This is the second time we have asked Allison to help with our dog and as before she did a great job. Dependable and trustworthy. We don’t have to worry about our dogs when we are gone with her. Highly recommend.

Colleen and her husband, Nick did drop in visits with my dog for me while I was gone for a week and did an excellent job. I had not one worry while I was gone. They both came over for the meet and greet ahead of time. Communication was always super prompt and thorough with detailed notes recorded for each session. All my (kind of quirky) instructions for my dog and my home were followed perfectly and everything was in perfect order when I got home. Plus, Colleen also sent lovely well-composed photos from every session, which was a real treat. It’s clear she has a real connection with dogs to get them to pose so well for photos. I highly recommend Colleen and Nick. They are top-notch.

About: Growing up surrounded by animals, I was destined to pursue a career as a veterinary technician. Twenty years later, I've built a rich and varied experience, dividing my time between day and emergency practices. The day practices have given me a solid foundation in routine medical procedures, from drawing blood to conducting routine check-ups. In contrast, the emergency practices have taught me to think on my feet, remaining calm and focused in the face of urgency and uncertainty. Throughout my career, I've developed a special affinity for post-operative care, taking pride in helping animals recover from surgery and return to full health. I've also learned to recognize and address anxiety in animals, using a gentle and compassionate approach to alleviate their stress. Meanwhile, I've honed my technical skills, mastering the art of medication administration and injections with precision and care. Pursuing a PhD degree offers me the privilege of a highly flexible schedule. Unlike a traditional 9-to-5 job, my daily routine is not bound by specific hours. I can choose to work at times that suit me (and your fur babies) best. With a sprawling, fenced-in yard as their playground, my two energetic dogs are never short on adventure. As a fellow dog lover, I'm excited to offer pet care services that cater to your pet's individual needs. Whether you'd prefer me to care for your pet at my home, surrounded by my friendly dogs, or in the comfort of their own home, I'm happy to oblige. From crate-trained companions to free-spirited friends, I've got the experience and patience to make your pet feel at ease. My dogs, with their boundless energy and affectionate nature, are the perfect playmates for your furry friend. About: I’ve grown up in a family that always opened our home to animals- dogs, cats, and even the occasional bird. Whether we were helping friends, fostering, or adopting them into our family, caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life. Once I started petsitting on my own, I realized just how special getting to know every pet’s distinct personality is. My goal is always to keep their routines steady and familiar while you’re away, so your pets feel safe, loved, and completely at ease. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly rhythm. I work remotely with a flexible schedule, which makes it easy for me to plan my day around a pet’s needs- whether that’s morning walks, midday check- ins, playtime, or sticking to a specific feeding routine. Caring for animals isn’t something I’m squeezing in; it’s something I look forward to and can easily prioritize. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, my goal is to make their world feel as steady and familiar as possible. I follow your established routine closely- regular potty breaks, mealtimes on schedule, daily walks, play sessions, cuddle time, or whatever your pet is used to. I pay attention to their moods and preferences so I can meet them where they’re comfortable, whether they’re energetic and playful or more shy and slow to warm up. I’m patient and gentle with new personalities, and I do my best to keep stress low by maintaining the rhythm they already know. I give plenty of attention and affection, and I make sure their physical needs, emotional needs, and little quirks are cared for with the same consistency you provide at home. I also keep your space tidy and respected while I’m there- clean food and water bowls, locked doors, lights the way you left them, and any small home routines you request. Most importantly, I’m committed to your pet’s safety and comfort. I’ll keep a close eye on how they’re doing, communicate with you throughout your trip, and make sure they’re cared for, loved, and fully supported until you’re home again.

About: I’ve been caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities since I was 10 years old. I also have my childhood dog, a 16-year-old Shih Tzu/Poodle mix, so I understand the patience, consistency, and attention dogs need through every stage of life, especially senior dogs. Friends, neighbors, and family have trusted me to walk, feed, play with, and care for their pets while they’re away. As an athlete, I’m very active, responsible, and dependable, so energetic dogs are never a problem for me. I genuinely love animals and always want pets to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while with me. I currently have a very flexible schedule and plenty of availability throughout the week for walks, drop-ins, and pet sitting. Since I’m home from college for the summer, I’m able to give pets lots of attention, playtime, walks, and consistent care during the day. I’m active, reliable, and easy to communicate with, and I’ll always make sure your pet’s routine is followed closely. I always want pets to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. I pay close attention to routines, feeding schedules, exercise needs, and any special instructions provided. I grew up caring for my 16-year-old Shih Tzu/Poodle mix, so I understand the importance of patience and gentle care, especially with older dogs. Whether in my home or a client’s home, I keep a clean, calm, and pet-friendly environment and make sure pets get plenty of attention, affection, and supervision.

About: I don’t just pet‑sit — I love on your animals like they’re part of my own little pack. From belly rubs to long walks and cozy snuggles, your fur babies get all the care, attention, and heart they deserve. Kittens/Puppies/Elder/Special Needs Animals Morning: I start the day with your cat — breakfast, fresh water, gentle snuggles, and a little playtime to ease into the day. I check in on their mood, energy level, and any special needs so the rest of the day stays centered around them. Midday: I’m home for the most of the day, keeping your cat company, offering enrichment, supervising any outdoor time they enjoy, and maintaining their routine. If your cat is comfortable and settled, I may step out for essential errands, always making sure their needs are fully met before I leave and right when I return. Afternoon: More focused attention — play sessions, quiet companionship, grooming if they enjoy it, or simply being nearby so they feel safe and supported. Their comfort guides the pace of the day. Evening: Dinner, cozy wind‑down time, and extra affection. I stay home to ensure they feel secure, relaxed, and cared for as they settle in for the night. A day in my care is all about your cat — snuggles when they want closeness, playful moments to spark joy, supervised outdoor time for safe exploring, gentle walks or calming car rides if they enjoy them, and a routine built entirely around their needs. Whether they’re nursing, growing, aging, or require special attention, I make sure every moment feels comforting, enriching, and full of love.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in China Spring. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
