About: I’ve grown up around all types of animals and breeds mostly pitbulls and I currently have a pitbull of my own that I rescued around six months old and have been raising myself he’s so sweet and gentle I also help take care of my sister‘s pitbull I take him on multiple walks a day while she’s at work and givelots of attention, taking them on walks and playing with them is very important to me, I’ve also house sat for neighbors and took care of their pets, and that included cleaning their horses and chicken stalls and giving there dogs medicine/supplements multiple times a day Because I do not work a traditional job my schedule is completely open and dedicated to your pet. I customize my daily routine entirely around your dog's normal habits. For house sitting, I can stay at your home throughout the day to ensure constant companionship. For drop-in potty breaks, I am highly flexible and can visit whenever your dog needs a relief break most. Your pet will never have to wait long for a walk, a potty break, or a belly rub! When I watch pets at your house, my main goal is being respectful of your home and keeping your pets safe and stuck to their usual routine. I treat your home with total respect and always make sure doors and gates are locked tight. Dogs stay on a leash for walks, and I keep a close eye on them in the yard so they don't get into anything. I'm super clean, I always pick up after them, and I'll send you tons of cute photo updates so you know they’re happy! And I’ll follow any and all rules!
About: "As a dedicated and reliable pet caregiver, i will provide an experience tailored to your dog’s unique personality and needs. I understand that your dog is a beloved family member, which is why I prioritize maintaining their familiar routine—from specific feeding times and favorite walking routes to their preferred sleeping spots. Whether your pup is an energetic adventurer who needs plenty of playtime or a calm senior who appreciates gentle companionship and belly rubs, I offer attentive, one-on-one care in a safe and loving environment. You can travel with total peace of mind knowing I provide regular photo updates, clear communication, and the same level of affection I give my own pets. My goal is to ensure your dog stays happy, healthy, and tired out until your return!" As a part-time employed Mom and Grandma, I like to be busy and have time to spare for loving more than just my family and pets. At this moment, I have 3 dogs and two cats, all who need my personal attention several times a day. I would love to do that for you too. I know what it’s like to be stressed about your kitty or dog while away and I can help relieve that, even for just a day or a week.
“Mckenna was wonderful! She was punctual, followed all our instructions including how to lock our gate, sent pictures of both cats at each visit, and kept us up to date! We’re so happy to have found our new pet sitter and can’t wait to book her again.”

About: I've been an animal lover my entire life and have hands-on experience caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, ages, and personalities. I've owned pit bulls, Italian Greyhounds, and cats, giving me firsthand experience with everything from strong, energetic dogs to sensitive, high-energy breeds and independent felines. Because of this, I'm comfortable adapting to each pet's unique needs and personality. In addition to caring for my own pets, I've volunteered at my local Humane Society, where I spent time working with dogs of various breeds, sizes, temperaments, and backgrounds. This experience helped me become confident handling dogs with different energy levels and personalities while ensuring they felt safe, comfortable, and cared for. Friends, family, and neighbors have also trusted me to walk, feed, play with, and care for their pets while they're away. As a Certified Nursing Assistant, providing compassionate, dependable care comes naturally to me, and I bring that same level of patience, attention to detail, and responsibility to every pet I care for. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playing fetch, cuddling on the couch, or simply sticking to their normal routine, I'll make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you're away. I'll also send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your furry family member is in great hands. I understand that every pet is unique, and I'll take the time to learn their routine, preferences, and any special needs so I can provide the best care possible. As a nursing student, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide dependable pet care throughout the week and weekends. I'm available for walks and drop-in visits and I do my best to accommodate each family's schedule whenever possible. I understand how important it is to keep pets on their normal routine, so I'll make sure they receive the attention, exercise, and care they're used to while you're away. I know inviting someone into your home and trusting them with your pet is a big decision. I'll always treat your home with the same care and respect I would my own while making your pet's safety and comfort my top priority. I'll follow your pet's routine, administer medications if needed, and carefully follow any feeding, walking, or care instructions you provide. With experience caring for my own pit bulls, Italian Greyhounds, and cats, as well as volunteering with dogs at the Humane Society, I'm comfortable working with pets of different breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I'll provide plenty of love, attention, exercise, and regular photo updates so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for while you're away.

“Jennifer did a fantastic job watching my cat, Theo, while I was away for a work trip. She went above and beyond—not just taking care of the basics, but making sure to spend quality time playing and socializing with him so he stayed happy and engaged. I had total peace of mind the entire time I was gone. I’ll definitely be reaching out to her again for future travel!”

About: I’ve been dog sitting for different families for about two years and have really enjoyed it. I understand how important it is for pets to feel safe and comfortable when their owners are away, so I do my best to keep their routines consistent and give them plenty of attention, care, and affection. Whether it’s feeding, walking, playing, cleaning up after them, or just spending time with them, I treat every dog as if they were my own. Families have trusted me to care for their dogs, and I take that responsibility seriously. I do work part time, I work full 8 hour days on Thursdays and sometimes Fridays. The other days I work 5-6 hours. I’m usually off around 4:30 or 5 but my start times vary. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I do my best to keep their routine as normal as possible. I follow all instructions provided by the owner, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medication (if needed), and any special care requirements. I make sure pets have plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship while also respecting the client’s home and keeping it clean and secure. My goal is for both pets and owners to feel comfortable, safe, and well cared for while they’re apart
“Kai was great with our dogs. He was super attentive and detailed, great at communication, and took great care of our dogs. We will definitely be booking him again in the future.”

“Crista is a gem! We had her look after our cat, Ghost, who is very shy and reluctant to engage people other than his family. Crista took the time to get to know him as if he was her own and brought him out of his shell which is rare. Crista’s daily check ins with us and attention to detail made our time away more relaxing. I will definitely be reaching out to Crista again if we need a cat sitter!!”

“Dana was so great dropping in on our 2 cats while we were on vacation for 9 days! She went above and beyond and it is clear how much she cared about them. She was a great communicator and sent us lots of pics which helped us know our babies were well taken care of. Thanks Dana for the extra special touches and we will definitely be using your services again!!”

“Zoie checked in on my 2 kitties for feedings, litter box maintenance and play time while I was out of town for 5 days. She let me know when she was in her way and provided feedback and pictures of them. I felt peace of mind knowing they were being well cared for. I would definitely book her again!”

“Theresa did an awesome job caring for my dogs and cat while I was away. My dogs and cat were well cared for and I appreciated the updates with pictures on how things were going. I definitely will have Theresa care for my pets again. She is wonderful! 🙌🙌🙌”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Dollar Corner. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
