“I have used Deborah for both day care and overnight boarding and she is awesome! She and her family take great care of my anxious boy and I will continue to use her services.”

“Chanisy is a wonderful sitter for our Red Healer Jules! Jules gets plenty of time outside, gets to play with other dogs, and is well loved and cared for!! She has zero hesitation being dropped off there and I can not say that for other sitters we've used!! I'm so glad we've found such a great place for our Jules to be when we go places and can't take her with us. Highly recommend Chanisy Y!!!”

“Kristina always took excellent care of Bandit. He was always happy to visit her. I knew Bandit was in good hands whenever we were away. I would recommend her services to everyone.”

“Lori was great! I am very selective who I leave my dog since he is 13 and I don’t want him getting hurt. I appreciate the good care she took of him while I was away and the picture updates! He came back full grins and I could tell he had a good time.”
“Thank you, Tiffany and family, for taking such great care of Pedro! Such a loving family and he seemed very comfortable. Grateful for the updates and pics :)”

“We’re so grateful to Wallace and LuLu for their flexibility and care in boarding our dog with very little notice, when our family could not. We were put at ease with pictures and reassurance that he had settled in and was getting on fine with the other “campers”, as Wallace put it. They were so welcoming and accommodating. We look forward to Barkley camping there again!”

“Mrs. Barbara is an angel of God. My son had an sudden accident and we rushed out of the house and she graciously took care of our two dogs with no notice. When we came back for them a week later, she sent us away with food and everything. God Bless Her!!!”

“Ella and her family are so great with my 2 dogs and my cat. She has a great home with a yard for them to play in and they get lots of attention. She always sends updates and I never have any concerns leaving my pets with her because I know they’re in great hands.”

“Lauren and her family were amazing. She was easy to work with and quick to communicate. I knew my pup was loved and taken care of and had nothing to worry about. She sent daily pictures with updates of events and I could see in my pups eyes how happy she was, so mush so, that I was afraid she was not going to want to come home- haha. Thank you Lauren!!!”

“Jordan and her family took great care of our dog! He seemed happy his entire stay and we got daily updates. We will definitely use her again in the future!”

“Monica is just amazing! My husband and I had a vacation booked right when Hurricane Beryl was getting ready to make landfall. Monica took such fantastic care of our girls. Even without power, Monica still kept us updated and sent pictures of our dogs. She made sure they were well taken care of and safe! I can’t even express how blessed we are that Monica was watching our girls! We knew that they were in amazing hands.”

“Cathy took great care of Chuchito. She always kept us posted on how our dog was doing and sent pictures of him. When we picked him up he seemed really happy and comfortable. We'll definitely take Chuchito with her again when we need it.”

“Esteban took really great care of my baby! He communicated very well, took several pictures and sent them. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking. Your baby will be in good hands.”

“I never have any worries when my furbaby, Roxie, is with Shy except maybe Roxie may not want to come home when I go to pick her up! She jumps out of my arms as soon as she sees Shy and don't even notice when I leave! Thank you, Shy, for taking such good care of Roxie for me. Until the next time...”

“I boarded my dog with Heather 2 years ago, so this is a VERY late review (sorry!). Heather took really great care of my dog, Pizza, for a long weekend in May 2018. He looked like he was having a lot of fun and was in a great mood when I picked him up. I would definitely book with her again.”

“Stacy was amazing with my dog. She communicates so well and it feels like she really wants to do her best to make sure your pup feels comfortable. I felt at ease leaving Ahri in her care and she sent frequent updates and pictures during Ahri's stay :) We will definitely book again when needed. Thank you so much!”

“Josh and family were GREAT for our pup Clover. It is clear that Josh does this because he loves dogs. He sent lots of updates, photos, and videos to put our minds at ease while we were away from Clover and made sure that Clover’s play needs were met by taking her out to walk and play fetch. If we return to the area we will definitely use Josh again!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Cut and Shoot
Our dogs aren't used to being away from us so we are always anxious about leaving them with a new sitter. They loved Gabriela and Alejandro. They were so happy and relaxed when we picked them up. They were not the least bit stressed and acted right at home. We also received daily pics and updates. We would definitely use Gabriela and Alejandro again!

Chanisy is wonderful. I have used her to pet sit on multiple occasions. She is attentive and responsive to the pet's needs. She also is great in communicating with us as the pet owners to keep us informed and pictures to see how happy our pets are. Thank you Chanisy!

Nina is an amazing dogsitter! Our boys had a fantastic time with her, and we felt completely at ease knowing they were in such great hands. She kept us updated with tons of pictures while we were away, which made us smile and gave us so much peace of mind. It was clear they were happy, well cared for, and getting lots of love and attention. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would absolutely trust Nina with our dogs again. Highly recommend!

Emily was awesome with Rya. She had a meet and greet and made Rya feel super comfortable. My dog gets a little anxious being left with someone new. She sent pictures and updates throughout the stay. Also, as my dog is a little picky having warm food, she prepared it for how she likes. Would recommend Emily to take care of your pet.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Cut and Shoot home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Cut and Shoot.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Cut and Shoot sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
