Would 100% recommend Candice. She spent a lot of time with our dog Maui and gave him lots of love and attention. House was in perfect condition when we returned. Its always a little nerve-racking leaving your home and pet in the hands of a stranger, but Candice is very friendly and kind and immediately calmed our nerves. Very responsive to messages and I would not hesitate to recommend her and hope to have her watch our little buddy again.

About: My senior dog is constantly active which is surprising so I try and keep him as busy as possible. Some of the other older dogs I take my time with while taking them on walks. If they walk extremely slow. Other dogs tend to sniff everything which I have patience for. When a dog brings me a toy it’s an indicator for me to play with them. I work Monday through Friday so weekends are best. I take care of my own dog throughout the week with my significant other watching him on the weekends when I’m not home. I walk my dog multiple times a day knowing it’s a good way to keep him active. In my own home I watch my dog when he eats. He has 2 teeth when we adopted him so when he eats his food, I watch him very carefully. Anytime I’m not home I put on a YouTube video for dogs so he has some sound. When it comes to other animals I’ve watched, if it’s a full day I would prefer not to leave them alone. Taking them out multiple times a day and of course plenty of love!

Communication was great from start to finish (even if we did end up leaving later than planned) we received updates and felt completely at ease while we were away. We will definitely be booking with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for reliable and caring pet care! 🐾

We haf a meet and greet with Cairin on the Friday before our 1st sitting, and she was an instant hit with Bandit and the family. So she sit Bandit at our home for 6 hours abs in that time she took him on 2 walks in our 55+ mobile estate park. She sent us photos and a short video of the walks and once back home. Bandit had a great time. Cairin was very responsible, attentive to his needs, kept him safe and had fun with him. We can't recommend her highly enough and whole-heartily recommend her. We will be staying in touch with her for sure.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 7 years old. Friends, family’s, and neighbors all trust me with their pup. Everything I do is with extra love. Wether that be putting ice in the water bowls, a couple extra minutes of cuddling, and sometimes maybe giving them one too many treats! My passion for animals, specially dogs is something I’ve always had and it grows stronger and stronger every day. Dogs are a girls bestfriend, not diamonds. ❤️ Pet care fits into my daily and weekly routine because currently I work from home, and have a lot of free time. I’m able to work around pretty much any schedule, I will just need to know a couple days in advance. Dogs are allowed on my bed, so they won’t ever be left alone or unsupervised. I’ll make sure to walk them however many times you need me to per day.

Rebecca is AMAZING! This was our first time using Rover/having a housesitter and it exceeded all of our expectations. Our Newfoundland has some anxiety around new people but Rebecca was kind enough to come before the stay and meet her and stayed at our house for almost an hour letting her get comfortable with her presence and snuggling our cats while we told her about our fur-babies preferences and personalities. I could tell our Newfoundland, Gaia, felt comfortable when she went and laid at her feet for the last half of her visit. I felt incredibly confident leaving for vacation after that and Gaia was excited to see her on the morning we left. Rebecca checked in every day during the week she stayed at our house and sent pictures and updates of how calm and happy our three pets were throughout her stay. It made me feel reassured and I was really able to enjoy our vacation knowing our pets were just as happy as we were! My husband and I kept saying to each other how much nicer this was than boarding the animals (the last time we went away we had Gaia boarded at a vet and she had panicked herself into a seizure and I spent my vacation feeling awful about it all). We will absolutely be calling Rebecca for every vacation from now on as long as she is available!! She is an absolute gem and we returned to a pristine and perfect home with happy pets that were well cared for. I couldn’t be more grateful or happy with the way it all worked out!

About: I've always loved dogs and have been caring for them my whole life—from daily walks to full pet sitting for neighbors, friends, and family. I'm comfortable with all breeds and sizes, and I understand that every dog has unique needs. Whether it's medication schedules, behavioral quirks, or just their favorite walking route, I pay attention to the details that matter to you and your pet. I'm also currently training to become a professional groomer, so your dog is in experienced hands. I work for myself, which gives me great flexibility for pet care throughout the week. I'm available most mornings and afternoons for walks and visits, with weekend availability as well. I'm happy to work around your schedule to make sure your pet gets consistent, reliable care. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I follow your specific instructions carefully—whether that's feeding schedules, medication, exercise routines, or house rules. I keep you updated with photos and messages so you have peace of mind while you're away. We live on 6 private acres, so there's plenty of safe space for dogs to explore & no pets of our own if that's a concern (lost our German Shepherd last year and haven't been ready to get another yet). For walks, I use secure leashes/harnesses, stay aware of the environment, and adjust routes based on your dog's energy level and behavior.

We cannot thank Blane enough for taking such incredible care of our Yuki, while my husband and I were traveling internationally. It is always a bit stressful being so far away, but Blane gave us total peace of mind with daily up dates, videos and photos. It was clear that Yuki was super happy, well-fed, and getting plenty of attention. Blane taught him few tricks which is amazing!!!! Blane is reliable, communicative, and truly loves animals. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter! Dear Blane, Thank you so much for looking after Yuki while we were away! Having someone so kind and responsible allowed us to truly enjoy our trip without worrying about things back home. Yuki seemed so relaxed when we returned, and we really appreciated all the photos and videos you sent while we were abroad. We’ve enclosed a small token of our appreciation—thank you for treating Yuki like family!

About: I absolutely love dogs ! They truly are man’s best friend till the end. I have two dogs of my own , whom I love very much ! I have experience in dog sitting as well as dog walking and I am passionate about providing good care and excited to meet new pups! I fit pet care into my day/week routine because I have two dogs of my own. One is a pit bull and another is a boarder collie so to say they need care is an understatement. They have the upmost energy. I will play with them and wear them out so they get a good nights sleep. With that being said we walk, hike, run, go to the beach, play fetch , etc. as much as we can. I treat my puppies very kindly , if not they’re quite spoiled. 😉 I care very deeply about animals and I aim to help when I can !

About: Hi! I’ve had dogs in my life since the day I was born, and caring for animals has always come naturally to me. My current dog, JD, has only deepened my love and understanding of how important patience, trust, and routine are for pets. In addition to being a lifelong dog owner, I also have a professional caregiving background, which has strengthened my reliability, attentiveness, and ability to stay calm in stressful situations. I’m comfortable following routines, giving medications when needed, and providing compassionate care to both people and animals. Whether your pet needs playtime, walks, overnight care, quiet companionship, or extra reassurance while you’re away, I’ll care for them like family. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because caring for others has always been a big part of my life. Between raising and caring for animals throughout my life and my professional caregiving background, I’m very used to building my schedule around routines, consistency, attentiveness, and reliability. I enjoy incorporating walks, feeding routines, playtime, check-ins, and companionship into my day, and I’m comfortable adapting to different pets’ needs and energy levels. Since I value calm environments and structured care, I make it a priority to ensure pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away. I care for pets by following their normal routines as closely as possible so they feel safe, comfortable, and less stressed while their owners are away. I pay close attention to feeding schedules, potty breaks, exercise needs, medications, and each pet’s personality and comfort level. In a client’s home, I make sure pets receive plenty of attention, playtime, walks, affection, and calm companionship while also respecting the client’s space and instructions. I’m especially patient with shy, anxious, senior, or routine-oriented pets and understand the importance of consistency and gentle care. I have a caregiving background, so I’m very attentive, dependable, and comfortable monitoring behavior changes, following detailed care instructions, and providing extra reassurance when needed. My goal is always to help pets feel secure, cared for, and loved while their owners have peace of mind.

FAQs for House Sitting - Coos Bay

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Coos Bay on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of June 2026, there are 33 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Coos Bay. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Coos Bay walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Coos Bay maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Coos Bay choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
