We were so comfortable to go away on an 8-day vacation after meeting with Kyla. She was able to come over each day and give our cat some company, feeding/water, and most importantly give him the 3 pills for a heart condition. We received updates while away and Kyla was responsive to us when setting up the booking and while we were away.

Kayla was amazing with Bella. She’s very attentive to her and my dog absolutely loves her. Kayla provided us with tons of photos which we loved. I recommend anyone looking for someone to lookout for your furry baby she is the one to go to. I will definitely use her services again in the future. Again stellar job.

Heather is a wonderful sitter. I have a 17 year old dachshund Lady Lala with lots of health issues. Heather is kind, generous, caring and patient to take the extra time she needs. She goes above and beyond on all the visits she’s had with us. I work in an emergency room in Boston over an hour away. On this visit, when she couldn’t get ahold of me, she took my little girl to the emergency room of the veterinary trauma center where she had been seen for her respiratory problems as we had discussed earlier. It’s a half hour away. She saved my little girl’s life. I could not recommend any sitter more highly. She is a dedicated and thoughtful individual to give love and care to your most beloved family member. I can’t thank Heather enough.

Cheryl took great care of my two cats while I was on a two week vacation. She handled food, water, treats, litter, and play just right. From the meet and greet, I could tell she has a sweet and gentle touch and really understands how to relate to cats. Her thorough updates including photos kept me confident that they were in good hands.

Heather is a wonderful sitter! I have an anxious dog, and I was nervous about allowing an unfamiliar person to care for her while I was on vacation. I purposely chose Heather due to her experience with anxious dogs, and I am so glad that I did! Heather scheduled a meet and greet prior to caring for her so my dog could become acclimated to her. Due to Heather's calming presence and careful efforts, Tootsie was very calm upon meeting Heather. While I was away, Heather provided thorough information about my dog, which was extremely reassuring. I felt confident that Tootsie was being cared for by someone who I trust. Heather went above and beyond to make Tootsie as comfortable as possible. I will definitely reach out to Heather again should I need someone to care for her.

About: I’ve taken care of my dogs for as long as I can remember. I have helped out with family, friends, and neighbors when they are away and need help with their fur babies. I love every pet as if they were my own I work part-time and close to my house. I will be able to watch your dog during the day, take them for walks, or even watch them over night! I have two friendly dogs and can easily crate your dog if needed. I have a huge yard and also a big car to transport the dog back and fourth when needed! I know a lot of local spots for walks and nice dog parks! Every dog who I have ever watched, I make sure to keep them safe and happy! And of course most of all feel loved!

She is very professional and always on time and stays the whole time scheduled. My family and I are so happy we have her to be there for our little guy when we can’t be.

About: Hi! My name is Emily, and I have over 8 years of experience working as a veterinary technician. Throughout my career, I’ve cared for cats and dogs of all breeds, ages, sizes, and temperaments—from energetic puppies and kittens to senior pets and those with special medical needs. I am experienced with administering medications, including oral medications, injections, and subcutaneous (SQ) fluids. I can also assist with nail trims, feeding, exercise, enrichment, and maintaining your pet’s normal routine while you’re away. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, active playtime, cuddles on the couch, or simply having a calm and reassuring presence nearby, I tailor my care to their individual needs. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while giving owners peace of mind that their furry family member is in experienced hands. I look forward to meeting you and your pets! I work full time at a veterinary hospital but am always available to do early mornings( before 8 am) Monday: available before 8 am & after 5 pm Tuesday’s: available before 8 am Wednesday’s: available all day Thursday’s: available before 11 am Friday’s: available before 8 am & after 5 pm Saturdays: available after 1pm Sunday’s: available after 1pm I am willing to go to your home & play with your dogs in your own yard (if fenced) & take them for long walks in your neighborhood or any trails in the area.

About: I’ve had animals since I was 6. Growing up I had over twenty cats, numerous dogs (big and small), and a horse! While owning animals allowed me to learn the basics, I’ve spent 10+ years volunteering in both RI and MA animal rescues to help animals in need. This has allowed me to meet an array of different species as well as personalities. It’s also taught me how to socialize feral cats/dogs, administer medication, CLEAN, and give lots of love. Each pet is unique and I learn something from every one of them! Some can run endlessly and others have to be rolled off the couch. I love and care for them all. At the end of the day I aim to be a consistent, stable, and reliable resource for pet parents looking for someone to care for their babies! I’m also open to discuss my pricing if need be I have LOTS of free time!! I’m hoping to fill up my schedule with as many fur babies as possible! The more snuggles the better! Making your pet comfortable is always the goal and that process isn’t always smooth! That’s okay! I have time, treats, and more treats on my side. For social animals I am able to just do what makes them happy. Walks, play time, cuddles, etc. For the shy babies I know it’s not always a one visit solution and that’s okay! I’ve had the meanest feral cats you can imagine in my house who turn into the snuggliest love bugs with a little time, love, and stability. It takes time to build trust and I respect that

Rachel has been absolutely amazing taking care of our cat - he’s a bit older and has various meds but Rachel handled everything with ease, kept us updated throughout, and just clearly really cared about our cat and wanted to make sure he was comfortable and happy. We are really glad to have had her care for our cat over the holidays.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cumberland Hill. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
