Darcy Why I love dog sitting I have loved cats and dogs since I can remember! I grew up with them. My parents had a Great Dance prior to my birth, and my brother had a dog when I was a toddler. I grew up with a Bouvier, a large black sheep herding dog and many cats. She even had puppies who I helped care for until they were adopted. I was gifted a very sweet dog that was my own and helped me learn responsibility in 7th grade. My parents currently live in New Mexico and have a lovely Portuguese Water Dog, who I love dearly. Every time I see a dog on the street being walked, I want to hug it and play with it! I have always loved and had a deep appreciation for animals and their roles in humans lives. :) Dogs and cats are truly wonderful creatures! It is also important to note that I have never been afraid of large or barking dogs unless they are particularly vicious (which are far and few between). Eventually I would love to own a dog, but cannot right now, and love to love and care for other people's pets. I have administered oral medication to dogs and cats. About: I am looking forward to hosting dogs in my house. I have a 4 year old dog I recently adopted. He enjoys having other dogs come to visit! I'm a teacher so I am home weeknights and weekends to care for and play with your dogs. Your dog can sleep in my room or can be crated if that is preferred. I am also excited to explore my new neighborhood with dog walks in the evenings. I have recently moved to a new home that has a small front yard. There are trails nearby that I can use for dog walks.

About: I’ve loved and cared for animals for most of my life. I got my first dog around age 11 and have had multiple dogs over the years, along with a ferret, hamster, and fish. I’ve also helped care for family members’ dogs and cats whenever they needed someone they could trust. I’m comfortable with feeding, walking, playtime, cleaning up after pets, and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I’m patient, attentive, and understand that every pet has their own personality and routine. Animals have always been a big part of my life and continue to be. I would always talk with the pet parent beforehand about their normal routine, what they’re allowed or not allowed to do, feeding instructions, walks, and any other specific needs. I’m big on following the owner’s instructions, keeping their pet safe and comfortable, and being respectful of their home and belongings.

About: I've been taking care of neighbor's cats and dogs since childhood, including overnight house sitting. I've had cats for most my life and have worked with big and small dogs, young and old, including dogs that need a lot of exercise. I have experience taking care of other domestic mammals like rabbits, chinchillas, rats, mice, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, and hedgehogs, as well as exotic birds and reptiles. I'm a big animal over; I majored and worked in wildlife conservation, and am passionate about domestic and wild animals. I work freelance, so my schedule is pretty flexible and I am able to stay home a lot and be with the pets. I have a car to get to people's homes easily for daytime checkins/walks. Depends on the client's specific needs but usually for housesitting I stay at the house and am home often, so I'm able to give the pets attention and care, and let them out for bathroom breaks and walks regularly as needed. I can do basic household stuff like take out trash, clean up after pets, water plants, whatever is needed.
