“Kelsey is the BEST! She is always positive and caring in her messages. I especially love how she sent fun photos and videos! Gimli and Teddy can't wait to see her again!”

“Lexi was absolutely amazing and went above and beyond. Our dog had an expected health issue before we left and Lexi kept us up to date every day on how she was doing, calibrated to a different diet and some meds needed for the week, and even coordinated with me and the vet regarding a complication that came up from her health issue while we were gone. She clearly has a good pulse on animals and even our vet commented on how on top of things she was. Let this serve as a glowing review, highly highly recommended house/dog/cat sitter, and I hope we have the opportunity to book with her again in the future.”

“We are SO glad we found Tyler… couldn’t be happier! He stayed with our sometimes over reactive dog for a week and it went well . Tyler is very attentive and kind. Sent updates and could easily be reached. Kept house clean and neat. Was great before our trip coming over to let our dog get used to him. So appreciated… will definitely use him again! Feel like we can go away and our dog is in caring hands. Thanks Tyler!!”

“Zania is a treasure. For anyone looking for a responsible, respectful and caring dogwalker for the Lancaster County area, Zania is wonderful. I have a young active terrier and a very Senior, deaf and partialy blind terrier. She was very careful with both. Followed my care instructions and asked appropriate questions to determine how to best meet their needs. She fed them, gave potty breaks and gave my Senior dog her medications with no issues. The dogs loved her.”

“Austin was awesome! He took great care of our two Welsh Terrorists (terriers) at our residence while we were in Mexico for a week. He really loves dogs and is very mild mannered. One of the terriers is named Austin so perhaps there was some symbiotic thing going on but Peaches was just as enamored with him.”

“Emily was respectful of our house and left it exactly how it was found. It was so nice knowing the dogs were in good hands and well taken care of. Hopefully Emily is available every time we need a dog sitter b/c I’d welcome her back each and every time! Thank you, Emily, for taking care of Tyson and Lilly while we enjoyed our last camping trip of the season.”

“Hilary is exactly what we were looking for. She takes good care of Bailey and communicates often. Our home is always how we left it and she is pleasant, kind and respectful. 5 star all the way!”

“We loved having Sarah care for Clyde. We came home from an extended trip to a happy and well cared for pup! 🐶 💕 We look forward to having her back to help in the future.”

“We highly recommend Phillip and cannot fully express how grateful we are for his excellent care of our pup Bennie. Phillip was truly one of the best sitters we’ve ever had ! We booked for house sitting just a couple weeks ago when we planned to bring both our disabled senior dog Max and Bennie . At the time we asked for help with taking special care of Max, repositioning and taking him out every couple hours during our time at Church Retreat. Sadly Max passed before our trip, Phillip was kind enough to still be willing to hang out with Bennie as we were staying at an Airbnb that normally doesn’t allow pets and had given us permission since we have a sitter and a crate for him. Philip was so thoughtful and kind to our Bennie making sure he felt secure and loved. He kept us informed on how Bennie was doing throughout the 2 days and was even willing to drive 30 min to the church we attended, so that he could hang out with Bennie in a shady spot for a couple hours ! We look forward to booking Phillip the next time we come to PA👏🐶”

“Hannah is great to work with. She takes very good care of my dog Spuds, and my home, while I am away. I've booked with her twice already, with a third stay booked for next week. Highly recommended sitter!”

“Brooke was wonderful with our dog, Sage. She took great care of him and of our home, and was very communicative so we knew everything was going well the whole time we were away.”

“Kay was wonderful and took great care of my house and my pup, even going above and beyond his usual activity requirements. She is very reliable and communicated with me very well about any going ons.”

About: I have been taking care of my family's dogs since I was young. It turns out we're mostly cat people now and I love playtime with cats too! I'm currently working full time and going to school but I would love to visit your dogs, cats or pets on the weekends and holidays. I know having your people leave home for awhile can be a stressful experience for pets. I think having time to play and run around is also an underestimated and important part of pet sitting beyond the basic and feeding and bathroom breaks.
“Where to begin. Colleen is quite literally the cutest and sweetest person we have ever had the privilege of meeting. We are first time parents to our newly adopted tortie kitten Bootsie. She’s four and half months old and is quite the handful, she’s also very attached to mom and dad. So it goes without saying we were a little nervous about leaving her side. Colleen came in and just blew us away with how patient and courteous she was to our fur baby from the start. We knew instantly we had found the perfect person to watch over her. She truly has a passion for what she does and eased any concerns we had. She was on time and gave us much needed updates throughout her stay. They bonded so well together we were shocked! If you’re lucky enough to have her look after your fur baby consider it a blessing. Colleen you are so special and you’ll be in our memories forever thank you so so much!!!”

“This was our first time using Anna as a sitter. She came one week ahead to meet our pup briefly to ensure it was a good fit. She sat for about 5 hours. Took him to the park for a big play sesh - so much that he napped the rest of the evening. Will use again.”

“Melissa did a wonderful job spending a week with my beagle Jake. I received regular updates and pictures to add to my comfort of his well being. I would highly recommend Melissa to care for your pet as well. Thank you!”

Madison did not have to stay for the full weekend as we had a Medical Emergency and had to stay home, so we sent her home. While she was here, they were very happy. Jackson and Leigh loved her. She sent a picture when she got here while we were at the hospital. I would hire her again.

I would give Philip a 10 out of 5 if I could! He did a fantastic job with our 2 pups. Communication was great and he even went above and beyond to make a purchase for one of our pups because it would make her more comfortable, even bought them treats and left them here. You can tell Philip genuinely cares for animals, his nature with is very natural - not forced. He is also a very friendly person and super easy to talk to. It was sooo nice to come home to our pups and they were calm and very happy!! I would recommend him over and over! Lisa R

Chris is absolutely the best! I never have to worry when he is taking care of my dog and my home. He is reliable, trustworthy, caring, and truly goes above and beyond. My dog loves him, and I have complete peace of mind knowing he’s in good hands. I couldn’t recommend him more highly!
Emily is a fantastic sitter. She took great care of our dog while we were away. And he can be a hand full. The house was left perfectly and she brought our mail in for us when I forgot to put it on hold. Very much appreciate her professionalism. ! Beni loves her too which is a huge plus ! He hopes she will come back again soon to stay with him. ! Thanks again Emily!

Katie was absolutely wonderful! From the very beginning, she was warm, personable, communicative, and incredibly kind. She took the time to set up a meet and greet, came prepared, and was so patient in letting Shep warm up to her at his own pace. It was immediately clear how much she genuinely loves and understands dogs. She kept me updated throughout her stay, was flexible, thoughtful, and gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. I trusted her completely, even though we had just met, which says a lot. I couldn’t recommend Katie more highly and will absolutely be booking with her again!

Zania is a treasure. The dogs loved her.

Lexie was such an amazing sitter! She took care of my pup for a week while I was out of the country. She was very communicative and took great care of my Remi. She sent me daily updates (often times 2x) and made sure that my high-energy guy was active (and tired) and well cared for. She also helped me out at the last minute, picking up a package for me. I felt so at ease having Lexie as our dog sitter and will absolutely use her again in the future.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Conestoga Woods walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Conestoga Woods maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Conestoga Woods choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
