“Autumn was a professional and extremely great with our dogs. She stayed at our home for four days with our two small pets. We got constant communication and picture updates. It was a great feeling to know things were under control at home when we were on our vacation. We highly recommend Autumn. :)”

“Sophie did a great job with my blind and toothless girl, Annie. She gave updates and pics throughout the day. She also spent quality time with Annie who gets separation anxiety when left alone. I’ve already booked Sophie for another sitting job!! Thank you Sophie!!”

“Brie was awesome! She stayed at our house for four nights and took such great care of our two dogs and two cats. The dogs got lots of walks, the cats got plenty of love, and she kept us in the loop with tons of photo updates. We came home to happy pets and a clean house—what more could you ask for?”

About: I have grown up surrounded by my loving animals. Dogs, cats, turtles, hamsters just to name a few. I have worked in the past at a veterinary clinic as an assistant & I loved it. I have large dogs and a tiny Chihuahua so I understand the difference between the needs of various dogs. I have 4 cats and I absolutely adore them. Cats bring me so much joy! I am currently available anytime for your pet care needs! I am an early riser for anyone that needs early morning care. I can clean up after your pet, walk your dog, play fetch any & all needs to make your pet happy. Studies show even a 30 min walk helps prevent excessive boredom for your dog. I am able to provide long walks & play time for your pets. I can change & disinfect litter boxes. Play with your cats & love on them as much as they will allow!
“Mia is very genuine and an incredible pet sitter. Our Millie is not trusting of strangers. Mia was patient and quickly gained our dog's trust. We were on international travel for 12 days. She shared daily a ton of pictures of Millie, which we appreciated since we were so far away. Mia was very communicative and attentive to both us and our dog. Back home, we noticed that our dog was happy and that her routine was closely kept. I cannot recommend her enough.”

“Ashleigh treated our dog very well and we loved all the videos and pictures she sent! It helped ease our minds to know she was taking good care of our pet. She was very responsive to any messages and left our house clean and tidy.”

“Used Thomas again for house/dog sitting for an entire week and felt incredibly comfortable with the care he was giving our pups and our house. So, so nice to have him stay there and give us updates and the dogs extra cuddles and treats.”

“Thoughtful updates and photos! Always clear about what was going on back home. Friendly, and the kitties seemed to love her. So happy we had Kaylyn in our corner to take care of the fur babies! Highly recommend!”

“Taylor was great! We had her stay at our apartment for 4 nights with our two dogs. She left the place clean, sent lots of photos, and even scooped snow off our patio. We highly recommend and will be using her again.”

“Mira took great care of Moose while we were away! She had great communication about arrival and departure. She kept our house clean. She sent pictures of Moose’s activities throughout the day and Moose was very happy when we arrived home.”

About: I am a 26 year old living with autism spectrum disorder. I always loved animals since I saw them for the first time when I was a toddler. Animals and I just clicked, and I love getting to know more and more about animals. I would help out from time to time growing up, helping take care of animals. I also love music, and I play the cello. I'm a fur-mom of a domestic shorthair cat named Leo, an Australian Shepherd named Zola, and our newest addition to our family: another Australian Shepherd named Teddy Graham. From February 2021 to July of 2021, I worked at Camp Bow Wow, and since August/September of 2021, I’ve been working at Cedar Run Company for 5 yrs now. Over the years, I’ve also learned how to give other dogs baths, besides my own, and I’ve also cared for injured/senior pets (ie: administering meds, gentle leash-walking w/ a belly-band thing to go potty, etc.) I am mostly available any day. I work on Mondays (9-5), Fridays (10-6), and Saturdays (10-6). I can try to be flexible with any changes to my weekly schedules. Unfortunately, I can only have my dogs, Zola and Teddy Graham, over at my house, plus I’m afraid Zola might be jealous. Teddy’s been so far, so good with other dogs. So yea, boarding & daycare at my house isn’t really an option. I will give your pets all the loves and the tender loving care when you’re on vacay.
“Aurora took great care of my puppy during her overnight stay! She was very quick at getting back to us and we were confident she was in good hands. I would definitely recommend Aurora to anyone needing animal care! ?”

“Char took excellent care of my brood. She picked up on their unique personalities and clearly loves all types of animals. She even made friends with my cockatiel. Would definitely recommend and use her services again.”
“Lehia took on a lot with our old dog, medicine 3x/day, old did antics and set in his ways. She communicated extremely well and we felt diesel was in safe and secure hands. Highly recommend her”

“Emma was absolutely amazing to have watch my dog! She sent photo updates and I could tell my dog was very well taken care of! Highly recommend her to take great care of your pet!”

“Kayla went above and beyond for our boy! She is super reliable and took such amazing care of Jax! Just to add how amazing she is, our garage code wasn’t working and she stayed over an hour locked out trying to figure out a solution to make sure she got to Jax while we were out of town!! A+ from us!”

“Hailey was so great! She was communicative, sent pictures of the pups, and left our house cleaner than when she arrived. She really went the extra mile and took such great care of our home and our dogs while we were gone. Highly recommend using her as a sitter!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Covington
Landon did a remarkable job. He stayed at our house taking care of our 2 golden retrievers while we enjoyed a 10 day holiday. We did a one night trial run a few weeks before our long trip to make sure everything would go well and it did. The dogs were well taken care of and the house was great when we returned. He was a great guest who washed his sheets and vacuumed the floors! We will definitely be using Landon for our future travel time.

Samuel was very methodical and organized. My older dog needed medications to be administered precisely and he did an amazing job with that. Both our dogs were well feb, got out a lot and had the best time. We were able to enjoy because samuel looked after our fur babies so well. Highly recommend him. Thanks

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Covington walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Covington maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Covington choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Covington. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
