About: About Me I’ve spent the last decade in rescue/foster and dog boarding, so I’ve worked with all kinds of pups. I don't just "watch" dogs; I swap four walls for the great outdoors. 🌲 Whether your pup is a seasoned hiker, a senior who prefers a slow sniff-and-stroll, or has medical needs that require a watchful eye, I’ve got you covered. My Ideal Match 💖 I’m looking for a pup who isn’t afraid to get their paws a little dirty. My days are spent hiking and hanging in the woods, focusing on fresh air and natural enrichment. What I Bring to the Relationship: 9+ years of rescue and professional handling Experience in medical care (medication administration, senior support). A "paws-on" approach to outdoor adventure. Swipe right on the ultimate forest adventure—I can’t wait to meet your best friend! The Daily Routine 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM: Pick-ups Morning: hiking (rain or shine, unless it’s a total washout). Midday: Rest, Afternoon: Backyard playgroups and shorter sniff-walks. 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM: Drop-offs I arrange a meet and greet with the pet and owner to understand the pet's routine, preferences, and any special needs. I am Pet CPR and Safety certifiied and make your pet's safety and security a top priority.

About: **Notice** Right now I'm only able to service Bryson City and parts of whittier. No bad driveways due to vehicles I have experience with animals of all kinds. I love them all. I previously worked at an animal shelter for 6 yrs. My dogs have all been trained. I absolutely love spending time with animals. Their care and well being comes first. I have worked with obedience trainers in the past and usually when im on a walk with a dog im not just walking them im usually incorporating obedience work with the walk. Positive reinforcement is how i train. I try to make my time with the animals fun and exciting. I dont want the dog to be bored and miss their owners while they are away. I want them to be happy and comfortable with me. I go above and beyond to make their sitting experience the best. I currently work another full time job so I try to keep my calendar updated on the days I'm available. Sometimes I can do drop in visits after work if that helps. I am not currently caring for pets in my home due to the amount of rescues I have at the moment. But I am still doing drop ins and walks

About: I have a love for all animals since I can remember. Especially dogs. 🐾 Having had dogs my entire life and getting my own girl named bella I rescued at 3 months old who had a beautiful long life passing a year ago. I know how to handle multiple dogs at once as i’ve watched 6 animals all together cats and dogs. I am very experienced in this. I have tended to medical needs, bathing, extra care for scared animals, walks with multiple dogs and more. I really am a natural caretaker to fur babies. I worked at a holistic pet store for a while and learned much about dog healthcare which benefited my dogs and other people's dogs lives I was able to give advice to. Walks, outside time, & play time is essential for your pup. And of course, treats if provided! I will go over each dogs needs prior to watching. I will treat your dog like my own and they will get immense love staying with me and bella. I usually also offer energy healing & massage if I notice the pup over can benefit. I currently work from home so am open and available to care for your fur baby and will be with them all the time! They will get so much care and love. I will be able to spend time with them play with them all day, walk them and make sure they eat on time. Really, they will be with me all the time. I set up a cozy space for everyone for sleeping time. They can also sun bath in our patio over looking beautiful pine trees.

About: I am a college student at WCU! And since I was a little girl I have cared for animals and my heart grows bigger for them each day! I understand it is scary leaving your baby in the hands of someone new but I am more than willing to prove myself that I am the best! I have volunteered at many animal shelters and have walked plenty of dogs (including my teachers) on campus! I am currently working part time, my schedule is very flexible. I can care for pets most mornings and evening, and several mid days a week! Every client is different, I understand you have certain rules for your babies and I am more than willing to listen to them! Need your baby to walk for 40 minutes? Let’s get our walk in! Need the little one in a crate when I leave? More than happy to!

About: I’ve owned both cats and dogs my whole life, and more recently I’ve owned chickens as well. Starting with cats, I’ve fed and cleaned up after the ones we’ve owned, as well as taken care of the cats and kittens we fostered over the years. I’ve bottle fed them, helped give vaccines, and everything else in between when it comes to raising and taking care of them. I have also helped pet sit many of our neighbors as well as friends cats over the years. We have also owned several dogs, and I have tons of experience with walking and feeding them. We currently own 3; 2 small dogs and 1 big dog, so I have learned how to take care of many sizes of dog. Like with cats, I’ve also walked and fed my neighbors dogs many times when they’ve gone out of town. Lastly, we’ve raised more chickens than I can count in the past 7ish years, and I’ve taken care of chicks we got from breeders, as well as chicks born from our own hens and roosters. All of our chickens free range and are egg layers, so I treat them like any other pet and not like livestock. I have experience feeding them, fending off hawks and other predators, putting them to bed every night, as well as animal-proofing the coops themselves. For almost my whole life, I’ve helped feed our cats and scooped their litter just about every day. I also walk and feed each of our dogs throughout the day. Finally, I feed and put up our chickens many times throughout each week. I follow any instructions my clients may have and can cater to their pets needs. I love on and treat others pets the same way I would with my own, and have done so for neighbors, family, friends, as well as many others.

About: I grew up with pets which ranged from dogs to cats to chickens to a horse. I currently have a 8 year old Boxer and 1 year old cat who I rescued from a shelter! I would love to have a goat farm one day and be able to do goat yoga. I enjoy being around all pets, especially dogs. I think that all animals are special and deserve to be treated with lots of love. As a pet sitter/walker, I can come visit with your pet to provide food/water, playtime, walks, any other care that is needed to support your pet(s)/family and provide lots of love! About: My whole life has revolved around my passion and love for animals. From volunteering at my local animal shelter, working at luxury pet resorts to working on a Farm I have had experience with animals of all sizes. In the future I hope to become a certified dog trainer and I am already on my way to it. I am dog and cat CPR certificated. I have years of experience caring for all sizes and age groups of pets. I personally have two dogs that get to go to the park and do training daily. I personally feel like enrichment for animals is one of the most important part of pet care in a day. I strive myself to be able to give all of the animals I take care of mental and physical enrichment daily. I currently work part time so I have plenty of time outside of work to care for my own pets, as well as others pets to my best ability. My main priority for pet care is making sure the pet is safe, happy and healthy. I also want to make sure that pet parents are comfortable with the approaches I use and the incentives given to the animals. I want the pet care I provide to be a happy and mutually beneficial experience for both the animals and the parents.

About: Rescuing dogs — especially puppies — is the most rewarding feeling in life. The most important thing with our furry friends is consistency. If you're stricter with your dog, you need a sitter who'll uphold those rules, not let them slide. I've taken care of dogs and cats for friends and family for years, and I've learned that it's not about what I want — it's about honoring what the owner has built with their pet. I work with the public in my day job, so patience is second nature to me. Pets are no different. They need someone who can read their energy, stay calm, and meet them where they're at. I also love running and playing with animals. Exercise is huge — but I get that a walk isn't always about distance. Sometimes they need to run. Sometimes they need to stop and smell everything. I match their pace, not mine. I don't know if anything really sets me apart from other sitters. I just genuinely want to be there for the furry family member. My availability in inconsistent due to Firefighting but I will always respond as soon as I'm able too. I understand due to my schedule I won't the best sitter for if you need someone daily, but if you need someone to drop-in, walk your dog, or just need a night out, feel free to leave a message. Currently working for a fire department, schedule can be inconsistent. Great for drop in play times and walks. Days off from fire department can be great for unexpected care. Currently unable to have pets in home due to renting rules. Will make sure to confirm and follow all rules with you before accepting the job.

About: “I have taken care of dogs my whole life and currently have a sweet pug puppy named Willow. I love taking dogs on walks, giving them playtime, potty breaks, snuggles, and lots of attention. I treat every dog like my own — with patience, kindness, and positive reinforcement. Whether it’s a quick drop-in or an overnight stay, your pup will feel safe, happy and deeply loved in my care I work from home as an artist and am almost always here, so your dog will get consistent walks, potty breaks, playtime, and plenty of snuggles throughout the day. They won’t be left alone except for quick errands. 🐾 My home is very dog-friendly with a fully fenced in yard, tons of toys, comfy dog beds, and lots of space to relax. Dogs are welcome on the furniture and in my bed (just like my own pups). I treat every dog like part of the family — with lots of love, patience, and positive reinforcement. 🐾

About: Have had pets my entire life, bred multiple reptiles in the past, have had several dogs over the years, exotics, still have a 23 year old african grey who is my middle child who won't leave the nest, spent a decade volunteering at a no-kill shelter, multiple animal rescues, have worked in multiple veterinary offices, been vegetarian since 1997, worked as a vegan chef in several restaurants, and still love to cook for potlucks, friends and fun! I'm currently just working a few days a week in a restaurant, no other commitments. Plus it's the longest I've ever been without companion animal of my own, so I have extra time and love to give at the moment. Will follow the owners instructions to the tee, and more often than not spend additional time when possible. I'm currently without pets of my own which is rare for me, so I have an ample amount of attention and care to spare!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Cherokee. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking bookings, your dog walker can send a Rover Card with details about your dog’s walk. Rover Cards require at least one photo and may include a map of the walking route , the total walk time and distance, and any pee or poop breaks recorded by the walker.

The route map lets you review where your dog was walked in Cherokee after the booking. It is not live GPS tracking.

Have specific details you would like included? Message your dog walker in the app before the walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your walker interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and walker for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .

walkers on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement walker.
