“Cheyenne was so incredibly patient and responsive! We were in from out of town and wanted someone to check in on our dog while we were hiking in the park. Our dog was in great hands and whenever we are back in the area, we’ll definitely reach out. Couldn’t recommend Cheyenne more!”

About: I have over 15 years experience in working in the veterinary field. I have a fenced in back yard with plenty of shade and room to run around. I have a bigger house so if your animal isn’t a big fan of being outdoors then they’re more then welcome to just hang out indoors. My dogs are very friendly and love making new friends. Your baby will have their own space for night time or a crate if that’s preferred. I have 3 different cat trees for my cats to use if you need a cat sitter. Your cat can be left in their own room at my house if needed as well. I work part time when needed and have plenty of time to take care of all of your pet needs. I love being outside and can take your pet for a long walk when needed or just a short visit to feed. Whatever is needed! I have a fenced in back yard and big comfy living room for down time. I have a crate if needed and lots of room to run and play.
About: There's nothing more enjoyable than going on an adventure with your four-legged bestie. Whether you want an easy stroll around the neighborhood or a hike on a local dog-friendly trail, I'm your dog walker. I've been a pet parent since the age of 4 - both cats and dogs - and currently have 3 rescue dogs - Stella Blue, Nutter Butter, and Ruby Sue. I owned a very successful dog walking company before moving to North Carolina. I also worked for PetSmart as a dog trainer, and I'm certified in dog CPR. I work primarily from home as a freelance writer, so my availability is rather flexible. But to ensure I meet the needs of all my clients, a little bit of notice when booking visits would be appreciated. I will give your doggies so many belly rubs, ear scratches, and cuddles that (hopefully) they won't miss you too much while you're out. I treat every client's dog as if it were my own fur baby.
About: I have a love for all animals since I can remember. Especially dogs. 🐾 Having had dogs my entire life and getting my own girl named bella I rescued at 3 months old who had a beautiful long life passing a year ago. I know how to handle multiple dogs at once as i’ve watched 6 animals all together cats and dogs. I am very experienced in this. I have tended to medical needs, bathing, extra care for scared animals, walks with multiple dogs and more. I really am a natural caretaker to fur babies. I worked at a holistic pet store for a while and learned much about dog healthcare which benefited my dogs and other people's dogs lives I was able to give advice to. Walks, outside time, & play time is essential for your pup. And of course, treats if provided! I will go over each dogs needs prior to watching. I will treat your dog like my own and they will get immense love staying with me and bella. I usually also offer energy healing & massage if I notice the pup over can benefit. I currently work from home so am open and available to care for your fur baby and will be with them all the time! They will get so much care and love. I will be able to spend time with them play with them all day, walk them and make sure they eat on time. Really, they will be with me all the time. I set up a cozy space for everyone for sleeping time. They can also sun bath in our patio over looking beautiful pine trees.
“Lillie has been great working with our new dog Archie. She is very patient and gives great updates, which is very helpful when trying to figure out what behaviors we need to work on with him.”

About: I have taken care of dogs my whole life. I am a trustworthy retired RN who is looking to spoil your dogs while you are away. I am a non-smoker and very active with walking/hikes and pickleball. I am retired now for 5 years and spend my day actively with hike/bikes/pickleball to name a few activities. I am available most days with proper notice. I do not have a fenced yard but do have a 7-year-old dog named Dori who gets her exercise walking daily. If you pup likes fenced in yards caring for your dog would be better at your home.

About: “I have taken care of dogs my whole life and currently have a sweet pug puppy named Willow. I love taking dogs on walks, giving them playtime, potty breaks, snuggles, and lots of attention. I treat every dog like my own — with patience, kindness, and positive reinforcement. Whether it’s a quick drop-in or an overnight stay, your pup will feel safe, happy and deeply loved in my care I work from home as an artist and am almost always here, so your dog will get consistent walks, potty breaks, playtime, and plenty of snuggles throughout the day. They won’t be left alone except for quick errands. 🐾 My home is very dog-friendly with a fully fenced in yard, tons of toys, comfy dog beds, and lots of space to relax. Dogs are welcome on the furniture and in my bed (just like my own pups). I treat every dog like part of the family — with lots of love, patience, and positive reinforcement. 🐾
“Allyson was great. She sent loads of pictures of our elderly dog. She obviously had no trouble helping him up and down the ramp, and helping him get up from laying down. He's an old dog (age 17) so needed a little assistance and she was willing and able to do so. She judged what he could handle, as it was warm and he is an old husky, kept in good contact with us during her visits.”
“Sarah was great! Very kind and great communication. Loved seeing all the pictures she took of Enzo on his walk. He always looked so happy! Sad she’s leaving the state for a few months but definitely looking forward to working with her again when she returns.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Bryson City
Now that my dad is back on his feet and able to walk the dogs again, we just wanted to share how grateful we are for Cheyenne’s help over the past few weeks. She has been incredibly flexible and easy to work with the entire time. Even this past week, with rainy weather and a puppy who loves puddles, she was willing to adjust her schedule to make things work. That kind of willingness to adapt really made a difference for us. Cheyenne was also good about communicating and keeping us updated, which we appreciated, especially since timing varied a bit day to day, but she kept us informed. Overall, she has been accommodating, responsive, and easy to work with through every change we threw her way, and it gave us real peace of mind knowing our dogs were in good hands. If we ever need a dog walker again, we will definitely be reaching out to Cheyenne.

Cheyenne was so incredibly patient and responsive! We were in from out of town and wanted someone to check in on our dog while we were hiking in the park. Our dog was in great hands and whenever we are back in the area, we’ll definitely reach out. Couldn’t recommend Cheyenne more!

After returning from vacation, we were so glad Cheyenne was available to help again while my dad is still recovering from knee surgery. This week brought a new wrinkle for us since we had just brought home our new rescue (a 25 lb Mountain Feist), and we realized it would be best for everyone if the dogs were walked separately. Cheyenne handled that change without hesitation and was very flexible as we figured out what worked best. Even though she wasn’t able to do a full 60 minutes for each dog, she made the most of the time she had and walked both dogs for 45 minutes each. That kind of flexibility and willingness to adjust really meant a lot to us during a hectic week. Both dogs are doing great with her, and it’s clear she’s comfortable managing different needs and personalities. She’s also been easy to communicate with and dependable throughout. We’ve already hired her again for two more days next week. Her rates are very reasonable, especially considering she’s willing to come out to my parents’ home, which isn’t close to town. That’s been a huge help for our family.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
