Josh just started walking my 9 year old pup. He took the time to do a meet and greet and get my old gal use to him. She was already so excited to see him today when for her first walk with him. He takes lots of pics and provides great information. He kind and gentle with animals and is so sweet! Thank you Josh!

About: State pet adoption CEO hired me! Many years of experience with dogs, cats, hamsters, sugar gliders, and other pets. Reliable. Integrity matters! Fostering experience. #pickme Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I enjoy being active and spending time with animals. I plan my schedule to ensure pets receive consistent attention, exercise, feeding, and companionship throughout the day. Whether it's walks, playtime, potty breaks, or simply providing comfort and care, I make pets a priority and enjoy incorporating their needs into my everyday activities. The only time I’m not available os Sunday mornings (church-my husband’s a minister). I care for pets in their own home by maintaining their normal routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, potty breaks, and any special instructions. I provide lots of attention and companionship and do my best to ensure pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their family is away.

About: As a kid I was taught responsibility by caring for our horses, cats, dogs, birds, fish and guinea pigs. I’ve had pets all my life! My mom’s cat almost died of a bacterial infection in her mouth and I’ve helped administer antibiotics to her until she got better. I had a cat who had kidney disease and needed to have IV fluids every week. My other cat had to be mouth fed with a syringe as well as monitored via thermometer up his butt. I have house and pet sit for friends and family that have multiple pets, most recently for a friend that had 6 dogs of all sizes! I am an active individual so walking will be a treat for them and me! :) I have given dogs and cats baths and also cared for dogs in heat. I have a very open and wide range of availability and I am available most days, including weekends and holidays as I rarely ever go out of town. It would be great to develop some long term relationships with new pets and their owners! Repeats are always great but not expected. I will do what I can to work with your schedule and the needs of you and your fur child. I will do my best to maintain consistency and high-level care when it comes to your pet. Each pet is different and I try to get to know each one individually in order to gain their trust and yours and provide the best care possible. Often times, I will send pictures to the pet owner, especially if it is a new client or a pet owner is out of town for an extended amount of time. I am easily reachable and try to communicate clearly about wants, needs, and scheduling. I prefer to do a meet and greet prior to providing a service, but it is not mandatory, especially for last minute bookings! We have a small yard in front and neighbors that will walk their dogs but they are all on leashes and well behaved. We live in a newer and safe community and I often take my dog for a walk around the neighborhood. There is a small park down the street which is nice too. We also have a fenced in backyard which can be seen from the inside of the house or the porch. We live in a one story house, but there are steps from the porch to the yard outback. My husband lives with me and has also grown up with cats and dogs. We currently have one male cat Santiago who gets along great with our male Chihuahua Juan Pablo and also got along great with my former senior Maine coon cat. He is a bit weary of strangers at first, but he will just hide until he gets to know you a bit and then you won’t be able to get him off of your lap. We have a gate in between the kitchen and the rest of the house so that the Chihuahua can have free rain to walk around and not have to be in his cage when we are not home. In the event that we have another animal in the house we can keep the Chihuahua in his cage. We also have two bedrooms and two baths that can be used to separate animals. The Chihuahua is very friendly and gets along great with the cat. He is also a bit skittish at first with strangers but once he gets to know you all he wants to do is give you kisses. He is very non-aggressive and barely ever barks. He is also very friendly. I feed my cat both wet and dry food twice a day in his food dish and he has water out constantly. I feed the dog twice a day, sometimes dry food, and sometimes refrigerated dog food. I let the dog out several times a day and we go for a daily walk as well. I clean the kitty litter box once a day. I snuggle and cuddle with both of them as much as possible, and play fetch with the dog at various points throughout the day.

About: I’ve taken care of animals every kind since I was 7. Neighbors, friends and family have relied on me to walk, feed, give love and attention to their pets for years. I will do my upmost to care for them just as you would. If you have pets that need training I will stick with it while they are in my care. I can can for senior pets with special needs, animals with disabilities and I respect special diets. I currently have a small business working from home, my daily and weekly routine is flexible. I have my own animals I care for so adding daily trips for drop in visits or pet pick ups for daycare are added into what I do on a daily basis. I have my own animals living with me, 3 dogs and 3 cats along with some reptiles. I have a 1600sq ft home with a fenced in backyard. The backyard has grass and is right next to a park for nice walks. Caring for pets in my home require neutral ground visits first as I require that all animals get along first. This means dogs all must meet each other individually before they come to stay with us. If all animals get along then they have free roam and are supervised during. If I must leave animals with be put away in either their kennels/cages or in rooms to make sure everyone is safe from any accidents. For drop in visits animals will be taking care of based on the clients specifications. If I am staying in your home I will be caring for your animals based on your needs and giving them the same attention my animals would get.

About: With 5 years of experience as a veterinary technician, I have a deep understanding of animal care, from cats and dogs to exotic species. I’ve worked with pets of all temperaments—whether they’re energetic and playful or more reserved—and I’m comfortable providing care for animals with special needs or medical conditions. In addition to my veterinary experience, I’ve had the privilege of pet sitting for clients who visit our veterinary hospital, which has given me the opportunity to care for a variety of fur babies in their own homes. I also have experience with exotic animals, having worked at a botanical garden where I cared for a wide range of species. From reptiles to birds and small mammals, I’m familiar with the unique needs and care requirements of different types of animals. Whether you have a cat, dog, or exotic pet, I am fully prepared to provide attentive, reliable care for your pets while you’re away. I have my own fur babies, so I truly understand the trust and love that goes into finding someone to care for your pets. Whether your pets need medications, extra attention, or just a familiar face to keep them company, I’m here to ensure they’re in the best hands possible. I offer flexible and open availability for all your pet sitting needs! Whether you need someone for a few hours, overnight stays, or extended care, I am happy to accommodate. With my experience as a veterinary technician, I am equipped to handle all aspects of pet care, from following specific routines to administering medications if needed. I believe that safety and trust are the foundation of great pet care. I’ll make sure your pet is always secure in their surroundings, keeping doors and gates closed, providing supervision during outdoor time, and ensuring they are never left alone in unsafe situations. I also make sure to follow any special instructions you provide to ensure your pet’s routine is maintained while you’re away, from feeding times to favorite toys or special cuddles. I treat your home as I would my own, respecting your space and keeping everything neat and tidy. I also offer updates and check-ins to keep you informed and help ease your mind while you’re away. Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Cedar Valley. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Cedar Valley.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cedar Valley. On Rover:

  • 94% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
