Gabby was wonderful! I appreciate her accepting my last minute request and coming by for a meet and greet prior to her first walk. She was really good with my Marley and was great with my care instructions. I'm extremely satisfied with her service!

About: Hi, I’m Marie! Caring for dachshunds has been a central part of my life for many years. My sweet long-haired miniature dachshund, Luna, joined me as a puppy and was my constant companion for 12 wonderful years. She truly lived her best life—going everywhere with me, acting as my shadow, and showing me just how deep and meaningful the bond between people and dogs can be. I lost her three years ago, but my love for dachshunds has never faded. I still have plenty of dachshund love to give! Alongside Luna, I also shared my life with Mohawk, my Dutch Shepherd (and Luna's "big brother"), whom I cared for into his senior years at over 15 years old. Through both of them, I gained experience caring for small and large breeds, puppies, seniors, and dogs with a wide range of personalities and activity levels. I currently don't have pets of my own, which allows me to give your pets my full attention, care, and affection while they're with me. What I offer: *In-home pet care and house sitting. *Dachshund-savvy handling and care. *Experience with miniature dachshunds, puppies, and senior dogs. *Walks tailored to your pet's needs—from neighborhood strolls to local beach trails. If your dog enjoys adventure, I'd be happy to bring them along on a hike with your permission. *References available through Rover as well as personal references from coworkers and other clients whose pets I've cared for. I treat every animal as if they were my own—with patience, attentiveness, and genuine affection. Whether your companion enjoys long walks, quiet companionship, playtime, or simply having a calm, consistent presence, I'll care for them the way they're most comfortable. I'd love the opportunity to care for your dachshund, dog, or cat and give you complete peace of mind while you're away. I am in my off season so pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I plan my schedule around feeding times, walks, play, medication needs, and check-ins, ensuring consistent, reliable care and plenty of attention. I prioritize safety, trust, and routine by carefully following owner instructions, maintaining clean environments, securing doors and gates, monitoring behavior, and providing calm, attentive care in your home. However, if I get to know you, there is a chance for me to board in my home.

About: I volunteered at an animal shelter for over 5 years. I really enjoyed it. I would love to take care of your pets. I have had several pets throughout my life. Watched my sisters' dogs multiple times. And I currently have a cat. 2 years old. I've had her since she was 3 months old. Taking care of, and helping, animals brings me great joy. It always has. I am responsible, reliable, honest, and trustworthy. I am also caring, kind, and generous. I am willing to walk, bathe, brush, and play with your animal. Feeding, watering, and petting, as needed. I have a valid driver's license, and transportation. Please, let me help you, and your pet. In any way that I can. Thank you. Sincerely, Katy A. I currently work part time, so I will have plenty of time to play with/take care of your furry family member. Also, I don't work weekends. I will arrive on time, where and when you ask me to. I will keep your furry busy/occupied. Follow your instructions, care needs, and requests.

About: I absolutely love dogs ! They truly are man’s best friend till the end. I have two dogs of my own , whom I love very much ! I have experience in dog sitting as well as dog walking and I am passionate about providing good care and excited to meet new pups! I fit pet care into my day/week routine because I have two dogs of my own. One is a pit bull and another is a boarder collie so to say they need care is an understatement. They have the upmost energy. I will play with them and wear them out so they get a good nights sleep. With that being said we walk, hike, run, go to the beach, play fetch , etc. as much as we can. I treat my puppies very kindly , if not they’re quite spoiled. 😉 I care very deeply about animals and I aim to help when I can !

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
