“Jennifer went above and beyond for our VERY skittish dog Harley and friendly cat, Jinx. Harley is not happy when her family leaves and Jennifer was just so great at communication and cleaning up her accidents. I’m grateful that we can count on someone like Jennifer to take care of our somewhat difficult dog. Highly recommend!”

“Kellie did a great job! She updated us every day about our cat. The cat can be a little difficult when it comes to taking her meds but she was able to give it to her every day! Thank you!”

About: I've been caring for animals for over six years and have experience with a wide variety of pets. In addition to being a dedicated pet owner, I have hands-on experience as a veterinary technician, where I learned how to recognize signs of illness, safely handle animals, administer medications, and provide attentive, compassionate care. I've also provided pet sitting services for dogs, cats, and exotic pets, tailoring my care to each animal's unique personality and needs. Whether it's keeping energetic dogs active, making shy cats feel comfortable, or caring for reptiles, birds, or other exotic species, I prioritize safety, routine, and enrichment. I understand how important it is for pets to feel secure while their owners are away, and I treat every animal as if they were my own. My goal is to provide reliable, loving care so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is in experienced and capable hands. Between being a full-time student and working part-time, I still have plenty of flexibility to care for your pets! My schedule allows me to be available throughout the week for drop-in visits, walks, and pet sitting, and I do my best to accommodate last-minute requests whenever I can! I'm a big believer that pets thrive on consistency, so I'll work with you to keep their routine as normal as possible while you're away. Whether your pet needs an early morning visit, dinner time cuddles, or anything in between, I'm happy to help! Your pet's happiness and safety will always be my top priority. I treat every home with the same respect and care that I would expect someone to show my own, and I take the time to learn each pet's routine so they can feel as comfortable and stress-free as possible while you're away. Whether it's sticking to feeding schedules, cleaning litter boxes, going on walks, or giving medications, I'll follow your instructions carefully and make sure your pet gets the attention, love, and care they deserve. I know every pet is different, so I'm happy to adapt to their personality, whether they want nonstop playtime, quiet companionship, or just someone to keep them company. I'll also keep you updated with plenty of photos and messages, so you never have to wonder how your pet is doing. My previous veterinary technician experience allows me to recognize changes in behavior or health and stay calm if something unexpected comes up, giving you extra peace of mind. Above all, I want you to enjoy your time away knowing your pet is safe, happy, and being cared for like they're one of my own

“Emily did a fantastic job of taking care of our cat Tiger. This is the second time we have used Emily and we are both very pleased with her care of Tiger. Tiger warmed up to her and let her pet her after a few days. Emily followed our instructions that we gave her for Tiger's feeding, treats and crushed ice chips. Emily vacuumed or swept up the litter that Tiger tracks throughput the house. She even went above and beyond, she brought in a package at our door and even went to check our mailbox, because a medication said it was delivered to our box and it couldn't be out in the heat, even though we had a hold on our mail. I will definitely recommend Emily to anyone and we will be using her from now on when we need a pet sitter.”

“This was our first time using Rover, and Jasmine was the perfect fit! She was very professional and eager to get our dogs used to her before our trip. She was always on time for her drop in visits, and we loved the photos and descriptions she sent. It was such a peace of mind knowing our pups were in great hands in the comforts of their own house!”

“Our family had a medical emergency that lasted 4 weeks. I had never used a pet sitter before. Sarah took such amazing care of my fur kids, I am so glad I found her on Rover.”
“Tommie took great care checking in on my cat Bear over the recent holiday. She is a good communicator and left check in notes that put my mind at ease while away. I would rebook with Tommie.”

“Morgan took great care of my two cats when I was away! Sent photo updates every visit, played with them, gave supervised outdoor time on the balcony, and also watered our plants. Highly recommend!”

“Savannah took care of our 4 dogs while we were gone on vacation. She kept us informed and sent many pictures. Savannah displays a love for animals and our dogs really like her. Our scared yorkie even warmed up to her and that is a real accomplishment. We will definitely book her in the future.”

About: My experience with dogs comes from raising and training puppies for Guide Dogs for the Blind as well as my own dog training job! My skills also include handling and giving medications due to interning in vet med. I work with dogs every day of my life due to my line of work. This care may include getting energy out or behavioral issues. I am very eager to make sure that basic needs are met before anything. I also want to ensure some time to taking care of energy as well as affection!
“Adigail is reliable, dependable and flexible with her schedule as our needs change. She usually wins the " find the hiding cat" game and both of our cats are well cared for by her.”

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is the deep respect, love, and attention I give every animal in my care. I truly believe animals show us how to love, live in the moment, and connect with the world around us. Because of that, I see caring for pets as more than a job — it’s a responsibility I take seriously and a relationship I genuinely value. My dedication to their care, comfort, and protection makes me a strong advocate for their joy and safety. I pay close attention to each pet’s personality, routine, and emotional needs so they feel secure, understood, and loved while their owners are away. I have experience caring for pets of all ages and temperaments, including energetic young pets who need patience, consistency, and exercise, as well as senior pets who benefit from gentleness, extra monitoring, slower walks, medication support, and calm companionship. Whether a pet wants to play, cuddle, explore, or simply rest quietly nearby, I adapt to what makes them happiest and most comfortable. My goal is always to create a peaceful, loving environment where pets are treated like family and owners feel complete peace of mind. Every day starts with pets first. The morning begins with fresh water, a snack if needed, and then straight outside to the fenced backyard for a potty break. For dogs, the next part of the routine is one of my favorites — a 3–4 mile walk to help them get exercise, stimulation, and a happy start to their day. After the walk, we settle in for breakfast if that’s part of their routine. Because I’m home throughout the day, pets are never left without attention for long. While I’m cleaning, kitchen prepping, or working around the house, I take frequent breaks for cuddles, playtime, and backyard visits. Whether it’s dogs or cats, I make sure every pet gets regular affection, attention, and companionship throughout the day. I truly enjoy creating a calm, loving environment where pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for like family. I care with attention, intention and detail. I check in often and spend time just sitting with and talking to. I give So much LOVE.
About: An animal scientist with a minor in human-animal interaction with experience volunteering at the animal shelter and working at a veterinary clinic, I specialize in safely handling dogs, preventing conflicts, and providing personalized care. I have knowledge in training, senior pet care, and understanding pet behavior, ensuring your pets receive the attention they need. También hablo español! I work full time at a veterinary clinic, but my schedule is flexible, allowing me to always find time to care for your fur baby when you need it I prefer to pet sitting in your home to keep your pet in their familiar, safe environment, reducing stress. Being in their own space helps them feel more comfortable and secure while you’re away
About: Dogs are better than most people! What sets me apart is my ability to connect with pets quickly and make them feel safe. I’m patient with animals who need time to warm up. I understand that every dog has their own unique personality that deserves routine and connection that makes them feel right at home, even when you’re away. I have experience administering oral and topical medications, keeping up with special diets, and following detailed care instructions to the letter. I have specific experience with dogs that have CHF as well as dogs with liver disease and cancer. I’m a current volunteer and foster with Action Programs for Animals, though I have taken a break from fostering to focus on offering boarding and pet sitting services. I have no small children and work from home, so my flexible schedule allows me to offer walks, drop-ins, or overnight stays at times that work best for you and your pet. I’m big on communication- I send photo and video updates so you’ll always know how your furry friend is doing. My goal is for you to have complete peace of mind while your pet gets all the love, attention, and care they deserve. If boarding your pet, my home is fenced and in a low-traffic and quiet neighborhood. When caring for pets in their own home, I keep their routine as close to normal as possible with same feeding times, same favorite spots, same walks or play sessions they love. I will treat your home with the utmost respect.

About: I've had experience taking care of dogs since I was 14. I've been relied on by several people I know to care for their pets and house sit for them while they're away and there have never been any hiccups! More recently I have also gained cat care experience! I am currently in my first year of graduate school and trying to make some money to help get me through! My weekdays are fairly busy but weekends are almost always free to hangout and take of all furry friends! I would be very accommodating to any pets needs and be very sure they stick to their schedule while being loved on. I will be more than happy to abide by any home rules and ensure everything is taken care of!

About: I grew up with cats and various small pets and always house-sat for my neighbors and family. I've given medication before and am comfortable with timid animals. I've always volunteered at local animal shelters and cannot get enough animal time! I work from home 6am-3pm, but I am able to work from anywhere as long as there's wifi. I can make drop-ins during my lunch and use the afternoon to hang out for longer periods. I have two large dogs that are timid, so I understand how to introduce myself to a nervous pup. I don't mind cleaning up litter boxes or critter cages and am comfortable giving medications.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
