“Madison did a wonderful job taking care of my two Shih Tzus while we spent the day touring the area. She was on time for pickup and delivery and sent pictures of them interacting with other day care pets. Thank you Madison!”
About: With over 20 years of experience raising and caring for dogs—many from shelters—I provide a loving and engaging environment for pets. As a dedicated pet sitter, I offer dog walking, overnight stays, feeding, and plenty of playtime. Since I work from home, your pets will always have companionship and care, along with a fun atmosphere that includes other friendly dogs and a lovable cat. I am always home! I work remotely and have plenty of time to hangout with the pooches. My guy gets at least one walk a day (1-2 miles) and beach trips when we can. In my home, I provide a safe, playful, environment with a large fenced in back yard and a doggy door so they can come in and out as they please. Dogs get plenty of exercise, social interaction with other dogs, and a structured routine to help them feel comfortable. In a client’s home, I follow their pet’s routine as closely as possible, providing feeding, walks, playtime, and companionship. I respect each pet’s unique personality and needs, whether it’s giving extra care to an anxious dog or ensuring a cat has a quiet and familiar environment. My goal is to make pets feel safe, happy, and loved, whether they’re in my home or theirs.
“Fernanda was super sweet and attentive with Murphy. She was very good with communication before during and after his day care visit. Fernanda sent pictures during his stay and he was very relaxed and happy. I recommend her for your fur baby too.”

“Emily is amazing ! She is so sweet and attentive and Hutchinson absolutely loves her ! Emily sent lots of pics and updates and I didn’t worry for a minute. Hutchinson was safe and loved. I highly recommend Emily!”

“Rich and Dee were so wonderful with our dog, Staley. I felt super comfortable leaving her with them for the day. Communication was excellent (before, during and after) and they were super accommodating even when I booked last minute. She was tired and happy when I picked her up from a day of fun. Would highly recommend, and we will definitely be using them to help care for our dog again!”

“Karen was amazing with my two pups. I was worried about dropping off my pup, Kobe, since he can be afraid of strangers and has separation anxiety. He took to Karen immediately and didn’t even bark when we left. He seemed to make himself at home right away. Karen kept us updated with pics throughout the day, and Kobe had such a wonderful time that he didn’t even really notice when we came to pick him up. I’d definitely hire Karen again the next time we’re in town!”

“Genia was awesome with our high energy dog, Fiver. She took her to the beach and on walks and sent me photos. Best of all, Genia was super flexible with time during our busy, unpredictable moving day. Fiver can't wait to go back and play with Genia's dogs!”

“Sweetest person of all time! Brianna watched our cavapoo for a couple days while we stayed at the HH National RV park. She lives very close by and was super flexible to accommodate any times I needed to extend or end early. She works from home, has a beautiful house and a sweet little dog of her own. We had one request which was not to ever leave our dog alone and Brianna was more than happy to accommodate. Will absolutely use her again when back in Beaufort, Bluffton or Hilton Head!”

About: Hello! I’ve been caring for dogs, cats, rodents and the occasional bird, for over 35 years, mostly on a personal level, but some professional capacities as well. I have always lived with dogs and have worked in an animal shelter, been a vet technician, and volunteered for a time at a wildlife rescue. I’ve also cared for the pets of many family members, friends and co-workers. Throughout the years, I've considered my own dogs as family members and their care and happiness have always been a priority. I can relate to the stress and anxiety of trying to find someone I trust when I need to be away from my pups, so I know the importance of finding someone reliable that both you and your dog are comfortable with. When meeting and spending times with dogs, I put to use all I have learned over the years about dog behavior, interaction and training. I appreciate all different breeds and sizes and enjoy getting to know each individual dog as I spend time with them, building trust and friendship. I also have experience administering medication and care and am comfortable with special needs pups, be it medical or psychological (shy, fearful, previously abused, etc). Routines are usually important to dogs and I recognize the importance of following instructions regarding care and feeding. I also have the utmost respect for others homes and property. My focus and goal is to provide care and service that brings you peace of mind. Knowing your dog and home are in good hands enables you to fully enjoy your vacation, or focus on what you need to do while you are away from home. I’d love to meet you and your dog and have an opportunity to be their second best friend while you are gone! I am retired and live with my husband (who also enjoys dogs and cats) and have great flexibility and transportation. I'm fine with dogs in my car, too. I’m happy to stay with your pup at your home or, I can watch them at mine, as long are our dogs get along (I never leave dogs without established relationships alone together)
About: Before we had kids, we would dog sit up to four dogs at a time in our home. Now that our kids are old enough and understand how to care for and respect dogs we feel comfortable bringing kid friendly and potty trained dogs into our home. We’re all excited to love on your pup! Julie homeschools our children so they are home a majority of the day. If your pup is destructive or a chewer, please bring a crate for when they have to leave the house. We intend to love and care for your dog just as we love and care for Penny. We work together as a family to ensure your pets needs are met throughout the day and night.

About: Growing up, I was surrounded by animals. Horses, geese, ducks, cats, rabbits, and lots and lots of dogs. My parents rescued and fostered animals of all kinds, but mostly dogs, especially Great Danes. We’ve had every type of dog from a 3 pound Yorky to a deaf Jack Russel to a 187 pound GD, and everything in between. I’ve passed my love of animals on to my own children, who were raised to respect and cherish their pets from an early age. We’ve had birds, cats, and of course lots and lots of dogs! Pets make life so much better. I am retired from the medical field. My husband and I are active people and love exploring, being outside in nature, thrifting, biking, and high school sports. My day will be dedicated to the animals in my care, making them feel comfortable, safe, and loved while in my home. We have a fenced yard and live in a quiet part of our neighborhood. We have a few different sized crates and even a built-in ‘doggy apartment’ under the stairs!

“Our Chocolate Lab spent the day with Marston and his 2 pups while we explored Savanna. This is my first experience using Rover and it is intimidating to leave our sweet Charlie with someone we do not know. I read his reviews and was confident I was making the right decision. Once we met him and his dogs I knew Charlie was in good hands. Charlie ran right in to party. He sent pictures of their adventures. Charlie came home exhausted. I highly recommend Marston.”

“Michelle was fantastic allowing to drop off Bella at the last minute. My son and I were in town for the coin show at the convention center and having Bella stay with Michelle and her other pets allowed us to have a wonderful day. She really cares about your animal and Bella had a great time”

About: My twins and I love dogs! We give them plenty of attention and love. We like to take dogs on long walks or short(whatever they require). The dogs we watch must love children. Right now we only watch one dog at a time so they can get the attention they deserve. About: I’ve always had my own dogs until recently( long, happy lives). I often take care of friends’ dogs and I’m always asked back! Now, instead of having my own I like helping take care of those in need🤗 I am a teacher on Summer recovery!! My schedule is pretty flexible right now! During the school year hours of work are 8:00-4:00. With proper notice, I can make availability. My home is a short distance from where I teach making it easy for a short walk between work hours! My house is on a cul-de-sac with a large backyard. Yard is not fenced but I have a nice sized patio with dog gate! Perfect neighborhood for dog walking and dog park is in close vicinity! I am dog-friendly with a dog-less home!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
