“Stephanie was our first ever caregiver for our sweet boy Bud! She is phenomenal & goes above and beyond! She exudes care & love for Bud! We are so lucky to have met her!”

“Katie was very attentive, helpful, and took the absolute best care of our cats. She was very accommodating and asked any questions or concerns she may have which we really appreciated. We felt confident that our babies were well taken care of while we were gone. Would definitely recommend booking her.”

“Makayla did a fantastic job for us while we were at the hospital having our first child. We had some circumstances that made us be there 3 days more than we expected and MaKayla extended her visits with no problem. Our dog loves her and she took great care of our home(cause our dog can be a bit excitable). She gave us the peace of mind we needed with our pup so we could focus on growing our family. If I could give 10 out of 5 stars I would. Will definitely be asking for her help in the future.”

“Ashley is the best person you can have caring for your babies. She went above and beyond for an entire week for my various pets, which included poultry- even in bad weather! I am so grateful to her and highly recommend her for any pets you have.”

“Noeli and her family took great care of my animals while my husband and I snuck away for an overnight trip. We used her Drop-In service for 2 30-minute drop-ins. She sent us great pictures to assure us our dogs were well cared for. Thank you Noeli and Vivian. I will definitely want to use you again!”

About: I have 2 small dogs of my own and a cat who I rescued off the streets! My cat was very feral and now she’s so loving. I’ve also took care of my cousins Doberman and pitbull which I love I just love animals and make time for my pets because they keep me motivated. I also go to college so when I’m not home my family helps care for them. In my home I have 2 dachshunds and let them out to potty and watch them to make sure there okay outside before letting them in to eat breakfast. Same thing goes for lunch and dinner. For my cat aka my sisters cat I also feed her when my sister isn’t home.

“Ronda watched our cats for a week and made sure they were fed, safe, and given attention while we were away. We appreciated her help and the care she provided during our time out of town.”

“Keshia was amazing! She left wonderfully detailed notes and it was great to feel like the person taking care of our girl actually cared! I highly recommend Lakeshia and will definitely be using her services in the future!”

“Rover review: Parker (Hannah) is an outstanding Rover representative! Our pet babies (2 doggies & 2 kitties) love Parker and welcomed her with love every time she came to care for them 3x a day. We appreciated the fantastic pet pics Parker sent us, and the love that Parker gave to our babies while their parents were away is invaluable.”

“Absolutely terrific! She was reliable, communicative, and caring. Our dogs, even our asshole chihuahua, took to her immediately! We will definitely use Kimberly again. Thanks for taking such good care of our boys, Kimberly ?”

About: I have had pets all my life, from growing up through adulthood. Your dog will become one of our family while away from you. You get 4 dog sitters for the price of 1 as we are a family of 4 looking to care for dogs in our home. That means 4x the cuddles for your pup! As I do not work during the days I will be caring for your dogs, walks are given on demand and/or on a schedule as provided by you! We live on almost a full acre of property, giving your dog ample space to run, play and get exercise. At night time, your dog has his/her choice of beds to snuggle up in as I allow dogs to sleep in all beds in my home. Please be aware that we do have 1 cat of our own. She has been around several dogs and always does well!
About: As the daughter of a pet-sitting business owner and veterinary technician, I’ve been caring for animals from an early age. With over 10 years of experience working alongside my mother and in veterinary offices across Northern Virginia, I’ve learned that every pet is unique and deserves individualized care. Before moving back to Northern Virginia in 2023, I also owned a successful pet-sitting business in St. Croix, USVI. My own pets have taught me a lot as well—my pit mix, Bella, survived both a fighting-breed environment and Hurricane Maria, and my two rescue bassets struggled with separation anxiety, as well as our Moluccan cockatoo we raised from a nestling. Those experiences reinforced the importance of patience, empathy, and consistency. I’m a non-smoker, organized, and detail-oriented. I’m also available for last-minute needs and those holiday plans that sometimes run longer than expected. Above all, I take this work seriously and will care for your pet with the same love I give my own. 🐾🖤 Working mainly from home allows me the flexibility to plan my days around feeding, walks, playtime, and making sure pets feel safe, loved, and cared for. In my home or a client’s, I follow each pet’s usual routine for feeding, walks, play, and rest, while giving them plenty of love and attention to keep them comfortable. We can work on learning new tricks and reinforcing obedience training.
About: I've taken care of sick dogs, dogs on diets, and dogs that are used to a routine, but am able to take care of any situation. I love to be around animals and will happily make sure your dogs are kept safe and happy. I work Full-time Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Friday from 8:30 - 4:30 and Wed from 11 -7. I am happy to come "home" each day after work to your home and stay during the workweek, I just will not be able to be with them until after work during the week. I am fully available on most weekends, so just let me know what works! For the dogs I have taken care of before, I always walk with leashes, even for well trained dogs, I will be new to them. I always pick up after dogs on walks. I have owned cats and dogs all my life, and am very comfortable with any dog or cat. I will keep doors locked when inside and of course when leaving the house.
“Courtney was awesome! She came to visit prior to her drop in so I could introduce her to Walter and go over some things. During her drop in she sent me a bunch of pictures and gave me a whole run down as to what they did. It was truly a blessed feeling that he was being taken care of well!!!”
About: Hi! I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember. Growing up, our home always had dogs and cats, so caring for animals has been a natural part of my life from an early age. Over the years I’ve learned how important it is for pets to have regular exercise, fresh air, attention, and loving care to keep them happy and healthy. My husband and I currently share our home with two very spoiled pups—a tiny Chihuahua mix and a large German Shepherd—so I’m comfortable caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities. From energetic walkers to cuddly companions, I truly enjoy getting to know each pet’s unique character. I believe pets are family members, and I treat every animal in my care with the same love, patience, and attention I give my own. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or simply providing comfort and companionship, I’ll make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I look forward to meeting you and your wonderful pets. I work from home most days, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to give pets the attention and care they deserve. I love spending time outdoors in the fresh air and sunshine, and it’s even better when I can share that time with dogs who enjoy walks, playtime, and exploring. While I do have a large, fenced in back yard, if needed, I provide loving care for pets in their own homes so that they can stay relaxed in the environment they know and love.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
