“Wendy was amazing with our dog Bear and was extremely generous for watching him overnight in our house for 2 nights. She shared daily updates of Bear enjoying himself! She was even kind enough to block off an area of our backyard where Bear had tried to escape. We also really appreciated that she offered to come back and check on Bear if our travel home was going to be delayed. We would definitely recommend Wendy!”

“Tanya was great. Very responsive. She kept us up to date with pictures. The house was exactly as we left and the pets seemed happy. We would definitely like to book Tanya again.”
“Allie house sat for us. She watched our dog and kitten and did a great job! She kept the house tidy and followed all instructions. Will definitely use her again in the future! Thanks for loving our fur babies like your own!:)”

“First time meeting Aaliyah and right away felt comfortable leaving my pets with her. Got regular updates and she followed every one of my instructions. Thank you!!”

About: I grew up with dogs and other animals. I enjoy spending time with and watching any animal. I have experience dog/house sitting for family and clients. I work a full time job in Kerrville and live in Center Point. Mon -Fri, i am available to come over after work at 5:00 and stay until i go to work the next morning, at 8:00. On weekends, i am able to stay full time. Depending on distance, i can possibly do potty breaks during my lunch. I take dogs out for frequent breaks and exercise. I enjoy dog walks as well. I will not watch dogs that are expected to be left outside for long periods of time or tied up.
“Housesitting: Haley provided exceptional care to our 5 year old female Australian Koolie for 6 nights and 7 days while we were out of state for our daughter's wedding. We came back to a very happy well cared for pup. It was evident that Haley worked diligently to ensure that there was adherence to Piper's daily schedule. We felt very reassured as she provided optimal communication as well. On top of everything else she also left the mother in laws suite very clean. We appreciate her time very much and hope to call on her in the future. Thank you Haley!”

About: Ever since I was a little girl I have always been around cats or dogs. I even have 4 cats and 2 dogs of my own. Each one of them have their different personalities so I know how it’s like to treat each animal with the care they like. My dream in the future is to have my own pet resort at my own house but first I want and need to experience how each animal work’s differently so I can give them the best care they deserve I am currently available on Mondays Wednesday's Fridays and Saturdays. I would love to book anyone 7 days or plus prior before the date they want. I respect people and their animals. I would care for your animals as if they were my own. My care for your loved ones would be me making sure he/she has enough water and food, go the the bathroom regularly, and practice good habits.
About: I grew up with 3 big dogs who were truly my best friends <3 I loved to take care of them including walking, feeding, and bathing them. I now have a cat and dog of my own who are everything to me. I am currently in between jobs and will have all the time to dedicate to your animals. I have limited availability Sunday-Thursday before 12pm but can work about that if need be. I will fully respect your wishes for your pets as long as it is respectful to your pets. About: Hi! My name is Kelley, and I’ve been caring for animals since I was 11 years old. Over the years I’ve cared for dogs, cats, and even horses, and spending time with animals has always been something I genuinely enjoy. Whether your pet is energetic and playful or more shy and reserved, I strive to make them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I’m dependable, communicative, and respectful of both your pets and your home. I know how important routines can be for animals, so I’m happy to follow any specific instructions regarding feeding, medications, walks, crating, bedtime routines, or anything else that helps your pet feel at ease. I also spent time working at a veterinary office, which gave me additional experience and knowledge in animal care and behavior. While I’m not a vet tech, that experience helped me become more attentive to pets’ needs and more comfortable handling a variety of situations. I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your pets, and I’ll always treat them with patience, kindness, and love as if they were my own. I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your pets! I currently work part-time while earning hours toward my therapy license, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to be attentive to your pets’ needs throughout the day. Because of this flexibility, I’m able to check in consistently, maintain your pet’s normal routines, and provide dependable care whether that includes walks, feedings, playtime, medications, or simply keeping them company. I understand how important consistency is for pets, and I do my best to make sure they feel comfortable and cared for while you’re away. I care for pets with patience, attentiveness, and respect for the routines they’re already familiar with. In a client’s home, I do my best to maintain your pet’s normal schedule as closely as possible, including feeding times, walks, playtime, medications, crating routines, and any other specific care instructions. I know being away from their owners can be stressful for some pets, so I strive to create a calm, comforting environment and give them plenty of attention and affection. I’m also very respectful of clients’ homes and always aim to leave things clean, organized, and exactly as I found them. Communication is important to me, so I’m happy to provide updates and photos so you can feel reassured while you’re away.

“Monica has been such an amazing sitter for puddy. She sent frequent updates, gave him lots it love and attention and just made me feel totally stress free knowing that she was there to take care of puddy. I can’t recommend her enough.”

About: I have taken care of my own and others pets for 50+ years. I have 3 indoor dogs of my own and have become the official ball thrower to the smallest of my pets because she loves to play fetch. I also care for the Hummingbirds yearly that visit my yard from March till September. I have a full time job but can feed, walk and care for your pets needs after 5 on weekdays and all weekend beginning at 5 on Friday evening. I will care for your pets with as much love as I do my own. Pets are our family and need to be treated and loved as we would our own. I will honor all likes, food choices and instructions given regarding the animals in your home.
“Danni was professional and i felt comfortable having her in my home. She cared for my puppy the way i asked and with attention to detail. Danni has great communication and left my house clean! Will definitely ask for her assistance in the future!”

About: I have experience as a kennel technician and administering pet prescribed medications. I have cared for dogs, cats, fish, reptiles and birds of different breeds and ages. Family and friends have relied on me to babysit and feed their pets well as cleaning litter boxes or any pet in house potty accidents. I am a student at Schreiner University for pre-med but I am available Mondays and Thursdays from 3-8pm for drop in visits and or walks. I am very patient with all breed personality types and give plenty of attention and comfort to active and shy pets. I make sure fresh food and water is replenished with cleaned pet bowls to prevent traces of pet drool and germ build up. For drop in visits or walks, I value potty time and play time to ensure pets get their full amount of exercise and fresh air. For walks I take notice of different pet behaviors and will be cautious of other dogs walking by. I am extra patient with pets who are fearful of weather storms or loud noises such as fireworks.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Comfort walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Comfort maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Comfort choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Comfort. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
