in training, senior pet care, and understanding pet behavior, ensuring your pets receive the attention they need. También hablo español! About: Dogs are better than most people! What sets me apart is my ability to connect with pets quickly and make them feel safe. I’m patient with animals who need time to warm up. I understand that every dog has their own unique personality that deserves routine and connection that makes them feel right at home, even when you’re away. I have experience administering oral and topical medications, keeping up with special diets, and following detailed care instructions to the letter. I have specific experience with dogs that have CHF as well as dogs with liver disease and cancer. I’m a current volunteer and foster with Action Programs for Animals, though I have taken a break from fostering to focus on offering boarding and pet sitting services. I have no small children and work from home, so my flexible schedule allows me to offer walks, drop-ins, or overnight stays at times that work best for you and your pet. I’m big on communication- I send photo and video updates so you’ll always know how your furry friend is doing. My goal is for you to have complete peace of mind while your pet gets all the love, attention, and care they deserve. If boarding your pet, my home is fenced and in a low-traffic and quiet neighborhood. When caring for pets in their own home, I keep their routine as close to normal as possible with same feeding times, same favorite spots, same walks or play sessions they love. I will treat your home with the utmost respect.
“This is for the stop in visits. Allison was wonderful with our very timid dog Lola. She showed up on time, fed her, and patiently let Lola get to know her. We received photos, and several updates on things. Allison was great with her!”

“Samantha was awesome! She quickly responds when we message her. She was very flexible and helpful when we had last minute changes to our schedule. She was a good friend and caretaker of our old dog while we were away checking in when she did her drop in visits and kept us updated on how she was doing. Excellent doggy sitter.”

“Janet was amazing. She did twice-daily drop-in visits and made sure my cat got her medication and supplements at the right times. More than that, though, she was great with with my cat, figured out her habits, and accommodated her whims. I was gone for ten days, and they developed their own routine. Janet sent lots of photos, so I knew my cat was doing well. I highly recommend her and will have her look after Tacy again in the future.”

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
