“Brenda & Alvin M. were great. We have always boarded Remy in the past but she seems to get very stressed. She likes a lot of attention and cuddles. We appreciated the pictures and updates daily. Remy seemed very comfortable with them. We would definitely use them again.”

“The meet and greet with Kayti went very well. My dog Eddy liked Kaysi's dog. She has a fenced in back yard also this put my mind at ease. While on Vacation Kayti sent pictures of Eddy, she was so good with him he is very active, her dog and Eddy are the same breed, she said they do the same things. Also she brought the dogs in on hot days to keep them cooled off. The 1st boarding was not good so Kayti picked up on Eddy's actions. She has her house set up for boarding dog. My Eddy came home healthy, that is the main think for me Thanks Kayti”

“David did a great job caring for Rosie. He communicated well, left great feedback, and I was confident that he cared for my energetic dog well. I will be booking with him again in the future.”

“I was afraid to leave my dog with someone I had never met. They were amazing with my little dog. She doesn’t like most people but she loved them by the time I picked her up!”

“Maria took care of our 3 dogs one of which is a puppy and can be a hand full! Maria is a very caring person. She kept us updated throughout the stay with pictures and even a couple of videos, which we loved seeing! I screwed up the itinerary and Maria was very understanding and accommodating and we appreciated that very much too. Rosa and Ripley, the 2 older ones were pooped out, which means they had a grand time! Clyde is like the energizing bunny....he never stops! Thank you so much, Maria!”

“Kay and family was definitely a godsend in my last minute attempt to find care for my dog, Henry. Daily updates with pictures and videos and great communication helped me relax knowing he was in good hands. My dog has special needs in the center where he has attachment issues and there was always somebody home at Kay‘s house to be with Henry and her family is just as calming and sweet as what you would picture from her description and photos. Not only a great dog sitter but an amazing human being in life! Can’t thank you all enough!”
“I was very impressed Marie and Mark. When we first went to meet them, Marie took Luna off her leash so she could explore the house. Luna jumped up on the couch to be next to them. They did not care and just petted her. The pics the sent was Luna going on walks and curled up next to them. I felt very comfortable Luna was just fine. Will use, for sure, again.”

“If we could rate higher than 5 stars, we would. Ramanda and her family took such good care of our dogs, Punky and Elmer. When we have left our dogs with caregivers in the past at times we have worried about their care. We can honestly say we had absolutely no worries with Ramanda and her family taking care of our boys. Communication and attention to details about their feeding schedule, etc. etc. were excellent. Bottom line is that they really, really care about animals and the quality of care they provide. Ramanda sent many pictures of Punky and Elmer with all family members involved with them. Her girls provided so much attention and love that was so much appreciated. It's nice to know your pets will be well taken care of when having to leave them behind. Thank-you.”

“Good with communication and flexible. Our dogs seemed very happy with their time there and even gave a loving good bye nuzzle to their kiddo. Our 2 yr old pup was very tuckered from running and playing with their younger dog. Will definitely use them again in the future! 😊”

“Gloriahna took amazing care of our puppy! I would recommend her services to anyone. She loves animals and our pup seemed to have a great stay with her. I also appreciated that she kept in touch and sent photos, as we were a little nervous leaving our sweet boy for the first time. Great experience for all 💯”

“My pups had a great time staying with Nickolai and his family! He even set up a little pool for when it was really hot out. It looked like the dogs had an absolute blast! He sent plenty of updates and pictures throughout their stay, which was so reassuring while I was away. He was also incredibly responsive and always quick to communicate.”

“Thomas and his family welcomed my little dog into their home. He was well cared for and I felt informed and comfortable with his communication for our vacation. I definitely will have Milo come again. Thank you for taking such good care of our dog.”

“We've had April (and Logan) a number of times and have nothing but high praise for her and her care of our "baby". I hope she continues for many more years!”

“Yuliya is just fantastic! She got Monk outside despite the snowstorm and sent pictures everyday! I love knowing he is being loved and cared for in the same way even when we’re not home to do it!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Cedar home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Cedar.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Cedar sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
