“Summer cared for our babies and home in such a kind and supportive manner. She was attentive and provided updates on how everything was going. We will definitely be using her again for future pet sitting care!”

“Star fire is amazing! She took great care of our herd and kept me super informed. We have 3 Great Danes and a German Shepherd and they loved her. We will definitely be rebooking her!”

“Highly recommend! They were fantastic with my dogs and incredibly punctual. I really appreciated the consistent updates and photos they sent, which gave me total peace of mind while I was away.”

“Aleyah is very professional and caring. She cares for our pups well and is attentive to their needs. We will continue to rebook Aleyah for dog walking and dog sitting services.”

“We could not have left our dog, Waldo, in better hands than Stacey's! Stacey feels like family and Waldo felt that, too. We're grateful for her photo and video updates and attentive care. We strongly recommend Stacey!!”

“Morgan was great with my 2 pups! He followed my instructions and went above and beyond to ensure my girls were well taken care of. I received daily updates and photos, which was great while I was out of the country. He brought in all my packages, bins and ensured I came home to a clean house. Highly recommend!”

“We are so glad that we found Vanessa to be able to watch our dogs while we were out of town. She is so attentive to the needs of our dogs and treats them like her own. She is very knowledgeable about anxious dogs which makes us feel so much better knowing that she is the one taking care of our dogs when we are away.”

About: I grew up with many pets. For example, I’ve had 6 birds, 3 hamsters, 1 dwarf gerbil, 1 leopard gecko, 2 cats, 2 dogs, and possibly more. I currently have 2 dogs. Both are rescues. Jasper is 2 years old and I’ve had him since he was about a month old if even that, and Raleigh who is 7 now. I’ve had her since she was 2. Aside from the doggy babies, I also currently have a brown anole that I took in from Florida. His name is Tommy and I’ve had him for 4 months now. He was a baby when I found him. I also have 2 fish, Gumball and Penny. I personally believe all animals are babies. I’ve also pet sit for family members before. I’m currently working part time and I’m not yet in school. I do have a lot of free time, and because I don’t live alone I have people home to help take care of my furry and scaled friends, where as some people may need some extra help that I’d be able to provide! I was raised right. I’m respectful, do not cross boundaries, and know better than to disrespect clients (human and animal, of course!) I’m a big empath, I love animals beyond comprehension. I’m a vegetarian that’s working my way to veganism if that can show you how empathetic I am. I also cry while watching Ratatouille. I love walking, I love talking to animals, I treat animals as if they are literal babies because they are just too cute!
About: Since I was a kid I’ve had dogs, birds, reptiles, and more! I’m experienced with all kinds of animals, from puppies to senior pets. I would love to care for your best friend this summer! Open to house sitting, drop ins, and whatever is convenient to you. Outside of pet sitting, I’m a senior at Stevenson University and an EMT in Baltimore county. I will be out of town from May 31-June 4, and July 10-18. I am also returning to college in late August. My schedule is otherwise very flexible! My schedule is very flexible while I am home from college for this summer. I will be out of town from May 31-June 3 and July 10-18. I leave back to college in late August. I have a friendly senior dog at home that gets along with other pets and children. I am also open to home visits, drop ins, and whatever is convenient to you! I can keep your best friend company for as long as needed and cater to any special needs such as mobility, medication, and temperament.
“Tia was great! Highly recommend. She was super thoughtful with my (anxious) dog and it was wonderful to be able to relax while traveling and know my pup was in safe hands. Will definitely book her again!”

“Melissa was absolutely exceptional with our two senior dogs and puppy — we couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. From the start, she was remarkably polite and communicative, keeping us updated throughout with thoughtful messages and plenty of photos so we always felt connected to our pets. She took outstanding care of both our animals and our home, and we were genuinely touched to return to a house that was in even better shape than we’d left it. That kind of initiative and attention to detail is rare and truly appreciated. What stood out most was how she handled an unexpected situation when our puppy fell ill during the stay. Without hesitation, Melissa took her to the emergency vet and stayed by her side until we returned home. Her calm, compassionate response made all the difference — our puppy recovered quickly and is doing wonderfully. Melissa has earned our complete trust and will be our absolute first call every time we need a pet sitter. We recommend her wholeheartedly and without reservation to anyone looking for someone who will treat your pets like her own.”

“Karima took excellent care of our dog Goose and our apartment while we were away for over a week. She was caring, responsive, and helpful throughout her stay. She sent us daily updates and was very professional. She left our apartment clean and Goose absolutely loved her! I would definitely book with Karima again and suggest her for any of your dog sitting needs.”

“Deborah was a wonderful sitter for our 11 year old shih tzu. She took great care of him, the house, and was great at communicating and sending updates. We’ll absolutely have her watch Teddy again!”

“Lindsey provided the best care for Mizu. She gave me daily updates and whenever I needed a little update. She followed instructions with feeding and administering medications. Mizu was in the best care. Will definitely have her watch him again when I am away.”

“Anh was amazing with Pico. She jumped in last minute and handled everything so thoughtfully - including some unexpected tummy issues and his occasional puppy chaos. She kept me fully updated the whole time and sent lots of great photos, which I really appreciated. It made such a difference being able to see how he was doing. Pico is used to being with me all the time, so social interaction is really important for him. Anh adjusted to Pico’s needs and routine and also made him part of hers - giving him so much extra love and attention. You can’t always guarantee that level of care when you’re away, and I’m so grateful I never had to worry. I would absolutely recommend Anh to anyone without hesitation!”

“I contacted India on relatively short notice for pet sitting. She was available to come meet us and our dog before our trip. India did a wonderful job taking care of our older German Shepherd who is dealing with some skin conditions. She was very caring and followed all of the instructions that I left for medicine and wound care. We appreciate the care that she gave our girl and will definitely book with India again to take care of our dog. We also have a bearded dragon and fish that she took care of as well. Highly recommend India for pet sitting.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 3,397 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Charlotte Hall. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Charlotte Hall walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Charlotte Hall maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Charlotte Hall choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Charlotte Hall. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
